It was morning and Qingyun woke up. Qingyun was on the bed.
Why am I on the bed?
Qingyun's stomach started growling. "I'm hungry."
Qingyun switched her clothes and went to the kitchen.
Qingyun searched for food and found some steamed buns with some rice noodles.
Qingyun began eating until she got disrupted by a maid. It was Zhen'er.
"Third princess?" asked Zhen'er. "Yes?" asked Qingyun. "Why are you here?" "I'm hungry, so I'm here to eat food," replied Qingyun. "But why are you eating here and not in the dining hall?" asked Zhen'er. "Good question. I don't know. I probably wanted to get food fast, since I'm not a very patient person when it comes to food."
Qingyun finished eating and left the kitchen. She was going to her room when somebody called her. "Third princess." It was Wangxi. "Hello, Wangxi. Why did you call me?" asked Qingyun. "The second princess is here, and she is looking for you," said Wangxi. "Why are you telling me this? Where are the maids?" "The second princess is yelling at them." Qingyun clenched her fists and walked to the main hall.
"Hello, second sister. What are you doing here?" asked Qingyun. "I'm here to teach you a lesson! I thought you disliked Wangxi, but instead, you slept with him. You lied to me! I hate you! I'm going to kill you!" yelled Xuanyin. Xuanyin grabbed her sword and swang it towards Qingyun.
Qingyun was about to dodge the attack when a woman yelled, "How dare you try to kill your sister!" It was the Empress Dowager. Xuanyin dropped the sword in fright and bowed with the others.
The Empress Dowager picked up the sword and sat on a chair. She slammed the table and yelled, "Why would you try to kill your sister?!" "I-I never intended to kill her. I-I just wanted to scare her," stuttered Xuanyin. "Oh? It didn't look like it. If I wasn't here, you probably already killed your sister!" yelled the Empress Dowager. "I would never. I wouldn't want to die," said the second sister. "Well, if you don't want to die, then you need to control your emotions and actions. If I see you trying to attack your third sister again, I am going to strip your status." "Yes, Empress Dowager." "Good. You're going to get grounded for another three months. You can leave," said the Empress Dowager. The second princess left the mansion.
In my previous life, Xuanyin didn't get grounded, but this time she got grounded. That means that she won't be able to cause that much trouble during the next three months.
The Empress Dowager made Wangxi leave. "Qingyun," said the Empress Dowager. "Yes?" asked Qingyun. "Are you okay?" "Yes, I'm fine." "Why did you lie to me?" asked the Empress Dowager. "I lied to you?" "Yes." "When?" "You said that you didn't like him, but you slept with him," said the Empress Dowager. "I never said that I didn't like him. I only said that I didn't want to marry him because I'm still young. But you said that my second sister would never try to harm me, but today she did," said Qingyun. "I know. That's why I stopped her. Next time, be careful," said the Empress Dowager. "I will."
Qingyun went back to her room and saw Wangxi. "What are you doing in my room?" asked Qingyun. Wangxi turned around and said, "I was looking around. Your place looks nice." "Thanks." "Um, I'm sorry." "For what?" asked Qingyun. "I'm sorry that because of me, your sister came here to harm you," said Wangxi. "It's alright. She didn't even hurt me."
Xi'er came in and saw us. "I pay respects to the third princess and the third prince," said Xi'er. "Hello, Xi'er. What's wrong?" asked Qingyun. "It's time for lunch, so you have to go to the dining hall." "Okay," said Qingyun.
Qingyun, Wangxi, and Xi'er went to the dining hall to eat lunch. The table was already on the table, so Qingyun and Wangxi began eating.
"Where's Empress Dowager?" asked Qingyun. "Replying to the third princess, the Empress Dowager is busy," said a maid. "Oh."
Like my previous life, Empress Dowager was busy, so she didn't eat with us. When she was finally done and eating, she got poisoned. The maids pushed the blame on me because I went to the kitchen in the morning. Since I learned about medicine in my last time, I would do my best to heal her, and not let Lingxi get what she wants!
"Bad news, miss!" yelled Xi'er. "What's wrong?" asked Qingyun. "Empress Dowager got poisoned!" said Xi'er. "What?! Bring me to her right away!"
Xi'er brought Qingyun to Empress Dowager's room and saw the Empress Dowager unconscious on the bed.
"Empress Dowager," said Qingyun. Qingyun went near the Empress Dowager and held onto her hand. She clenched her teeth and asked the doctors, "What's wrong with Empress Dowager?" "I think that the Empress Dowager is in a coma because of heat exhaustion, but we don't know if she would have any other symptoms," said Doctor Lei. "How can a fever put Empress Dowager in a coma for so long? There's a possibility that the Empress Dowager got poisoned," said Doctor Wei.
"How did the Empress Dowager get poisoned? The mansion is well-guarded, strangers can't get in and try to poison Empress Dowager. Somebody from this mansion poisoned the Empress Dowager. The guards and Wangxi would search and interrogate anybody in this mansion that has poison. The doctors and I would find a way to cure the Empress Dowager. Now go." "Yes, third princess," said the guards.
The guards left, and the doctors started discussing.
"Could it be Cyanide poisoning?" asked Doctor Wei. "No, it can't be. Right now, the Empress Dowager is in a coma. Empress Dowager would only be in a coma because she was in contact with Cyanide for a long time, but she didn't experience any symptoms of it," said Doctor Lei. "That's true, but then, what could it be?" asked Qingyun.
"Third princess, you got to take a look at this," said Doctor Guo.
Qingyun and Doctor Lei took a look at what Doctor Guo was implying and knew why Empress Dowager was in a coma.
The Empress Dowager's hand was red and dry, and she has a fever.
"Oh, wow," said Qingyun and Doctor Lei. "What?" asked Doctor Guo. "Empress Dowager didn't get poisoned," said Qingyun. "Empress Dowager just has a fever," said Doctor Lei. "Then, why is Empress Dowager's hand red and dry?" asked Doctor Wei. "I said that the Empress Dowager must have had a fever because of heat exhaustion. So, of course, her hand might be red and dry," said Doctor Lei. Doctor Wei frowned at Doctor Lei.
Wow. Doctor Wei hates Doctor Lei. They must have been in a lot of arguments.
Doctor Lei put a cloth in cold water and put it on the Empress Dowager's head.
"Third princess," said a guard. "Oh. You guys are back. What's wrong," asked Qingyun. "We found somebody that says that she knows who is the one that poisoned the Empress Dowager," said the guard.
It must be Zhen'er from the kitchen. It's showtime.
"Bring her in," said Qingyun. "Yes, third princess," said the guard.
Zhen'er came in and looked very scared. "What's wrong? Why are you scared?" asked Qingyun. "There are so many people here. I'm nervous and scared that somebody would try to kill me when I tell people the truth," stuttered Zhen'er. "Don't worry. We would protect you. You said you know who poisoned Empress Dowager. Who is it?" asked Qingyun. "It-It was you who poisoned the Empress Dowager," said Zhen'er.
Haha, got you!
"Me? Why would I try to kill Empress Dowager?" asked Qingyun. "You wanted to poison Empress Dowager because Empress Dowager forced you to marry master Ye. You got into an argument with the Empress Dowager, so you tried to poison her," said Zhen'er.
Doctor Lei was about to say something, but Qingyun gave him a look, which made him stop.
"That's just your guess. What real evidence do you have?" asked Qingyun. "I saw you put poison on the food in the kitchen," said Zhen'er. "When was that?" asked Qingyun. "It was almost afternoon," said Zhen'er. "If you saw me poison the food, why didn't I kill you?" asked Qingyun. "So you can make the same excuse right now, and let other people think that you're not a suspect," said Zhen'er.
She didn't even pause to think. She's so good at lying.
"What food did I poison?" asked Qingyun. "You just said you put poison on the food," said Zhen'er. "Answer me. What dish did I poison?" asked Qingyun. "You poisoned the soup," said Zhen'er. "Then why are I and Wangxi here perfectly fine," asked Qingyun. "Empress Dowager usually only drinks soup for lunch, while you hate drinking soup. It also might have been coincidental that Wangxi didn't drink the soup," said Zhen'er.
The guards were almost convinced until Qingyun said something.
"You're lying." "Why do you say so?" asked Zhen'er. "Empress Dowager isn't in a coma because of poison. She is in a coma because of heat exhaustion," said Qingyun. "Heat exhaustion? Heat exhaustion would make you faint, but the Empress Dowager should have been awake by now," said Zhen'er with a scoff. "Heat exhaustion can also make you get the fever. If a person gets a fever, they might be in a coma," said Qingyun. Zhen'er clenched her fists.
"You tried slaughtering a princess. Do you know the consequences?" asked Qingyun. Zhen'er lost her balance and fell in fright. "Bring her out, and you know the rest," said Qingyun. "Yes, third princess," said the guards.
"Nooo!" screamed Zhen'er.
That's what you get for slandering people.
