After remaining frozen for a while and making sure that no other birds of prey would swoop down and accidently take his head off, Lee allowed himself to keep on moving forward towards the river, the sound of the bubbles popping and babbling and breaking, and the water rushing past of the reeds, becoming louder and louder, the noise taking up most of his hearing.
After trekking a little further on, his boots beginning got sink into the mud around him, uncomfortable and ugly squelching sounds arising form the motion, Lee eventually caught sight of a gleaming surface of dark blue and silver.
Happily, a smile broke out on Lee's exhausted face, as he let out a deep breath of relief.
Moving a little faster, on the verge of running, Lee quickly made his way to the water's edge, uncaring of how his body sank deeper and deeper into the earth the closer he came.
His clothes were already dirty and a complete mess that already needed to be washed, and he didn't particularly care at that point at how muddy he was becoming.
Sinking down to his knees at the water's edge, Lee washed all the dust and grime and sweat off his hands, pulling them out of the icy current again squeaky clean and slightly numb and blue from his quick and instinctual decision and action.
He put his hands up against his warm and presumably red face, feeling at how the cold invigorated him and slightly stung the skin there, his teeth reacting to the temperature shock as well.
And it was then that his brain fully registered that he was able to feel temperature and the cold again.
He has passed the God of Strength's limitations and was no longer under his protection.
The God of War could come down from the sky at any moment now and kill him in a single blow that he would never see coming.
Lee quickly scrambled to fill up the water skin bags as quickly as he could with the river water.
His hands and fingers shook as he tried to fiddle with the string to untie them and open them up to be filled, cursing himself as he shoved too of his fingers into his mouth to try and warm them up even quicker to allow him to complete his task as quickly as he could.
He didn't even notice when he had crossed out of the God of Strength's sphere of influence, or when he was able to begin even feeling temperature.
But now, Lee shivered from the cold of the night air, almost seeing his breath puff up in the moonlight.
He knew that the sun would be coming up soon, and couldn't wait for it.
He would definitely spend the next day sleeping under the sun's light and warmth where he had set up his base in the coffin house, not the best place to stay with the power of hindsight, but Lee was unwilling to move from there, seeing that the room was one of the most well preserved structures in the town on the other side of the lake.
