Welcome to the family

Finally able to clear up the situation the hospital staff apologized to 17 and the heroes because of this mistake. And though some of the heroes were pissed since it wasted a lot of their time 17 decided to let this matter go since technically he didn't knew anyone there and acting aggressively might give a bad impression to the people.

17 then came back to his own room along with the three heroes who helped him and some of the police officers.

Soon they entered the room and saw that the bed was destroyed.

Seeing that all of them immediately got prepared thinking that someone has trespassed this room.

Seeing them like that 17 had a sweat drop. He stayed silent for a while before he started to move again towards the bed and fixed it once again and was sitting at the edge of the bed.

Seeing that an awkward atmosphere was formed in the room with none of them knowing what to say.

"...Umm, that was cool." said Crust trying to start up a conversation.

17 nodded his head and said, "Thank you, but please don't force yourself, Mr. hero. You were heavily injured during the previous incident."

Hearing that the mummified Crust smiled and said, "No need to worry about me kid. I am in a perfect condition to go and save some more people. By the way, the name's Crust."

17 nodded his head and then looked back at one of the police man since they were not injured and asked, "Can you help me a bit sitting like this is very painful and I cannot move my body that much."

Hearing that one of the police man came towards him and adjusted his position a bit so that his body was laying against the bed.

17 then thanked him and asked, "So....is there something you want to say to me?"

Gran Torino nodded his head and came near him and said, "First of all my name is Sorahiko Torino, a retired hero who went by the name of Gran Torino. What about you?"

"Subject no. 17. You can just call me 17." said 17 without any change in his expression.

But once they heard his name most of them had imagined what his name was implying and looked towards 17 with their eyes widened in surprise.

"I-Is that so, then 17, you see what I am going to tell you is something very serious and needs to be kept a secret from others. Do you understand?"

17 nodded his head and said, "I understand. So please don't tell me about this since it being a secret means that it is dangerous, and I am not looking for it right now."

Hearing that all of them were speechless except for Mirko who started laughing after she heard what 17 said.

Sorahiko gave a sigh and said, "I wish it was that simple. You see this information is something that is related to you."

Hearing that 17 stared at the old man in front of him for a while before he gave an annoyed sigh and said, "... Continue."

Sorahiko nodded and said, "That villain....Antonio was it...he seemed to have escaped from us...."

Sorahiko then looked towards 17 thinking that the boy would have shocked by the news.

But to their surprise 17 just closed his eyes and laid back on the bed and said, "Is that so...well it's not like it is that much of a surprise to me.....I have already expected such a situation to happen."

Sorahiko and the rest of the people blinked their eyes in surprise seeing the boy acting like that.

17 then looked back at him and asked, "How did that happen though?"

Sorahiko gave a fake cough and said, "We also don't know, but it seems like he used one of his quirks to get away from there. All of us saw him get covered in a black fog, and the next instant he vanished along with the fog as well."

Hearing that 17 frowned and thought, 'There is no such quirk in his arsenal as far as I remember.....not to mention if he had a quirk like that he would not have been chasing us like that throughout the whole city.'

17 kept those thoughts to himself since he wasn't sure about it. Sorahiko seeing that 17 was once again paying attention to them smiled and said, "Also I would like to thank you for the help you provided in this case. We were able to prevent a lot of casualties because of your quick thinking during this incident."

The police men who were standing at the side nodded their heads in approval as well and smiled at him.

But 17 didn't think much about it and then asked, "Ummm...thank you. But keeping that aside, what happened to 35 and the others...I mean the kids who were missing heads."

Hearing him all of them once again turned serious and the one of the police man said, "Those kids, were found dead and it seems like their bodies were controlled by some quirk. Currently there are some checks done to their bodies, once that is done, we will surely do things accordingly and bury them."

17 looked towards the police man who took a step forward with a questioning look. Seeing his look the police man realised something and said, "Ah, I am a detective Naomasa Tsukauchi....now if you are done with your talks I would like to interrogate you on this recent incident....and I hope you cooperate with us."

Hearing that 17 understood that there was no choice for him in this matter, and decided to answer this detective and nodded his head.

But before he could ask something suddenly there was a k ock on the door and all of them turned around.

"Yes?" said Gran Torino wanting to know who was there.

But instead of a answering the door opened and a short old lady wearing a lab coat and using a huge injection as a walking stick came inside.

"You really know how to trible an old lady, don't you?"

"Recovery girl?"

17 looked at the others who were both surprised and happy to see the old lady, and was curious about who the person was.

The lady then came towards them and looked towards 17 and asked, "So are you the one who got lost a couple of days ago?"

But 17 didn't understand what she was asking and in his place it was Sorahiko who told her.

Nodding her head the short old lady got on top of the bed and said, "This might make you a bit tired but believe me it is good for your body."

Before 17 could ask what she was talking about she moved her face towards him with an expression which wasn't trying to hide a but of the fact that she was trying to kiss him.

Seeing that the old hag who just came in was trying to kiss him 17 became shocked and tried to move away or stop the old lady, but just as he raised his hand a very painful jolt of pain passed through his body making him frown on response and it was in that moment he felt something wet on his cheek.

Just as he felt that a huge he felt a huge amount of his energy drain from him body making his eyes widen in surprise.

Not knowing what the lady did 17 didn't take even a second to react and formed a sharp knife from the bed and was held it near the old lady's neck.

"What did you do to me?" asked 17 with a cold tone.

Seeing that the boy has grabbed recovery girl and has placed a k ife near her neck all the people in the room widened their eyes in shock. The police men took out their guns and pointed it towards 17 while the heroes tried to stop him from doing anything reckless.

Meanwhile the old lady who was taken in like a hostage didn't even flinch and said, "What am I doing? Isn't that obvious, you are healed, right?"

Hearing her answer 17's eyes widened as he looked at his arms which were no longer in pain and could move properly.

17 then released the old lady and turned the kinds back to a part of the bed and bowed his head.

"I am sorry granny. Thank you for healing me."

The old lady just smiled and patted his head and said, "No need to worry, you were startled, right?"

17 who somehow felt that the headpats were a bit soothing nodded his head and looked at her and noticed that the old lady was smiling at him.

He was about to thank her once again but suddenly-

*Growl*

...his stomach grumbled once again.

The room once again turned awkward because of the comedic action of the stomach. The old lady chuckled and said, "Hungry, eh? Here, have a snickers."

17 who saw the chocolate bar in the old lady's hand gulped his saliva. Not thinking much about it he took it from her hands and ate it immediately.

17 who finally had something eat after two days had a blissful expression on is face, the fact that he was only given bland food back in the research facility made the raste even better than it actually would have been.

Seeing the blissful smile on his face all the people in the room felt happy, as this was the first time they saw him smile since they entered the room.

Recovery girl herself wasn't able to hold back and patted the boy's head thinking that he was looking very adorable.

"*cough**cough* I will ask someone to bring some food for you since you are now healed and can move, so shall we begin the interrogation?" asked Tsukauchi.

Hearing that 17 nodded his head looked at the old lady who stopped patting his head and was now sitting on a chair.

Sorahiko looked at her and asked, "You going to stay here Recovery girl?"

The old lady look at him and said, "How much stamina do you think an old lady who just came here from outside have?"

Sohariko didn't say anything after that and looked towards Tsukauchi to continue.

Tsukauchi nodded and took out a recorder from his pocket and said, "Now I will ask you questions and you will answer me accordingly."

"Tell me your name."

"Subject no. 17"

"What was your relations with the villain named Antonio?"

"He is my father."

"Huh?"

"W-w-wait a minute, What?!"

"He is my blood related father."

"....."

Tsukauchi and the others were speechless and looked at 17 with a dumbfounded look on their faces.

"...Do you k ke the reason why that villain was going rampant in the city?"

"Me and the other remaining children ran away from the his lab and he was trying to capture us back?"

"What did he wanted from you all and where is the lab that you are talking about located?"

"Well, that's a long story....."

After 17 was done with telling them the story and answering the other questions, Tsukauchi stopped the recorder seeing which 17 leaned back on the bed.

Mirko looked at him and said, "I said it earlier and I will say it again. Your old man was way too fucked up in the head."

17 nodded his head and said, "I know."

Tsukauchi then got up from his chair and said, "I will go back and submit this at the headquarters." He then looked towards 17 and asked, "There is one more thing I want to ask you before I leave. What are you going to do from now on?"

17 who heard that question didn't understand what he meant and was about to ask him again but before he was able to Sorahiko said, "17 boy do you have a place to live?"

17 who now finally understood what the detective was asking widened his eyes in shock and soon shook his head in denial.

Seeing him shaking his head Tsukauchi said, "Then you will most probably be send to an orphanage...."

"...or a faculty where they will 'keep an eye on you'"

Just as he said that 17 narrowed his eyes and looked coldly at all of them and soon a blue aura appeared around him.

All of them immediately took some distance away from him as they could feel the amount of blood lust that he was emitting.

'What the hell has this kid gone through to have an aura like that!!!!' were the thoughts that immediately appeared in the minds of the people in there.

Sorahiko immediately raised his hands in surrender and said, "We are not going to hurt you boy and you must understand how much you are in need of protection and survillence since your father is still not caught."

"Sure.....you telling a kid who just ran away from a lab to save his life to go in another lab."

"Yeah, I know that this idea is not pleasing at all.....so I will ask you this.....do you want to be adopted by me?"

Everyone in the room looked at Sorahiko in surprise to which he just shrugged his shoulders and said, "Well I am a retired hero without any family afterall. I have lots of time on my hands, so I can atleast look after you. And you will be free from being forced to be in a place like you came from. I can protect you as well."

He looked at 17 with a smile on his face and asked, "So what do you say, you can count on me for protection, and you also get a place to live. In return I will just keep an eye on you like a normal guardian would and would prevent you from straying to the wrong path."

"Why?" was all that 17 said while glaring at Sorahiko.

Sorahiko then turned serious and said, "Don't think that I am taking pity on you. In my career as a hero I have seen countless people even more unfortunate than you....I am doing this because if you are the blood related child of that man, then having you as a villain is very dangerous, and by the dislike that you are showing in going to the facility, I don't think you will have a good outlook of the society....plus I will have something to pass my time on. So what do you say, a win win situation for both of us."

17 pondered about it for a while before he finally came to a conclusion, '... Let's agree to this right now, if it will cause problems for me in the future, it would not be that difficult to run away or kill him if needed.'

17 stopped using his quirk and said, "Fine then Sorahiko-san."

Sorahiko, with a huge smile on his face said, "Then welcome to the family."
