Chapter 3

After eating, Seiran sat on the couch while Adi left to buy food for lunch. There's a window beside the couch so Seiran couldn't help but be amazed by the surrounding. She kept glancing everywhere outside the window.

"Stop looking outside like that. People might think we have a crazy woman here." Reymund said. Seiran quickly obligued and sat straight in the couch.

"Sorry." She said in a small voice. Reymund noticed that she's scared of him so he tried to reach out to her.

"Are you alright?" Seiran flinched when he touched her shoulder and put her arms in front of her face.

"I won't do it again. I'm sorry." She said frantically. Reymund recalled what her mother said lately.

"Be gentle to her. She experienced something terrible to her yesterday so she might get scared if you do anything rashly."

Reymund quickly sat beside Seiran and hugged her. He can feel the girl skaing jn his arms so he tightened his hug. After a while, she stopped shaking. He pulled her out abd asked if she's alright.

"Yes, I'm fine." She said in a small voice. Reymund could see she's still scared so he pulled her up.

"Let's go outside?" He asked then Seiran nodded quickly.

He pulled her to their backyard. Seiran felt ticklish as the small grass touched her ankles. Reymund pulled her until they arrived at their backyard. They stopped under the tree where there's a small pond in front of it.

Seiran's eyes caught something that loved at the water so she came closer. She saw someone looking back at her as she stared at the water.

The girl has a big and bright red eyes that showed innocence. Her silver hair that reach down her wait shines under the sunlight. Her fairly white skin turns soft red due to the sunlight.

Seiran moved but the girl kept on imitating her.

"You look like someone who has seen their own reflection for the first time." Ruymund laughed a little but stopped when she saw the surprised look of Seiran.

"That's me?" She asked.

"Yeah." He answered slowly. She turned her head back to the water and tried to touch it but it resulted in making ripples of water.

Reymund couldn't help but think of her. She doesn't know what milk looks like. It's her first time she has been outside and see her reflection. Because of this, Reymund concluded in his thought that the girl in front of him has been secluded in her own room for a long time.

"Kids, lunch time!" Adi called from the house. The two walked back to the house and helped prepare the table before eating lunch.

"So are you ready?" Adi asked. Seiran answered by nodding. Both of them have serious expression on their faces that Reymund couldn't help but wonder why're they being so serious.

Adi sat beside Seiran in the living room while Reymund quietly stood in the corner.

"First, close your eyes." Adi ordered Seiran, the latter quietly obligued.

"Can you feel something like an air flowing smoothly around your body?" Adi asked.

Seiran focused her mind in her body. She could feel her pulse and heartbeat. A bit more concentration and she felt something cold is definitely moving around her body as her heart beats.

"It's very faint but, yes, I can feel it's a bit cold." Seiran answered.

"Good. That's actually mana flowing in your body." Adi said. She took Seiran's hand and curled up her three fingers and straighten up her point finger and middle finger.

"Take a grasp of your mana and control it all the way to your fingers that are pointing."

Seiran tried to control it but it just keeps on flowing everywhere. Adi can see she's struggling so she added a few more advise.

"Clear your thoughts, Seiran. Feel the mana then let them flow slowly into your fingers."

Seiran took a deep breath and released it slowly then felt her mana once more. This time she's following where the mana is going. From her heart, to her head, to her arms, body and down to her feet. When she felt it in her head, she made her mana flow down to her fingers. Her fingertips quickly felt cold so she opened her eyes to see if she did it.

"Did you do it?" Adi asked, surprised by her eyes suddenly opening.

"I think I did. It felt cold." Seiran said as she pointed her fingertips.

"Then, do it again and say the word 'heal'."

Seiran did it and this time she controlled her mana faster than lately.

"Heal." She muttered. A faint light emerged from her fingertips. She opened her eyes and saw a light blue magic circle with a single star in the middle.

The two woman's mouth are agape while Reymund started laughing because of their expression. His sudden noise distracted Seiran so the circle quickly fade out.

"Aren't you two overreacting too much?" Reymund asked, still laughing.

"I have a very small amount of mana capacity so this is actually a very big thing for me." Seiran said, still looking excited at her fingertips that did magic.

"That means you're a healer huh." Adi said proudly.

"Healers like us who can quickly patch up small cuts and bruises may be many out there but healers who can fix broken bones instantly are certainly rare." Adi explained.

"But I don't have a large amount of mana to do that. Besides, from what I did just now I felt tired already." Seiran said.

"Don't worry Seiran. Maybe if you practice more you can become one of the greatest mage in this empire." Adi squealed at the thought. Seiran laughed at her excitement while Reymund stayed silent at the corner.

"The amount of mana a person has is already decided when they were born into this world and that cannot be changed." Reymund thought.
