|Rose's P.O.V|
Later that night, after returning from my visit to Laura, who by the way is already looking big since she is five months pregnant, I open my laptop and search William Jones online and my screen was suddenly loaded with articles and news videos about him that I was shocked for a few seconds.
I clicked a random website and in a matter of seconds, a whole article popped up.
The title itself had me angry. Do they think they're funny for using a Harry Potter reference? I roll my eyes. Obviously they'd do anything to get reads.
| William Jones - the boy who lived
He was only fifteen years young when he watched his family brutally murdered right before his eyes. In a desperate attempt to keep his mothers words and stay alive, he flees before the killers could get to him. Dave and Clarissa, the savage killers, have been caught two months and will receive life imprisonment for the mass slaughter of the well known and loved Jones family.
Sources say that the orphaned boy attends a well known and prestigious boarding school for the past three years whilst police desperately hunted for the two suspected killers.
Out hearts and prayers go to the jones family as hundreds had gathered for the burial ceremony held for this beloved family. |
Ceremony? What ceremony? When was this? I was so confused that is until I saw the date. It was dated a few months ago when Mal's parents were caught.
Wait..So the media only recently found out about him? I guess it makes sense the media and news agency didn't know about this when it first happened three years ago as it was to keep Kyle on a low profile so they can find Mal's parents before they found Kyle.
WAIT! Is that where Kyle went when I saw him sneaking in the boarding school months ago after knowing that we are highly prohibited from leaving during weekdays?
I got in trouble trying to find his record file when I tried to sneak in my dad's office with Lewis and all along he was visiting the ceremony they held for his family.
I felt a tear slip out. That would explain why he was in a bad mood that day. But...he never told me or anything. Why did he deal with all this on his own?
I closed the tab and shut my laptop, staring blankly ahead.
Coincidentally, my phone lets out a sound telling me that I had a new message. And it just happened to be the one person that currently occupied my mind.
Idiot: Where r u?
I sniff, remembering back to the first day I met him where because I didn't know his name, I called him 'idiot.' And even after I knew his name, I was too stubborn to let go of the oh so amazing and unique name I had given him.
Kinda suited him at the time. I chuckle lightly to myself and begin typing a reply.
Rose: I'm at my dorm.
Idiot: What r u doing?
Rose: So many questions! Wouldn't u like to know 😝
Idiot: R u naked or something ;)
I roll my eyes. I can seriously imagine him smirking right now.
Rose: No! I was doing some research
Technically, I wasn't lying...
Idiot: So u wouldn't mind if I came over?
Idiot: Mal and Lewis are giving me a headache
I bolt up from my bed and run to my wardrobe to find something decent to wear whilst brushing my hair with my hands. I need a half an hour warning at the very least!
Oh crap, I'm taking too long to answer!
Rose: Yeah sure :)
The second I hit send, there was a knock at the door.
I squeal in surprise and quickly get out of my panda onesie and put on some decent looking sweatpants and a jumper.
"I knew you were naked in there." He smirks just as I opened the door, looking and feeling out of breath.
"I wasn't!" I defend, mortified.
"What ever you say, Chi chi."
"Get rid of that smirk. I'm not the type of person who walks around in my room or house naked just because I am alone. It feels weird. Like there could be a pedophile watching me from my window or something or like a stupid idiot who randomly decides to pop up out of no where because he desperately wants to hang out with me because I am just that aweso-"
"No one asked for your life story..." He cuts, causing me to turn red from both humiliation and anger.
"You are so rude!"
"Well observed." grinning immaturely, he plops himself down on my bed and opens up my laptop.
Shit...I didn't delete the history! He'll think I am a stalker!
Even though I was kinda stalking him...
I dash and jump on top of him, squashing him flat whilst I snatched my laptop out of his hands and bolted off him.
"Argh! That was my side that your elbow landed gracefully on." He winces in pain as he sits back up, rubbing his side.
It was then I realised that one, he didn't even know my password, and two, I just made myself look suspicious.
"I see what it is..." He begins. "You were watching something bad." He shakes his head in disappointment though with a smirk.
"WHAT!? NO-I was, just- You know-" I bite my lip as he raises his eyebrow. "Okay, fine. I'll tell you. I was doing some online shopping for your birthday and I hadn't closed the tab and I just, you know, didn't want to ruin the surprise for you."
"My birthday was nine months ago..."
"Early present?"
"Rose." He says sternly, standing up and walking towards me
I gulp nervously. He didn't call me Chi chi.
"Is someone bullying you online?" His voice held anger but it wasn't targeted towards me. In fact, his eyes held a great deal of worry and concern that I felt bad that I had lied to him.
"No, nothing like that." I whisper.
"Then why are you scared to tell me? I thought we could trust each other?"
"Because you'd get angry." I mumble, avoiding his eyes.
"Its about me then." He nods then sits on the small two-seater couch I had recently added to the room. I go and sit beside him.
"I'm not angry. I understand your curiosity." He shrugs, running a hand through his hair.
I was not expecting that reply or reaction...
"Which article was it? Some have complete bullshit in them."
"Uhm, I'm not exactly sure but most of the stuff they had on there, I already knew."
"Most?"
"Yeah, I didn't know there was a ceremony held for your family. I wish I went with you."
He only sighs and stretches his hand behind me. "Life goes on. No point wishing upon what could have been or what could have happened. It's all gone and happened. Can't change that."
I nod, picking at my nail. "I guess."
"Did the article have a good picture of me though?" He grins, looking at me.
I laugh and shake my head. "You could look like you came out of a war and still look good and I am pretty sure you know that as well, seeing as your ego is as limitless as the universe."
"Well observed." He chuckles.
I groan in annoyance and give his chest a little shove. "Will you stop saying that!"
"It's not my fault that you're always pointing out the obvious. Seriously, no kidding it wasn't sunny earlier today, even the blind knew that yet you pointed at the sky and almost yelled it out."
"I did not! Now you're just exaggerating." I cross my arms and turn my body away from his.
He chuckles lightly as I suddenly feel his body moving even closer to me. I felt a hot breath on my neck, then the tender brush of lips, burning as they make contact with my neck.
He gently grabs my chin and makes me face towards him. His hand runs through my hair. "Have I told you how fucking beautiful you are?" He whispers as he slowly leans in and captures my lips in slow yet fierce battle. As the kisses become harder and more urgent another hand slides around my waist, and pulls me closer to his cologne scented body.
I moan softly into the kiss and tug on his hair a little harder as my back slowly meets the cushion of the couch and he soon positions himself on top of me.
We were suddenly interrupted by the all to familiar announcement we hear every night.
'Attention students. Anyone who isn't in their own dorm right now should make their way so immediately. Anyone caught not in their dorms will suffer through serious consequences so please make your way over. Thank you'
I groan unconsciously then cover my face from embarrassment as I realised what I had just done.
"I know I'm tempting, babe. Try not to be too upset about my departure."
"Departure? Honestly, what century are we living in?" I laugh, walking with him to the door.
"I'll have you know that I am quite fond of literature. Nothing better than a good ol classic, especially the romantic language." He smiles then walks out.
He suddenly then stops and walks back up to me and pulls me closer to him, wrapping his arms around me. His embrace was warm, and his big, strong arms seemed very protective when wrapped around my body. The world around me melted away as I squeezed him back, not wanting the moment to end.
"I'll see you tomorrow, Chi chi." He gives my cheek a small peck and does the salute gesture as he begins walking away.
The thing about him that I absolutely loved, was that he never said 'bye'. It was always, 'I'll see you soon/tomorrow/later.' It gave me comfort and reassured me that he'll definitely be there and keep his words. He was confident and pretty determined to make an effort to see me even if it's just once a day.
Simple gestures as such can make anyone feel special, wanted and loved.
I went to sleep that night with the biggest smile I could possibly have, for once looking forward to the sun rising.
