Truculent

Reborn of the third princess

In my previous life, I would be engaged to Ye Wangxi after a week from my birthday. Since I didn't make the wish to marry, would I still have to marry him?


After a week, there was no news of making Qingyun get married. Qingyun was relieved until the Empress Dowager called for her. 


Qingyun slumped in her seat. "Oh, come on! I thought I wouldn't have to." 


Qingyun went to Empress Dowager's hall, and she saw Ye Wangxi. Qingyun bowed to Empress Dowager and stood up. 


"Empress Dowager. What did you call me here for?" asked Qingyun. "I called you here, to see your opinion on an arrangement, that I am going to make, " replied Empress Dowager. "What kind of arrangement?" asked Qingyun. "Empress Dowager wants both of us to marry each other, " said Ye Wangxi. "A wedding arrangement? You want both of us to get married?" asked Qingyun. 


Nooo! Why? I didn't ask to marry like last time. Why do I still have to marry him! Yes, I like him, but I don't want to marry. Please no! 


"Yes, I want you guys to marry, " said Empress Dowager. Qingyun looked at Ye Wangxi and saw his eyes sparkling with hope. 


I'm sorry, brother Ye. I hate to disappoint you, but I have to reject it. In my past life, I rejected you, but I still had to marry you. So it's not like I have a choice. The outcome would be the same, but I still have to act like I don't like you. It would be much better for both of us. 


"But I don't want to marry, " said Qingyun. Ye Wangxi clenched his teeth and his fists. 


Why don't you agree to marry me? Is it because of Bai Jingxuan? 


"Oh? Then do you like somebody?" asked the Empress Dowager. "No, but I don't want to marry at a young age, " Qingyun replied. "Being at age 15 is old. I had to marry at age 13, " said Empress Dowager. "I still don't want to marry him." 


Empress Dowager made Ye Wangxi leave and started lecturing Qingyun.


"Qingyun, you have to marry Ye Wangxi, " said Empress Dowager. "Why do I have to? Even if he likes me, it doesn't mean that I have to marry him, " said Qingyun. 


"I am old. When I die, you won't have enough power to save you from danger. Ye Wangxi is powerful enough to help you, " said Empress Dowager. "He won't be able to help me. I know that he has a lot of power. But how would that help me? There are still people more powerful than him, such as my second sister."  "He would be able to help you. He can protect you. Your second sister likes Ye Wangxi. She won't hurt him or you." 


Empress Dowager knew that my second sister likes Ye Wangxi. I was the only one that didn't know. How silly I must have been in front of them back then.


"What if my second sister tries to kill me out of jealousy?" asked Qingyun. "She won't. She is your sister. You should have some faith in her. And even if she does, Ye Wangxi would block it for you, " said the Empress Dowager. "How would you know?! What if he doesn't? A person can never be too careless," yelled Qingyun. "I raised you for so long, and you still don't have manners. You are so disappointing! You have to remember that I am the Empress Dowager. You can't yell at me!" Qingyun scoffed.


You're still the Empress Dowager from my previous life. You are always proud of yourself and love to be respected and admired. I'm sorry that I disappointed you, but I need to tell you what I wanted to in years. 


"Grandma. I have been with you since the age of 2, and you still don't know what I truly want. I don't want to marry and be powerful. I don't want to fight my siblings to be the Empress. I want my mother's love. I want your love! But I have never felt it. I'm sorry that I am a very disappointing person."


Qingyun walked away with tears in her eyes.
