Fiance

'Holy F*ck! What a hunk!' Abbie screamed internally. She now understood why the girls in front of her had stopped walking. They were admiring this drop-dead-gorgeous guy and she could understand why.

The man was devilishly handsome with short, red hair that seemed to blaze in the sunlight. Abbie estimated that he was at least six-feet tall and his sapphire green eyes made her feel that he was looking straight into her soul. In his hand was a bouquet of red roses that complimented the color of his hair.

Abbie swore that the man's smile was so captivating that she felt her heart skip a beat the moment he smiled at her. While the chubby girl was still in a daze, the handsome man walked towards her with steady steps.

'Um? Why does this guy look familiar?' Abbie snapped out of her stupor when she noticed that the man was approaching her. The man's smile turned into a devilish grin as he stopped right in front of her. He extended his hand and handed the bouquet of flowers to Abbie.

Abbie unconsciously accepted the bouquet and everyone around her gasped in surprise. Britney was also in the vicinity. She saw everything that happened and felt that this was a big scoop in the making. Although she didn't know who the man was, the way he looked at Abbie didn't escape her notice.

A playful smile appeared on her face as she walked forward. She wanted to know the man's identity and what his relationship with Abbie was.

"Hello, do you know each other?" Britney asked.

The man looked at her with a smile and nodded his head. Britney felt her legs turn to jelly due to the handsome man's gaze, but she gritted her teeth and stood in place. She watched as the gorgeous hunk extended his hand and enclosed Abbie in an embrace.

"Who am I? Let me introduce myself…"

The man trailed off as if to tease everyone that was surrounding them. All the girls felt their jaw drop as they saw the handsome man's action. They stood still in shock and amazement as the man hugged the Kung-Fu Panda girl and kissed her forehead in front of them.

After kissing Abbie's forehead, the man faced the crowd and flashed a charming smile at everyone. He wanted to let them know who he was and what his relationship was with the lady in his embrace. All of the students were waiting with bated breath for the words that were about to spill from his seductive lips.

"My name is Alex, and this beautiful lady is none other than my…Fiance."

"F-Fiance?!" Britney gasped in shock, but Alex ignored her. He took the bag from Abbie's hand and half dragged her away from the crowd. The students could only watch as Abbie and Alex disappeared through the entrance of the Resort's Hotel.

"Oh. My. God!" Lackey A shook Britney in excitement. "Did you hear that? Fiance! He said Fiance!"

"I heard it," Britney answered, but her voice was quivering. She never expected that the answer to her question would leave such a big impact on her.

"Let's go. We need to get into the bottom of this." Britney walked briskly towards the hotel. She was hoping that the man named Alex was still inside the lobby of the hotel.

'Alex? The name sounded familiar,' Britney thought as she entered the lobby. Unfortunately, the red-haired hunk and Abbie were nowhere to be found.

"If I remember correctly, the young boy that visited school a few days ago to bring Abbie's lunch was also Alex, correct?" Britney asked her two close friends.

"I believe the boy's name was Alexander," Lackey B replied. "But, Abbie calls him Alex."

Lackey A scratched her hair. "Could it be a coincidence? I mean, a boy couldn't possibly grow up into a man within just a day or two right?"

Britney was also thinking along those lines. This was the real world. She didn't know of a single story, like those only found in novels, where the impossible was made possible because of magic and the likes.

"Let's check in first," Britney said with a frown. "We can investigate later after we deposit our luggage in our rooms."

It was not only Britney who thought that way. Majority of the students who witnessed the scene had the same thing in mind. The news rapidly spread through the ranks of freshmen. Many people saw what happened so it was impossible to hide it. Besides, girls liked to gossip and something as good as this was too hard to ignore.

Ultimately, the news reached Hannah. The beautiful girl's lips curled up into a smile after her friend told her the news.

"Oh my, such an elaborate plan," Hannah said as she carefully arranged her belongings inside the room. "I bet this was all that chubby girl's doing so the rumors about her rejection would disappear."

"What do you mean Hannah?" A pretty girl with long hair tied in a ponytail asked.

"Isn't it obvious? This is just a farce," Hanna scoffed as she looked outside the room's window. Her room was one of the best rooms in the hotel and it was arranged by her family to make her stay in the resort very comfortable. "I bet that fatty paid that boy to act as her 'Fiance' so that people will forget about her failed confession."

The pretty girl pondered for a bit then nodded her head in agreement. Indeed. Abbie just got rejected and two days later she already had a fiance? This was simply too hard to believe.

Of course, the other freshmen had similar thoughts as her. Especially those who hated Abbie. They were the ones who had tried to bully Abbie in the past, but got beaten up due to the chubby girl's prowess in martial arts.

"That fatty couldn't possibly have a fiance. I mean, just look at her. How can she get a man of such caliber?"

"It does sound fishy. Don't worry. Before this trip is over, she will be labeled as the greatest joke in the university."

"Haha! Let's see if she can still show her face after this fiasco is unearthed."

While everyone was having their thoughts, a sophomore finished arranging his clothes inside his room's closet. Adam, who was not supposed to be part of the trip, was there. The reason? He was trying to build a connection with the owner of the resort.

The owner of the Sea Horizon Resort was a big tycoon who monopolized the country's top position in the hotel business. He heard that the owner would be arriving at the resort tomorrow to do an inspection. His family had already made the arrangement to have the two of them become acquainted.

For Adam, this was just another business transaction. Also, he was still feeling down because of Yue's rejection so he decided to take a short vacation as well. It just coincided that the university had chosen this private resort for their school trip.

Since that was the case, Adam would be able to bask in the glory of being the "Prince" and enjoy the hospitality of the ladies from his university. After arranging his things, he decided to head to the resort's cafe to have an afternoon snack. On the way he met a freshman who was also one of his acquaintances.

A teenager wearing spectacles patted his shoulder from the back. "Hey Adam, did you hear the crazy news that is going around among the freshmen?"

"News? What news?" Adam asked back. They had just arrived at the resort and he had no idea what this friend of his was talking about.

"You are not going to believe this, but the Kung Fu Panda Girl…"
