It was Saturday morning and I was sitting in the great hall with Harry eating breakfast. I had been waiting for the weekend to come. Especially because of a certain teacher. Ever since the last time I was alone with him, he always stares at me. Although it wasn't his usual icy stare. It was more of a "looking at an injured baby animal" type of stare and I am not sure which one is worse.
"So Y/N, I was thinking we could hit up The Three Broomsticks and maybe Honeydukes?" Harry said. Pulling me out of my thoughts.
"Ya that sounds good." I replied. I looked up at the teachers table to see only a few teachers up there. I locked eyes with some dark ones. Snape.
"Are you ok Y/N?" I pulled my eyes away from him.
"Huh? Yea I am. I just... spaced out."
"Oh ok. Look! It's time to go!!" he said joyously as he hopped out of his seat. I got out of my seat. Harry and I walked out of the great hall together.
When we got to Three Broomsticks Harry held the door open for me. I blushed a little.
"Thanks" I said as I walked past him into the establishment. It was quite empty in here for being a Hogsmeade trip. Harry walked in and he went over to a 2 person table near the middle of the room. Great. Now people are going to look at me. People are going to look at me anyways because I am with him! Why did I not think of this beforehand?? I sat down across from harry.
"Do you want butterbeer?" he asked.
"Sure"
"Two butterbeers" he yelled over to the guy at the bar. "So Y/N, what hobbies do you have?" he asked me.
"Well, I like to read."
"That's cool. I don't really like to read. Hermionie does though. What's your favorite class?"
"Umm.." What was my favorite class? I really like defence against the dark arts and I used to like potions until that happened. " Probably Defence against the dark arts and potions." I said
"Same! Well atleast for defence against the dark arts. I love that class. Potions suck though. No offence. Snape is a git."
"He can be." I responded. A short fat man came around from the bar carrying two butterbeers. He came over to our table.
"Hear ya go. One for a pretty lady and one for.." he trailed off. "Is it really Mr. Harry Potter!?!?!" harry blushed
"Hehe ya I am." he laughed. Well, time to go. I downed my butterbeer.
"See ya back at the castle harry." I stood up and speed walked towards the door. Not waiting for an answer. Once I was out in the streets of Hogsmeade, I felt alone. I would have stayed with Harry had it not been for that one man. If this is what dating Harry felt like, I wouldn't be able to do it. I just can't do any attention on me and if I continue to date Harry, all the attention would be on us in the papers. With all those thoughts running through my head, I knew one thing was certain. I did not like Harry Potter any more. Of course I still liked him as a friend but, I don't have a crush anymore. I looked around me and spotted a bookshop down the street. I headed towards the shop. When I opened the door a bell jingled. The bookshop was dusty and old. I walked through a few aisles running my fingers along the spines. I found myself in the back of the bookshop in a corner as always. I guess I just gravitate towards corners. I looked on the shelf and a book on the top caught my eye. I reached up to get it but, of course I was too short. All the sudden a hand extended from beside me and grabbed the book. I turned and was facing a very tall man wearing all black. Snape. He extended the book out to me.
"This what you want?" he asked. I nodded my head and took the book.
"Thanks"
"Of course. Now next time, don't go out on a date with Potter. It always is going to end like this.
"How did you know I was on a date with Harry?"
"I was in Three Broomsticks. I saw what happened." he said in an almost sad voice.
"Oh" I blushed. He suddenly reached his arm out and patted me on the shoulder. He gave me a small smile. I was shocked. He then took his hand off my shoulder and awkwardly walked away. He probably just feels bad for me. I looked down at the book I was holding. It was a romance. My face instantly turned pink.
