Knowing More

Xiao Yan woke up and saw that Mu Yue's red eyes were staring at her. She then asked, "So... do you need something?"

"Your blood." Mu Yue replied.

"I thought so." Xiao Yan said. She then mentioned, "You said you no longer need blood. Was that a lie?"

"That's what I know at that time. Now, I think I might have to depend on your blood."

Xiao Yan sat up and moved the clothing away from her shoulder. "Go ahead."

"Thank you. Ahh-" Mu Yue bits and begun to drink blood.

Xiao Yan then saw that the towel slipped of Mu Yue. To look or to not look? The answer was simple.

"You feast on my blood while I feast with my eyes."

"Hmm?" Mu Yue then felt too much air and looked down. She quickly left just after she licked the last drop of blood.

"And there she runs... Maybe I should not have mentioned it? Oh well, time to cook."

Mu Yue then went back to the room only to not see Xiao Yan. She then heard Xiao Yan calling for her on the balcony so she went there. Two bouls of soup were on the table.

"As promised, my cooking. Not my recipe though because that would be too much for me... but at least, it's not my mother's cooking that I practiced for too much to count times."

Mu Yue tasted the soup and muttered, "Too salty."

"But is it so bad that you won't eat it?"

"It's still edible so I will eat."

"Great! I might have miscalculated the amount of salt needed but that's the recipe's fault! It never mentioned the exact amount needed."

Mu Yue then remembered something. She hesitated but still asked, "Xiao Yan, when is your birthday?"

"Birthday? Oh! The event that the mortals celebrate. Mine should have passed already. I think it was in the month of your advancement."

"Why did you not tell me? I would have wanted to celebrate it."

"Cultivators live for a long time if they don't get killed. Us two now can reach more than 100 years of age. How about yours?"

"I don't know. Nothing mentioned my birthdate. I just knew my current age as that would be the number of years from the day I was found."

"It would be funny if you are actually older than me! Want the principal to check the age of your bones? Most of the time, it accurately tells your real age."

"Maybe after I master my ability."

"Alright, that would be your priority huh?" Xiao Yan mumbled. She then thought of something and asked, "Can other types of blood satisfy your thirst? I prefer you do not drink another human's blood. I won't have any problem with it's the blood from a beast. Sorry, that might be too much of me."

"I knew your reason, jealousy was it? That however was a good point. Since I already drank your blood, I should do it maybe next week. Your blood can keep me quenched for around a month."

"If the beast's blood was not comparable to mine... then that would mean I'm special!!!" Xiao Yan exclaimed.

"Mhm"

"Goodluck to your practice Mu Yue. Make sure to take proper rest after some time. If you do it again, I'll be locking you up for myself!"

"Want me to do it again?" Mu Yue asked as the last part was not that bad.

"I would be lying if I say no but I prefer if you take care of your body. Also, what were you trying to accomplish on your constant practice?" Xiao Yan asked.

"Walk to the middle of the pond with ice under my feet."

"Then practice some lightness skills and that would help you."

"That is a helpful tip. But, if I only wanted to walk on water, I could have just done that in the first place. What I wanted was to learn how to control ice."

"Oh. I'll just practice by your side then. Maybe you could have some inspiration from me."

"Thank you, that would be helpful."

Although both do not have the same element nor the same way of making spells, it can still give some clues for Mu Yue. Besides that, practicing with Xiao Yan will make her more determined to be successful.

Both of them, as the principal said, work best together. And as this was mentioned, the principal has been planning since on something the two of them might not like.
