(Ivan's POV)

My body felt heavy as I collapse onto my bed. I felt eyes close before the mattress felt like it vanished. A shock went down my spine as my body suddenly shook. I sit back up and groan. I get back up and take out a pair of pajamas. I weakly grip my shirt, my arm felt heavy just attempting to lift my shirt. I let my arm drop to my side and bend down to take off my shoes. My head waved from side to side before I could even reach my shoes. I lay back down on my mattress and try to manipulate the wind to take off my clothes.

What felt like the weight of a building fell on top of me as I felt the wind slowly move beside me. I quickly stop moving the wind and groan. My door opened, Goldie quickly walked in. Goldie stared down at me while she stood in the middle of the doorway.

"Are you okay," she asked with concern. I groan in response. "Are you sick?" I weakly shake my head.

"Just tired." She walked over to the bed and stood over me. Her eyes glowed a dim red before they went back to her normal bright brown eyes.

"You overworked yourself using magic right?" I nod.

"How did you know?"

"You look like you went days without sleep, plus I felt you control the wind but slowly." She sat down on the mattress beside me. "Is this the first time you overworked yourself with magic?"

"When I first used magic, I ran out of it quickly, but now when I run out of magic I get tired.|

"When you ran out, were you ever fighting, or were you really nervous?"

"I was fighting when I ran out of magic in the beginning."

"I'm guessing you ran out of magic then regenerate your magic only to repeat the cycle?" I nod while she stayed silent for a moment. "Are you going to overwork yourself again?"

"Why would I? I have never felt more tired or sick than this."

"If you want to get better at magic, you have to practice." I reluctantly sit up and look over at her.

"If I wanted to practice I wouldn't overwork myself like that."

"You won't get better if you're comfortable during practice. It's like working out your body, when you exercise enough, you might feel very tired when you're done; but, you'll be stronger after you rest."

"But when I do practice, even though I don't practice much, my magic gets better anyway."

"You're new to magic, of course, you would still improve without much practice, in the future when you're better with magic, being comfortable won't help."

"Either way, I don't need to practice magic, what I'm doing doesn't even need magic."

"What are you doing then?"

"I'm just making the Shinto camp better." Goldie smiled before responding."

"Can you be more specific?"

"I'm just fixing up the camp, improving things that need improving." Goldie nodded.

"That's nice." Goldie nodded. "You're introducing modern technology to the camp right?" I nod slowly. "Don't you need a different kind of metals then? I can teach you how to easily get metal from the ground." I stare at her for a second. Does she still want me to overwork myself? The way she suddenly brought it up feels like bait to force me to train.

"You're going to force me to train if I say yes aren't you?" Goldie shook her head.

"I would never refuse to help someone if it meant that they would do good for someone else." She's definitely lying. Just before she was so insistent on my training.

"You-" I stop myself. Actually, I don't think that would be too weird for her. She has been more friendly than Dominique and Jana. I don't blame them for not talking to me since I've killed them. Goldie doesn't seem to care that I killed her, maybe she has some kind of reason to be so kind? Should I just play along for now? I use Inspect on her to get some information on her.

The person is too high level for you to use Inspect!

I gulp as I read the box. I quickly calm down when I remember that she can't do anything too harmful to me.

"Can you teach me then?"

"Of course I can," she said with pride in her voice. "Can you control anything like dirt?"

"I have geokinesis, does that count?" She had a confused expression on her face.

"What's geokinesis."

"It means the power to control Earth."

"Does that include metal?"

"I don't know, I don't use it much."

"How many other powers do you have that you don't use?|

"I can control the shadows, but I don't use it either."

"Why don't you use them then? You have the option to use them, why not take advantage of them?" I shrug.

"I can use them, but I'm horrible at using them. I just figured that I should just stick to what feels natural."

"Of course you're going to be terrible with them when you start, were you good at anything when you first started?" I shook my head.

"I only do something when I'm forced to, I don't practice outside of that."

"You have all the time in the world, there's nothing that's pressuring you to practice. Shouldn't you prepare just in case something happens?"

"I don't know why I haven't been practicing. Maybe I've been lazy. I think I've just been enjoying what I can do now that I have my own money and house." I stay silent and think back to the times before I was ten. The vivid, clear memories of sleeping on a rug during the harsh cold winter weather and clutching my stomach hoping I would get food the next day flooded my thoughts. I felt my stomach start to ache at the thought. Goldie had a concerned look on her face.

"What do you mean by that." I open my mouth to speak but I couldn't muster a single breath. I tingly feeling went down my spine as I felt Gamer's Mind activate. I close my mouth and look down. I hesitate as I felt a drop of sweat fall down my cheek. I dig my nail on my index finger into my thumb.

"I-" I stop myself and look straight into Goldie's eyes. I don't have to tell her right? I bite the side of my cheek and stare up at her. I shake my head and lay back down on my bed. "Never mind Goldie." Goldie frowned and sighed. She lifted up her hand and moved her hands towards the left side of my shoulder. I shift my boy to the side to avoid her hand and stare at her as she tried to grab my shoulder.

I sit back up with annoyance in my eyes. She retracted her hand with a frown. She slowly got up, her tails waved in the background as she walked towards the door. She opened the door and turned to face me.

"It's fine if you don't want to talk." She said with a caring tone in her voice. A ball of tightness formed in my chest as her eyebrow squelched up together with the corners of her mouth falling to the ground. I play with my fingers while looking down at them. One of Goldie's tails wrapped around her body, she reached into her tail. I stop playing with my fingers as a familiar, brown hilt appeared out of her tail. Goldie stared directly into my eyes while she slowly took out a blue sword with yellow highlights on the edge of the sword. My eyes widen as I recognized that it was my favorite weapon, Retribution. How did she fix it? Coach broke it in half, and I threw the hilt into the trash. Her eyes had a warm look as she proudly showed me the sword.

"How did you fix it?"

"I can control metal, I just had to find out what metal the sword was made out of, then I paid someone to paint it."

"You wasted your own money so that you could fix the sword?" Goldie nodded. I stare down at my sword. I felt my mouth form a wide smile. I quickly stop smiling when I thought about her motivations. "So what did you fix the sword for?"

"I was going to give it to you as a gift but now I know it would better to use this to make you train." I roll my eyes and take out my skull ring. Goldie dropped her smile and looked blankly at the ring. I put on the ring and put up my hand to show off my ring.

"Just give me the sword." Goldie kept staring blankly, her blank stare turned into a look of disappointment. I glance at the ring, why isn't it working? "Give me the sword," I said in a stern tone. I angrily stare at the ring then glare at Goldie.

"The ring's effects won't affect me no more." My angry glare formed into a look of shock. I focus one point of magic into the ring and try to absorb Goldie's body into the ring. Goldie sighed with her face showing signs of pity. Her tails slowly waved behind her. "I know the ring is supposed to control people you killed. I, however, am not dead no more." My eyes widen, a sheet of fear washed over me. Her disappointed stare now felt like she was looking down on me. I noticed that her normally bright brown eyes were more dull than usual. My right foot trembled as I take a deep breath through my nose. I force my face to return back to normal.

"How did you even come back to life, I killed you, and now all of a sudden you're alive?" She didn't respond. "How long have you been alive."

"On my first day, I came back from the dead."

"Why didn't you just leave then?" I always knew that she was acting too nice. First, she made food for me, then she was softly talking to me. There's no way someone could be that nice without a reason.

"I won't leave a child behind, it was now how I raised nor is it right to do." My index finger shook as I felt my body become lighter. I slowly stood up and stood straight up. My index finger and right foot still shook. I stare at her trying to figure out what she actually wanted. From the Goldie I know, she wouldn't leave a child behind. But I thought I could control her with my ring, now she could do anything with me noticing. I don't know much about Kitsune but I know that they one of the more powerful Yokai. When I first met her she couldn't control herself, even then she almost burned me alive. Now that she can actually control herself, I don't know what she could do. I don't even know all of her powers. I know she can control fire but that's it. She could probably do much more than fire. I stare at the sword in her hand. She noticed and stretched out the sword towards me.

"You can have the sword," she said calmly. My hand twitched at the thought of the sword resting in my hand. I felt the familiar weight in my hand just by looking at the sword. "But you have to let me train you." I gulp as I give my answer.

"Why do you want to train me?"

"I have seen many talented people waste their talents because they didn't want to do anything other than laze around. You're a demigod, a Yokai, or any other monsters that could kill you at any time. I rather not let anyone else I know pass because they were lazy." I stare down at my sword. If I do let her train me, I could have a chance to fight back if she ever decides to do something. But she could train me wrong on purpose to make me a worker.

"Fine, but you're sure I can have my weapon back." She smiled as she stepped forward and handed me the sword. I smiled as the sword's weight felt familiar in my hands. She reached into her tail and pulled out the other part of the sword. I felt my lips touch the corners of my eyes. She stretched out the sword towards me, and I happily took it out of her hands. My arms quickly felt heavy from just holding the swords. I look down and feel light, warm feeling take over my body. I quickly connect the ends of the hilts to form the spear form and put it in my Inventory. I look up at Goldie.

"Th-thanks." Goldie warmly looked at me as I took off my skull ring and put it in my Inventory. I look up at her with a nervous grin.

"So what do you want me to do?"

"Two days from now, I want you to go the whole day without touching the ground or sitting down. Also, don't use any drinks or stuff that can regenerate your magic, only use your abilities to use your recover your magic."

"So you want me to fly?" She nodded. "But I have school, wouldn't it be better if I did it some other day. I don't want people to see me." She shook her head.

"Use your magic to find a solution then." I grit my teeth.

"That's it then?" She nodded. I nod back in response and lay back down on my bed. I stare up at the ceiling until a boxing camp up.

7:30 am

I hover out of my room, Goldie was already in the kitchen. I hover over to the island and hover by the island. I took deep breaths then slowly breathed out. My mp bar was thankfully slowly going down. I have no doubt that my Mp bar would not last the whole day though. I quickly tapped my finger against the island as Goldie slowly flipped over some pancakes. I look over at Goldie.

"Can I just go without eating?" Goldie looked over her shoulder.

"It's almost done though." I shake my head.

"I just want to get this day done with."

"Go then, but this will be your breakfast tomorrow". I nod and go over to the stairs of my house.

How will I even last throughout the day in school? If it was a weekend it would be easier, but I can't really use my powers freely in the normal world. I bite my lip and fly up the stairs and up to the surface. I frown as I look down at the snow. Does the snow count as the ground? I fly over the snow and make my way towards my school.

As I made my way towards the more populated into the more parts of the city I duck into a nearby alley. People walked past without paying me much attention. I take a deep breath as I close my eyes and imagine my feet walking against the ground. I notice my Mp bar go down just a bit faster when I open my eyes. I look down and see my feet planted on the ground, I didn't feel my feet on the ground. I fly a bit forward, my feet moved like they normally would. I grinned as I made my way through the streets without any worry.

I walked into my school and anxiously look over at my Mp bar. It was steadily going down. I take a deep breath and quickly fly over to class. I take my seat at my desk and pull back my chair. I stare at it before bending down and slightly hovered above the seat. I drop my Illusion, my Mp bar went down a bit slower. I take out my backpack and place it underneath my feet. I tap my foot against the ground while waiting for class to start.

Hopefully class starts soon.

9:45 am

I quickly fly to the halls not even bothering to put up my illusion. I felt myself running out of Mp. I stop by the bathroom and swing the door open. I quickly rush into a stall and take a deep breath. I close my eyes and start to slowly regenerate my magic. I grab the top of the stall and drop myself just a bit, my Mp bar slowly went up with each passing second. I gasp for air as I open my eyes. I take a glance up at my Mp bar. It was now a quarter away from being full. I groan as I open back up the stall and fly out. Footsteps walked past me the second I stepped out.

I tense up as a black kid my age walk past me and casually walks over to the sink. I stare at him before deciding to fly past him. Before I could get to the door, I heard his voice call out to me.

"What time is it." I look over my shoulder and stare at him with a confused look.

"Huh?

"What time is it?" I look at my watch with wide eyes.

"Nine forty-eight." The kid nodded before reaching for the soap. I fly to the door and look over my shoulder before flying out of the bathroom. I fly through the hallway without realizing that I didn't put up my illusion. Did the kid not care that I was flying? Maybe he didn't see me flying. I freeze as I realize that I was flying around without putting up my Illusion. I look around and notice that some people were ignoring me.

I slowly fly through the hallway and noticed that no one cared. I quicken my pace before I overheard a conversation involving me.

"That kid is flying!" I look around and see a kid with a red hoodie pointing at me. Next to him was a kid with blond hair and dull black eyes. I stare at them with wide eyes as the blond-haired kid squinted his eyes at me.

"No, he isn't." The blond hair kid said. He stared at me as the other kid leaned in towards him.

"Yes, he is!" The blond hair kid rolled his eyes. His eyes quickly widen as he glanced in my direction again.

"Holy shit he is!"

I instinctively create an illusion and fly away. I quickly fly past as I heard the last bits about their conversation.

"He went down!"

"I think we're just seeing things."

"I swear he was just flying!"

"He's not no more."

"You saw him fly too!" Their voices faded as I flew away and went into my next class.

Drips of sweat fell down my face as I let down the illusion and wait for the class to start. I close my eyes and quickly regen some of my magic again. I open my eyes and rest my elbows on my table.

How come some people didn't see me fly but those two people did? I know that red hooded kid saw me first, the blond-haired kid didn't notice me until the red hooded kid pointed it out though. Even then, the blond-haired kid acted like nothing happened. The red hooded kid still acted like he saw me. I sigh as I think about those kids. I still don't know how they were able to see me.

I take out my backpack as my teacher came into the classroom. I weakly smile as everyone loudly got into their seats.

I really wish Goldie gave me something else to do.

12:50 pm

I rush into the bathroom stall and slam the door shut. Sweat poured down my face as I gasped for air. My body got heavier and heavier as my Mp bar reached red. I felt something come up my stomach. I look down the toilet as drops of tears formed in my tears. My body shivered with a cold, tired feeling. I felt bags under my eyes form. I took rapid, shallow breaths as I closed my eyes and tried to regen my magic before it could run out. My Mp bar only regened one point of Mp after what felt like hours of suffering.

I groaned as my body got cold. I close my eyes and concentrate harder on regenerating my magic. The blue in my Mp bar only went up by what looked like a pixel. I felt something hot with an acid taste rise up my throat. My stomach swirled around in pain as I tried to ignore the feeling. I squeeze my eyes hard, I felt a cold feeling go down my spine. My body suddenly felt a comforting feeling softly hug my body as my Mp bar suddenly went up. I open my eyes and take a deep breath. The pain in my stomach faded away and the tired feeling in my body was instead replaced with an energized feeling. Breathing somehow got a lot easier. My Mp bar started to reach its halfway mark before it slowed down to a stop. The blue in my Mp bar didn't budge. I close my eyes and slowly start to regenerate my Mp bar. I quickly open my eyes as a loud ring rang outside the bathroom. I look toward the direction of the bell and glance up at my Mp bar.

Should I just skip? I bite my lip and think about it for a bit. I still have to last throughout the day but I also wouldn't have to waste my magic on Illusions every time I go to class or walk around the halls. I make a slight frown as I think about the consequences of failing the quest.

If I do fail the quest, I'll have less health, Mp, and Stamina. It would be easier to just skip school not have risk failing the quest. I sigh as I walk out of the stall and make my way towards the school exit.

Something important better not happens for the rest of my classes.

1:30 pm

I fly into the woods and look for Qaid and Jax. I go to where we work on the lake. As I wandered around, I noticed a white, thick wall where the lake should be. I quickly fly through the trees and widen my eyes. Everywhere were kids with tools and wheelbarrows. I fly up and see teenagers climbing out of a hole coming out the side of the hole of the future lake. Some teenagers came out of the hole with shovels and pickaxes, others went into the hole with long iron pipes on their shoulders.

On the other side of the lake was a circular concrete ring. I spot Qaid with a piece of paper in his hands. I fly over to him and hover by his side. I tap his shoulder and point to the circular concrete ring.

"We're starting to build the filtration processes right?" Qaid nodded with a strange look in his eyes.

"Aren't you supposed to be in school?"

"I'm skipping." Qaid glared at me and angrily sighed. Why is he mad? I came here to help, if I were him I would be happy to have someone else to help.

"I'm going to go help the children with whatever they're doing."

"They are just moving the dirt far away so that dirt doesn't get into the water when we eventually put in water."

"Where are they moving the dirt?"

"Down the hill." I nod and turn around.

"I'm going to go help them now."

"Quick question before you go." I look over my shoulder.

"What?"

"Why are you flying?"

"Just because." Qaid shrugged.

"Sounds fun."

11:58 pm

I punch my wall in frustration and wind up my fist for another punch. Goldie walked into my room and looked in my direction with a look of confusion.

"What are you doing?"

"Distracting myself."

"Get a punching bag then." Sweat dripped down my face as I punched the wall. I scratched at my skin as a burning feeling washed over my body. My fingers twitched. My toes curled involuntarily as I clawed at my skin. I snap my neck to the side, a loud crack came out. I take a deep breath as I punched the wall again.

"How much do I have to do this for?" A patch of skin tore off my hand as my hand struck the wall. I groan as I plant both my hands on the wall and drawback my hand. Pressure built up in my head as my Mp bar reached red.

"Two more seconds," Goldie responded. I slam my head into the wall with a smile. The pressure in my head disappeared. I smile as I let my foot teach the ground. My legs felt weak under my weight. I sigh in relief as the burning sensation in my body faded. I look down at my arm and notice marks of red run down my arm. I hesitantly glance away as a box appeared.

I close the box, another box quickly appeared after it.

I yawn as I close the box. Another box quickly appeared.

I look over at Magic Buildup and open up my skill menu. I scroll down to Magic Buildup. I grin as I look at the skill

After you end this skill, it will regenerate 5 points of Mp per second for 3 seconds. Refills 50 points of Mp per second. 35 points of Stamina per second.

I look over to Goldie with tired eyes.

"Can you leave, I'm going to sleep." Goldie nodded as she smiled.

"I'll give you a week to rest." She said before leaving the room. I yawn again as I slowly walk over to my bed and put my hands on my mattress.

I never knew my bed was this soft.
