4:56 pm

(Ivan's POV)

I, Jax, and Qaid stop in the middle of the woods and look around. Qaid looked over his shoulder and to us.

"You think this is far enough?"

Jax shrugged as I flew up. I looked around. The camp looked far, I doubt anyone would come near this place. I float down and land softly on my feet.

"It's far enough." Jax looked towards me and stretched his hand out.

"Can we have the axes now?" I nod as I form two axes in my hand. I hand them over to Jax and Qaid. They both take the axes from my hands with hesitation. I grab my own ax and start heading towards a tree. I wind back my arms and swing at the tree. I wind my arms again and swing.

After a few swings, the tree finally falls down on its side. I walk over to another tree and look at my arms. I sigh as I know that cutting down trees would take a while. I wind back my arms and channel my magic into my arms. I strike at the tree. The tree cut through a quarter of the tree before stopping. I wind back my arms until I think of something. I throw the ax to the side. I use wind slash to make a tiny line. I repeat the process until hieroglyphs were formed from the lines. I take several steps back before snapping my fingers. I cover my face with the arms as bark flew off the tree. I hear Qaid shout in the distance. I look behind me and see him looking at me with a confused face. I shake my head as I turn around to walk to another tree.

I make the hieroglyphs on the tree with Wind Slash. I step back and snap my fingers. I repeat the process a few times until I was out of Mp. I smile as I saw how many trees were on the ground. I look over at Qaid and Jax. They barely cut down three trees. I close my eyes as I felt blood run through my veins. I breathe out as my Mp bar starts to refill. I stare off into the woods as my Mp bar slowly filled up. I blink several times as my Mp bar filled up. I walk up to a tree and start repeating the process over again.

I jump as a strong hand grabbed my shoulder. I look up and see Coach staring at the hieroglyphs I made.

"What are you doing?" He said in a suspicious tone. I gulp as I answer.

"Clearing out trees."

"Why?" Qaid, covered in sweat, suddenly appeared by Coach's side.

"Hi, Coach. Why are you here?" He said as he pushed me to the sides and leaned against the hieroglyphs. Is he hiding it?

"I heard explosions. Usually, when I hear explosions, it isn't good. So can you guys tell me, why I hear explosions from the camp?" Qaid jabbed me in the stomach as he answered.

"Sorry sir, we're just clearing out trees," He pointed to me. "Ivan here wanted to do it quickly." I try my best to not glare at Qaid. Coach rubbed his chin as he stared at me.

"Why are cutting trees?" Before Qaid could answer, I tap his shoulder and respond.

"To make a lake."

"A lake?"

"Yeah." Coach stared at me like he wanted more information. I bite my lip as I tell give more information. "You know, for a plumbing system." Coach stared at me with a look that said that he didn't believe me.

"Ivan, can I speak to you in private?" I looked at Qaid as he looked back. He tilted his head in the direction of Coach. I look back up at Coach. I nervously nod. He nodded back and walked in a random direction. We took a couple of random turns until we were near the border of the camp. I looked up at the wall in wonder. How did they build this? It's got to be at least a few miles tall. The buildings here can barely stand, and yet they can build this? Weird.

I turn to Coach as he stared at me silently.

"So what did you want to-" My eyes widen as a white blur smashed into the side of my face. My feet leave the ground and I slam into a nearby tree. My head throbbed with pain as I heard soft hissing in my ears. I slowly stand up, I swayed from side to side as everything swirled around. I squeeze my eyes and quickly open them. Before I knew it a loud boom burst my ears. I quickly cover my ears. I groan out in pain as I felt something wet flow down. The sound suddenly stopped. I look around and see Coach nowhere to been seen.

I sense something sneak up behind me. Before it could do anything, I launch myself forward with the wind. I take out Retribution as I saw a hand come grab the tree I was just thrown into. Coach stepped out from behind the tree. His mouth moved but it only came out of muffles. In a blink of an eye, he appeared right in front of me. He grabbed my ears. His hands suddenly started glowing. The pain in my head faded as I suddenly hear the wind whoosh by my ears. He let go softly. Not even a second leader I felt a numbing feeling in my hands as I hear my swords drop on the ground. I look down and see my hands covered with this white mold-like substance. I suddenly feel my neck tingle. I tried to doge but he suddenly grabbed my throat and squeezed.

I activate Wind Aura in an attempt to defend myself. The wind struggled to tear off his skin, tiny streams of blood flowed down his hand. I stop Wind Aura and send a Wind Arrow in his eye. The arrow hit his eye. The arrow suddenly stopped before it bounced off and flew into the sky. I flail my body around and try kicking my legs at him. My legs didn't reach him. I close my eyes as I imagine a ball of air float towards him. I hear the wind whoosh in my ears as a ball formed right in front of his face. His eyes widened as the ball touched his face.

Skin flew off his face as he let go of me. I jump back as Coach was thrown into a random tree. I saw big patches of pink flesh could on his left cheek. His nose wasn't even there anymore. Specs of white could be seen if you looked closely enough, I wince as I saw a dark black hole where his nose should be. I gulp as he put his hand up to where his nose should be. I back up as he calmly walked towards me. The flesh in his cheek began moving like Jell-o. Skin slowly formed from out of nowhere. As his nose slowly formed back.

"Where did you learn about Heka?" I flew up and landed on a branch close to the ground. I nervously crouch down and tightly grabbed the branch with two hands I stare down at him as I respond.

"I have no idea what that is." Another white blur suddenly came out nowhere. The branch beneath me flew up into the distance. My body fell on the roots coming out of the ground. I look up at him as he stood up over me. The white blur suddenly came for my neck. I was suddenly lifted up into the air and into the hands of Coach. He slammed me into the wall before I could speak. I struggled to respond as his grip tightened. My body froze up as I thought about what to do.

I could tell him about Goldie. But I have a feeling that if I told him that I know a Kitsune, he would get angry. What should I even do? His grip suddenly tightened as he waited for a response. I suddenly remember a book I read on one of my bookshelves.

"Bo- book of the dead," I say in a raspy voice as I struggled to breathe. He let go of me and stepped back.

"You read that book?" I breathe in deeply as I nod.

"What is it about then?"

"I didn't really understand it, but isn't it supposed to protect the dead." He looked at me with a blank expression. "I saw the hieroglyphs and just kind it wrote it down somewhere."

"Oh." I felt like smiling as I knew that I just got away with it. "You know what's weird though?"

"What."

"I don't remember any spells that make things explode." Shit. I stared at him helplessly as I didn't know what to say. "It is true that there are spells in the Book of the Dead, but they help in the afterlife. The other spells." He pointed to me. "That you just used, are written somewhere else. It's just that normal people haven't found it yet." He stepped forward. "Which means, that someone thought you, or you just happened to find it."

"I-i, uh." I barely stammer out.

"Seeing that Egypt is nowhere near Chicago, it's safe to assume that someone did teach it to you. The problem is that you're a Shinto demigod. If you found out about Heka, you probably figured out that the gods worshipped in Egypt exist." My chest tightened as two boxes suddenly appeared in front of me.

They both suck! I leave them open as Coach still kept talking.

"If you found that out." He stretched out his hand with an open palm. A long slightly curved sword suddenly appeared in his hand. "I have to kill you." Before he could do anything I launch myself to the side. I land awkwardly land on the side of my foot. I groan as a shock of pain traveled up my leg.

"Hold on, hold on!"

"What." He impatiently said.

"I-uh." I stared him right in the eye as Gamer's Mind activated.

"Why does it matter, if I know Heka? I know like, two or three spells."

"The problem isn't how you know them. The problem is where you learned it and that you know about the Egyptian gods." He slowly walked towards me as I tried to calm him down.

"I can see why it's a problem about where I learned it but knowing about the Egyptian gods? I feel like that doesn't matter, what Am'I supposed to do with that information anyway?" He stopped dead in his tracks and stared at the ground.

"I do agree that knowing about the Egyptian gods doesn't matter, unfortunately, the gods don't care about what I think." He rested his sword on his shoulder. "If you can somehow give me a good reason as to how you know Heka, I might let you live, but I won't let you back into the camp." I take a shaky deep breath.

"I did learn some spells from the Book of the Dead, but I learned it from a Kitsune," I said with a gulp.

"You learned it from a yokai? Which is Japanese. How did she learn of it?"

"I don't know I said in a squeaky voice."

"I do know that Kitsune can be good. I can think that as a possibility." He stayed silent for a moment. "How old is this Kitsune?"

"You know the Great Chicago fire?"

"Yes."

"Like before that. Wait no! I do remember saying something about the Civil War."

"Is her first name Catherine?"

"No."

"Hmm." He stayed silent for a moment. "You are planning to work on improving the camp right?" I slowly nod my head. He suddenly disappeared in a blink of an eye. I felt my shirt lift up then back down again. I look behind me and see a seven-foot figure looming over me.

The figure had swirling black and white skin. Its knees and elbows were covered with speakers. Its hands had a long sharp thin needled coming out of its middle knuckle. Its eyes glowed a bright white. The figure had no mouth, it only had eyes and a nose. The figure quickly turned into Coach again. I stared in disbelief at what I just saw.

"I will you give you six months," he said as he held up six fingers before putting his hands back down. "to get the plumbing system running." Can I even do it in that time? "If you can't do it in time, I will you make you kill yourself." I blink slowly as I tried to process what he said. Isn't that just murder?

"How?" He calmly crouched and raised his fist. I crawl back as his arm turned into the same exact arm as the monster's arm. He punched the ground, the spike broke off his fist, and ecstatically moved around in the dirt. It left these weird white glowing scribbles. They didn't look special. They only looked like spikes that went up and down randomly. He pointed at the scribbles.

"I don't know if you know this, but sound often moves in a wave-like pattern. With my power, I can write down those waves and recreate those sounds. I suddenly hear footsteps from my side. I look to the side and only see an empty forest. I notice in the corner of my eye that the scribbles stopped glowing. I look at him.

"How is sound going to make me kill myself?"

"You ever heard of tinnitus?" I nod as an uneasy feeling formed in my stomach. "In very rare cases the people can't take it no more. The ringing hurts so much that they decide to end their life." I look down blankly at the floor as I wonder how if there was a way to avoid it. "If you somehow find out a way around it, I also more waves of sound into your ear that can explode your head." I quickly look up in fear. "Sound is a wonderful thing." He got up and stretched out his hand in the direction of my swords. The swords flew into his hands. I stare helplessly as he put the swords on top of each other and grabbed the hilt. He used his other hand to grab the tips of the swords. In one swift motion, he broke my swords in half. Tears formed in my eyes as he threw the swords on the ground.

"I don't where you got these weapons. They seem normal, but considering that you know about Heka and have been sneaking out of the camp. I can't let you have any weapons." I grit my teeth as he opened his palm and aimed his hand in the direction of my swords. His hands glowed a bright white. A ball of white fire suddenly struck the blades of the swords. The metal turned into a silver goo and poured onto the ground. He didn't even bother looking at me as he walked away. I scramble towards my melting swords.

"Remember, six months!" I hear Coach shout in the distance. I glare in the direction I hear Coach from.

"Asshole," I say as the heat from the metal goo felt like it was going to burn off my skin. I quickly grab the hilts and quickly put it in my Inventory. I sadly looked at the goo before standing up.

A stinging sensation formed in my chest and pulsed throughout my body. I kick a nearby rock at a tree as I walk back towards Qaid and Jax. I take a deep breath as I attempt to calm myself down. I took quick shaky breaths as I walked through the forest.

Hopefully, I can finish it in time. I look at my hands and see the mold gone from my hands. The two boxes I had open close and one box pops up.

10:34 pm

I shove the shovel under the trunk of the cutdown tree and press on the handle with all my weight. My face was drenched with sweat. My arms gave out as my stamina bar turns to gray. My body fell to the ground. Jax was standing over me as I pant for air.

"Hey, Imma go now."

"Why!" I desperately said.

"It's getting late." He said while pointing to the sky.

"Just a little bit more!" He shook his head.

"I'm tired. I'll come back first thing in the morning though." I roll my eyes as I slowly stand up. I take a deep breath and focus on my breathing. I heard his footsteps fade as the second's pass. My stamina bar slowly filled up with each minute. I open my eyes only to see a box.

Thanks to repeated use of a skill it leveled up!

Lvl8 Breathing Technique->Lvl9 Breathing Technique

I roll my eyes as I grab the shovel down and store my magic into my arms. I groan as I hung onto the handle of the shovel and press it into my chest. The roots let out a crack as it was pulled out from the ground. I drop the shovel and walk to the trunk. I grab the trunk and notice the writing on the tree.

Go to sleep- Nuxiel

I read the writing with a confused expression. How was he even able to write it here. I use the wind to throw it into the woods. I walk into the woods and find a far enough place so that no one can find me. I take out a piece of paper with the Hieroglyph symbols. I step onto the middle and snap my fingers. I found myself at the entrance of my mansion. I start making my way towards my room. I pass by the kitchen. Goldie was cutting an apple while humming. I take out the handles of my swords. I sigh as I walk towards one of the cabinets and open up one you have to pull, in the cabinets was a trashcan. I look at the trashcans then at the handles. tears formed in my eyes as I know that I couldn't ever use them again. I threw them into the trashcan. I slam the cabinet shut with a loud bang. Goldie looked in my direction with a concerned face.

"What's wrong?" She said in a motherly tone.

"Nothing," I say attempting to hold in my anger.

"It doesn't sound like nothing." I take a deep breath as I yell my response at her.

"I said nothing!" I shout as I walk to my room. I hear Goldie's footsteps right behind me.

"If you need someone to talk to." I let out a loud sigh as I started to get annoyed.

"I'm fine!" I felt Goldie swiftly following behind me as I approached my door. As I begin to stretch out my hand to turn the doorknob, Goldie touched my shoulder. I quickly grab her hand and look up at her as I turn around. She looked at me with a curious look. I grit my teeth as I slap a nearby wall out of frustration.

"What!" She took a step back and put her hands up.

"Nothing." I glare at her before turning around and going into my room. Before Goldie could do anything else I slam the door and lock the door. I crack my neck before I take off my shirt.

Hopefully, a shower will help.

10:38 pm

(Goldie's POV)

As Ivan locked the door I looked at the hand mark he made when he slapped the wall. Five thin holes were could be seen on the tips of the fingers. A few inches above the fingers were three long scratches. I notice a chain-like pattern that looked like it was wrapped around the wrist. The chains handed off the wrist. I look down and see that the pattern stopped where the floor and wall met.

Weird. I touch the mark and channel my hand through my hand. The marks quickly disappeared like they weren't even there. I turn around in the direction and see barks of wood littering the floor. I stare at the floor already knowing it would be a pain to clean it up. I step over to the trash and walk towards the kitchen. I look around for the broom and remember seeing Ivan throw something away. I walk towards the cabinet. I open it and take out two handles. I stare at them sadly.

So that's why he's mad. I toss them on the table and close the cabinet.

Who broke them?

A/n: I just wanted to explain the lore and abilities of the 'monster' that Coach can turn into.

[Form I] Way of the Gods (Echo)

Lore-Coach awakened to his power by his strong love of music while he was singing and playing the guitar near a campfire. While not his strongest ability, it is his favorite power to the point begging the gods to let him keep the power as he grew mentally and spiritually. He usually uses to make new songs or listen to music.

Abilities- He uses the long needle connected to the middle knuckle to write the wavelengths of sounds onto a surface. He can't make whatever sound he wants. He first has to remember the frequency of the sound and understand how to write it down. He can however make new sounds just by randomly drawing wavelengths.
