Chapter 32

I would of yelled out in pain had it not been for the fact that his face was literally three centimetres away and his grey eyes staring deeply into me like he was about to devour me whole.

Why am I always left in such a position!?

Just as his lips were about to touch mine, I move my head to the side where I felt his lips on my cheek. He looks at me with a frown, as if trying to understand why I did that.

I sigh tiredly. "I'm sorry. It's just that..."

"You have feelings for Kyle." He finished off, getting up off me and putting his hands in the pockets of his jeans.

I frown, standing up and dusting my jeans. "Its not like I can control what I feel and to whom I feel it for."

He scoffs. "Yeah right. These past six months, tell me who was by your side the entire time." He grits out, staring at me intensely.

"You." I whisper

"Who made sure you got back to your dorm safe every single night?" He grits out harsher.

"You." I repeat softly, avoiding eye contact.

"Who made sure you ate and didn't starve yourself whilst you were too busy thinking about someone else?"

I stare blankly at the ground before replying. "You."

"Who always made you smile despite your current situation?" He whispers, walking to closer to me where he lifted my head by my chin, staring intently into my eyes.

"You." I breathe out, watching as his lips came closer and soon met mine a slow sweet rhythm.

"Don't you see, Rose? You and I, we were made for each other." His voice was gentle and soft, almost soothing and I couldn't help it that I leaned in closer, wanting to feel those lips again.

"Wait, wait, wait now wait a minute!" Laura shrieks early in the morning the following day.

"Ugh shut up! I have a headache." I groan, rubbing my temples in hopes of lessening the pain.

"But....You.....and.....He.....NO WAY!"

"What part of 'shut up' don't you freakin understand!?"

"All of it, now tell me what the lady gaga you were thinking when you kissed him?" Her hands slam on the table, her eyes holding a look of horror. "And twice at that!"

"I...I really don't.... know..." I sit up straighter, thinking as realisation hit me. "Holy shit...Why did I kiss him!?" My headache was long forgotten by now.

"I thought you liked Kyle?"

"Well yeah, I do but....I'm so confused. I don't understand why I did that." I rub my face tiredly.

"Maybe you were drunk?"Laura suggests quite ridiculously may I add.

"You know I don't drink, you pathetic muggle!"

She just looks at me whilst sipping her Vitamin water. "Well he is hot, so if you wanna hook up with him in our dorm, just tell me when you're appointments will be."

I choke on my own saliva as I stare wide eyed at the brunette. "Our dorm is not a fucking clinic!"

She throws her head back laughing loudly. "Oh Rose, you really do make my day."

"Hi you two, whats up?" Lewis says, joining us at the lunch table outside the cafeteria in the grass area.

"Rose kissed Alec. Twice." Laura says, shaking her head mockingly, almost as if I'm a disappointment.

Lewis just stares at me, taking a bite into his apple. "That's....nice." He clears his throat, shifting uncomfortable as he taps his foot on the concrete ground.

"Do you ever keep your trap shut?" I snap irritated.

"I guess not because oh my goddess, Alec is coming here." She squeals.  "Okay act natural like we weren't just discussing him." She then gets into a ridiculous pose almost like she was thinking whilst staring at the sky.

"Honestly, if you ever murder anyone, you might as well leave your name on the dead body."

"That's rude." Laura tuts and I shrug.

"Rose, can I talk to you for a moment, in private?" Alec asks, staring at me with a heart melting smile.

I was about to deny his offer to 'talk in private' as what he has to say can be said in front of these two weirdos but the way he was looking at me, had me forgetting how to say no. "Yeah, sure."

"Go get em gurl!" Laura cheers with a huge grin whilst Lewis fiddles with his phone.

"I'm going to talk, not make babies." I chuckle, following after Alec.

Standing in a deserted corridor, I look at Alec, waiting for him to talk. "So...What'd you wanna talk about?"

"I'm having dinner with my parents this Saturday night at six so they can see how I've....progressed and I want you to come with me."

Progressed? What is he a criminal out of jail?

"So.... why not go alone?" I question, curiously.

"It gets kinda awkward and I haven't really seen them in months." He says nervously, scratching the back of his head.

I smile. "Sure thing, should I dress up casually or formally?"

"Anything really, I just want you there."

The bell went off, signalling the end of lunch and the start of fifth period. "Alright, I'll see you then." I wave, walking to my next class.

-

"Hi, ready to go?"

"Yup, let me just get my phone." I decided to dress simple and casual because why the hell not? It wasn't like it was a date or something.

Entering his black Lexus, I could feel his eyes on me. "What?" I laugh nervously, tugging a strand of hair behind my ear.

He shakes his head smiling. "Nothing, you look beautiful."

I blush, looking down at my hands. "Thanks. Its kinda in the genes you know." Damn me and my nerdy bio talk!

You're embarrassing yourself Rose. Just shut up.

"Alec, you made it!" A woman with blonde hair says surprised, grabbing him in for a hug. "Oh...and who's this?" She questions looking at me with what seemed like a worried expression.

"This is my friend, Rose." Alec introduces me.

"Hey." I smile, offering my hand to which she shook, however with a pained smile.

Whats up with her?

"Come in, dinner is nearly ready."

Taking a seat on the couches in the living room, Alec sits besides me whilst the T.V was on in the background. "Are you sure your mum is okay with me being here. I feel like this is meant to be a family dinner."

"Don't worry about her, shes probably had a bad day or something."

I shrug. "Alright then."

"Alec, come and help set the table please." His mum calls from the kitchen.

"Stay here, okay?"

I nod, watching him leave.

Not long after, his dad decides to join me. "Hello dear, I'm John." He smiles, shaking my hand.

"Rose."

"So, what brings you here with Alec today? He didn't force or threaten you did he?"

I laugh, thinking that he was only joking but the look on his face told me otherwise.

I awkwardly shift in my spot. "Uhm..No, he asked me if I wanted to come and I agreed."

This is why I hate humans, they can make you feel so awkward.

"Are you sure? It's okay, I wont let him hurt you."

What the hell....Do they think their son is...

"No really, he offered and I accepted."

He only nods, still noticeably unconvinced.

"Dinners ready!" Alec yells, walking in the living room and eyeing his dad suspiciously.

"So how's school, honey." Julia, Alec's mother asks as she takes a bite into her delicious lasagna.

"You know, the usual; draining." Alec laughs and I join in too.

"It's your future, not ours, so make the most of it or else you'll regret it later when you have a job that barely pays enough for one meal." His mum lectures seriously.

Damn, they remind me of my parents.

Alec only rolls his eyes. "Mum, people have become millionaires and they haven't even been to university."

"Well, with your shocking criminal records, I doubt anyone will want to hire you." She argues back, not liking his response.

I froze however at her words.

Criminal records?

As if realising what she just said, Julia drops her fork onto her plate and stares at Alec terrified. His dad slowly brings his hands up and covers his face, almost like he knew what was about to happen and that it would end terribly.

"What did you say?" Alec grits out furiously.

"I...uhh...n-nothing, it was a joke honey, I swear!" The poor woman looked pale. It was as if she was seeing death right before her eyes.

"I'm only kidding, Rose. I tend to make stupid jokes when guests are over." She forces a smile, staring at me, waiting for a reaction. They were all waiting for a reaction.

I think they expected me to bolt for the door and call the police and I considered that for a moment had it not been for the fact that Alec had grabbed my wrist from under the table and held it in a painfully tight grip. All my plans of escaping this creepy family had vanished.

"Rose and I will be leaving." He grits out harshly and drags me up from my chair, still holding my wrist tightly and begins to drag me towards their front door.

"Thank you for dinner." I call out over my shoulder, feeling sorry for the woman.

"No, Alec stop!" John runs after us, trying to stop Alec. "Don't hurt her."

Alec only chuckles coldly. His face looked villainous, as if he were truly a criminal. "What's wrong father, still think I'm the same mental son that you regret having?"

"Leave her out of this or else I'll call the police. I'll make sure you'll stay in juvie for another year." His dad threatens but Alec only grins sickly back.

It all happened too fast. One second John was glaring at his son, the next he was on the floor, clutching his abdomen as blood oozed out and a look of pain and agony etched onto his face.

He stabbed him. . . He fucking stabbed his own father!

However, before I could even react, I was shoved into his car where he locked the doors and sped off.

I was paralysed in my spot out of shock. I didn't move. I didn't blink. I didn't even know if I was breathing but after a few seconds of recovering from my shock, I let out a blood-curdling scream which surprised Alec, causing him to lose control of the wheel and smash into another car.
