Junior's Tournament (5)

After getting on the platform, her opponent interrupted her thoughts.

"Although you have a higher cultivation than me, the results will not be clear unless we fought!"

Xiao Yan heard this and smirked, "Then do your best to prove my words wrong!"

Her opponent was a guy in the Peak level 6th step Qi Condensation stage. When the referee announced the beginning of the fight, sparks of lightning are seen manifesting on the hands of Xiao Yan's opponent.

"Lightning Bolt"

Xiao Yan manages to block the spell with one of her hand. She was caught of guard as the spell was faster than the others.

It was given that lightning spell would be the fastest. But she already has experience fighting Lightning Spell Cultivators on the school, and their's were slower.

As for the reason that she blocked with her hand despite her spiritual energy covering her, it was to avoid being interrupted while casting a spell. She had to stop the supply of energy, but it was better than her own spell collapsing on her.

'This guy indeed has the skills for him to talk like that. I've been waiting for this kind of a good fight in a long time.' Xiao Yan thought as she makes the distance between them closer.

Fighting Mu Yue was indeed considered good, but that was only when Mu Yue was fighting with all she has. If Mu Yue only uses spells, Xiao Yan can easily beat her. Not because Mu Yue was weak with spells but they have been fighting each other for quite some time now that Xiao Yan was used to her fighting style.

She reminded Mu Yue to consider having multiple fighting style, which Mu Yue tried to learn. Well, she tried but wasn't able to learn something better. First, Mu Yue is also a Sword Cultivator. Although she tried doing both at the same time, she find it easier to learn using the sword. Second, she always tries to find a way to be able to use both at the same time which tooked a lot of her time.

Back on Xiao Yan's fight, when she was in the effective range of her spells, she sent all four spells towards her enemy.

Out of the four 'Fire Bolt' spells, three hit the enemy. She also noticed that her opponent hasn't tried to stack his 'lightning bolts'. Her opponent launch his spells after their creation. Out of the additional two that were sent to her, only one landed on Xiao Yan.

'Is it like a trade-off to his unique spell? ' Xiao Yan thought while the two attacked each other.

The difference between sending the spells one by one and launching at the same time has something to do with their damage caused. Sending it one by one will enable you to send the spells in different directions, ensuring that if you miss the first attack, you can still try to land the others.

If it was stacked, all spells will only go towards a direction. Stacked spells also has an 'increase in damage'. Not that the spells get empowered, but them landing on the same spot increases the damage dealt as more spells land.

The time it takes for you to launch the same number of spells was also lower when they are stacked. You would not have to waste time by sending one at a time.

"Lightning Ray"

Her opponent's spell landed directly at her. It was a continuous attack and would have been able to deal a lot of damage to her if she was not able to dodge most of it.

"He is a good opponent, pity that he met me." Xiao Yan muttered as she defeated her opponent after a while.

She was faster in casting, have more damaging spells and wasn't interrupted when she received attacks. Reasons why she defeated her opponent.

Lightning Spell Cultivators have an advantage when fighting Fire Spell Cultivators as they have more spells for single targets. Xiao Yan, however, easily dealt with his opponent's advatages. With her constantly fighting the agile Mu Yue, she was used to dealing with fast attacks like the 'Lightning Bolt'.

After fixing her appearance, Xiao Yan followed the staff towards her next opponent.

Meanwhile, the guy who was defeated was staring at her back. Having an expression of admiration as well as worship. He was someone who was expected to be in the top 3 yet here he was, defeated in his first fight and by a girl too.
