Chapter 1

"SASUKE! GET BACK OVER HERE! WE ARE NOT FINISHED WITH THIS CONVERSATION." Sasuke promptly flipped the girl off, walking out and slamming the door behind him. The dark haired man found himself heading into the woods, a place where he's been spending most of his time.

Ever since Sarada was born, his and Sakura's relationship was slowly deteriorating. They argued all the time, sometimes even screaming in front of their 7 year old daughter. Sasuke sighed, now perched on a tall tree. 'If I break up with her, then what will be of our daughter? And if I try to fix things with Sakura, what will happen to me?'

He knew that he had to make a decision, and quick, or else it'll do more harm than good. Sasuke sighed again, not knowing what to do with his messed up life. Not to mention how he's confused about his feelings for Naruto. He had a crush on him for 2 years when, out of nowhere, his feelings were cut off. It was confusing. He felt a warm feeling in his chest when he thought of him, but when he would go to actually see the boy, they dissipated.

Come to think of it, when did Sasuke fall out of love with Naruto? Sasuke leaned back on the branch, reminiscing the day it happened.

"NARUTO! What the hell are you doing? You're going to get yourself killed!" Naruto replied quickly, not even turning around as he faced his opponent. "Sorry, Sasuke, but if I don't do this he'll destroy the village." Naruto paused, then continued, his voice light. "If I die, which I most likely will, promise me that you'll never forget me."

Sasuke could only watch in horror as Naruto let out a sequence of complicated hand signs. A water like substance flowed from out of the ground, circling the blonde boy and emitting a dark red light. Sasuke gasped as he recognized the kyuubi's chakra. A scream built up in his throat, but he couldn't emit a sound, temporarily blinded. He passed out, seeing nothing but the bright red color that seemed to be everywhere.

An eternity later, Sasuke opened his eyes. Groaning, he got up, and looked around. His eyes snapped into focus when he recognized Orochimaru's body laying next to him. He was finally, truly, dead. He would no longer harass the village. They were safe, at least until someone else came and caused trouble for them.

Sasuke grinned, feeling relieved. He looked around, trying to spot Naruto, who was most likely knocked out somewhere. To his surprise, he was nowhere to be seen. Hot tears ran down his face, but he didn't bother to wipe them away. "No" He whispered to himself. They had finally defeated Orochimaru, but at what price?

Sasuke curled up on the ground, pouring out tears nonstop. He continued to whisper to himself, unwilling to believe that Naruto was dead. Eventually, his lack of sleep caught up to him and he passed out on the ground, not caring about how dangerous it could be.

Sasuke frowned, unwilling to revisit the painful memory. 'It was tearing me apart, watching him sacrifice himself like that. I'm just glad it's over.' Sasuke adjusted his position on the branch, laying down with his arms behind his neck. He closed his eyes and let his mind wander back to about 10 years ago.
