Shopping with Alex

"Here, Alex, try this next!" Alice said with excitement.

"Understood, Big Sister," Alex replied with a smile. He went inside the changing room to wear the clothes Alice picked for him. A few minutes later the partition of the changing room opened and Alex reappeared wearing a black suit with matching sunglasses.

The salesladies that were assisting Alice in choosing clothes for Alex, squealed in delight. Their eyes sparkled when they saw the cute boy with red hair wear the clothes that they had recommended for him to wear.

"Ok! We'll take this, too!" Alice nodded in satisfaction. "Alex looks good in anything he wears. Even if my Alex were to wear rags, he would still stand out from the crowd!"

'Excuse me? Your Alex?' Abbie snorted. 'Alice you and these salesladies are getting carried away. Especially you, lady over there wearing red. Why are you holding a prince cosplay costume? Where did that even come from? I'm sure that this store doesn't sell them!'

Abbie massaged her temple. She thought that this shopping trip would be a peaceful one. She underestimated Alex's appeal to the opposite gender, especially to older women. Even the other customers started gathering around them.

She then looked at the piles of shopping bags that were slowly increasing in number and wondered if her dormitory closet would be able to accommodate them all. She was about to ask Alice to stop when she saw Alex going back into the changing room while carrying the prince cosplay costume that the saleslady was holding a while ago.

Abbie glanced at the said saleslady and was immediately annoyed when she saw that the latter had taken out her mobile phone. Clearly, she was planning to take pictures of Alex without her permission!

Although she was fuming inside, she also took out her mobile phone. If she can't beat them, she'll just join them!

Squeals of endearment immediately spread out inside the store the moment Alex stepped out of the changing room wearing a prince costume. Everyone who had a mobile phone took his picture. The moment Alex's eyes landed on Abbie, an angelic smile appeared on his face.

'Kuh! So cute!' Abbie thought that she had increased her resistance against Alex's smile, but she was greatly mistaken. The little boy's smile was like a cold glass of water in a desert filled with thirsty girls. They were not able to resist such temptation and gave in to their motherly instincts.

"I want to take him home!"

"Me too!"

"Me Three!"

Abbie's maternal instincts kicked in and immediately pulled the little shota in her embrace. She was not planning to let these women have their way with Alex. It was about time to stop this farce. She'd had enough.

"Hey! Why is that fatso hugging my cutie?!"

"Even if the Gods forgive you, I won't forgive you! Hand that child over!"

"Let him go, or we'll call the guards on you!"

The salesladies reprimanded Abbie for trying to steal the cutie they had set their eyes on. They were about to beat her up when Alex held up his hand to stop them in their tracks.

"She is my guardian," Alex said with a smile. "Big Sisters, thank you for choosing the clothes for me. I like them very much!"

"Awww! Anything for you sweetheart!"

"I have candies with me, do you want some?"

"Do you want shoes? Big sister will buy you shoes!"

"How about a mobile phone? Do you want a mobile phone? I can buy you one if you give Big Sister a kiss!"

"That's enough!" A stern looking woman who seems to be in her forties reprimanded the starry-eyed salesladies."Quit making a scene. You are embarrassing our store to the customers!"

The salesladies turned their head in unison. They were about to confront the woman who shouted at them when they recognized her appearance.

"M-Manager?!"

"Crap!"

"Shi-"

The manager walked towards Abbie and respectfully bowed her head to apologize. "I'm terribly sorry. I'll make sure to discipline these girls so that this incident will not happen again."

"I-It's ok! Don't worry about it," Abbie replied in haste. Seeing the manager apologize because of the behavior of the staff made Abbie feel uncomfortable. "The clothes in your store are all good. I'm very impressed by their quality."

"Thank you for your praise," the manager replied with a smile.

Abbie made eye contact with Alice. The blonde girl nodded her head in understanding. She took out her credit card and handed it to the manager. "I'll be taking these clothes with me. Please handle the rest."

The manager nodded her head and took the card with both hands. She recognized it as a VIP card and knew that they were dealing with important people. With a gesture of the manager's hand, the salesladies immediately picked up the bag of clothes and hurried to the counter.

"You got carried away and bought too much," Abbie said when the manager was out of earshot. "I don't think all of these clothes will fit my closet."

"You don't have to worry about that," Alice replied. "You can always store them in your I-Foam under the character's fashion inventory."

"Such a convenient function exists?"

"Of course. Where do you think the clothes that you buy on the Fashion Store go?"

Abbie immediately took out her mobile phone and checked the Fashion Store App. There was indeed a personal character inventory used to store clothes that were bought from the Fashion Store. She didn't know that it could also store clothes bought in the real world!

"This App is amazing."

"I know right?"

When the clothes were properly paid for and packaged, the three left the store with satisfied smiles on their faces. Alex was wearing his superman shorts and shirt and walked side by side with his master. Abbie had a firm grip on his hand and made sure that the salesladies of the store wouldn't have a chance to approach him.

In fact, Abbie didn't have to do that because the manager was keeping an eye on them. The shotacons had no choice but to behave and watch the cute boy walk out of the store with teary gazes.

"Remind me to just buy things online next time," Abbie said with a sigh. "I don't know if I'll be able to handle another round of shopping for Alex's clothes."

"With the amount of clothes I bought for him, he won't need to go shopping for a while," Alice chuckled.

"Indeed. You bought far too many."

"I would like to buy more, but I'm afraid that Alex was also at his limit. Right, Alex?"

Alex didn't reply but scratched the side of his cheek. He too was overwhelmed with the amount of clothes Alice bought for him. Not to mention, he had to wear all of them, so that she could see whether it looks good on him or not.

"Abbie, do you really want to stay in the dorms?" Alice asked. "It might be best if you stayed in a suite instead. That would give you and Alex more privacy in the future."

"I thought about it too, but I think I'll stay in the dorms for the time being," Abbie replied. "The Dorm Head had also brought Alex's case to the School Dean and we will be meeting with her today. If she didn't approve of Alex's stay, it will not be too late to reconsider moving into a suite."

"Sounds like a plan. Call me later and tell me the results of the meeting."

"I will, thank you."

Abbie didn't know that Alice had already done a full background check of her roommate Diana, the Dorm Head, Yue Ying, and the Dean of the University, Mary Adams.

Abbie's roommate was from a middle-class family. There was nothing that stood out from her profile so Alice marked her as safe.

Yue Ying, on the other hand, was more controversial. Her family's background was very influential, and the girl in question was very unique as well. She had good grades, but for some reason, she refused various offers from high profiled companies. It seemed that she was not interested in getting a high position in society.

The current Dean that Abbie was about to meet had kept her position for more than fifteen years. Everyone, including the students and the Parents and Teachers Association were very satisfied with her work ethics. Even the board of directors felt that she was more than capable to hold the helm of the University for a few more years.

Alice was secretly hoping that the Dean would reject Alex's stay in the dormitory. That way, she would be able to arrange a suite close to hers and visit him everyday, while Abbie was in school. It was quite unfortunate for her that Yue Ying had already set her eyes on Alex. The Dean loved her niece and was willing to stretch the rules for her sake.

Alex's admittance in the girl's dormitory was already set in stone. Meeting with the Dean was mostly out of the older woman's curiosity. She wanted to meet the boy that made her cold and aloof niece become lively again.
