Chapter 9

The four of them ate their lunch together at the capital after the game.

"Such a waste that we've placed 4th." Finn said and drank his orange juice.

"We actually had a one point difference from the third place." Seiran said.

"Let's make some kind of strategy next time so we could avoid being separated everytime we kill the rabbit." Luke suggested.

"Yeah, finding each other, even though I have a compass, wasted too much of our time." Dina said.

They recalled the fun they had in the game as they ate their lunch and not just minding the loss of their team.

"It's impossible!" Finn shouted in archery class the next day. The targets are now moving in different directions. Everyone had a hard time in hitting the target even once, except Seiran. She was the only one that could hit the targets. Each of them was given 5 arrows and must hit the target even once.

Time passed and almost everyone got a hit. Their teacher for that subject called the students who didn't manage to hit even once.

"You again? If you want to continue this class then make some effort to improve your skills!" He shouted at Finn who looked like he could cry anytime.

After the scoldings, he dismissed the class. Finn saw how concerned Seiran look, he couldn't help but sigh.

"You're really good at this huh? You manage to hit them without wasting a single arrow." He looked at the targets that Seiran easily hit with envy then look at her.

"Can you help me practice?" He asked. Seiran nodded without hesitation. They started immediately since their next subject is vacant. Seiran gave him some advice and helpful tips.

Time passed and Finn finally hit the target in it's torso for the first time.

"I did it!!" He shouted. Seiran laughed as his body's shaking from too much excitement.

"Aww kids are having fun." A familiar voice said behind them. They saw students that looked older than them. Seiran saw Ronald walking towards them.

"I'll get our things." Finn said.

"Reymund's not with you?" Seiran asked as she looked behind him.

"Nope, he's a swordman, different class." Ronald said.

"Yo, Ronald introduce us!!" His classmates shouted.

"No way! Rey would kill me!" He said to the group of men trying to get close to Seiran. He hid the gurl behind him then helped them get out of the archery ground.

"Thank you." Seiran said.

"Sure thing." Ronald said then pat her head and went back to his class.

The two walked towards their next class. Finn still grinning because of his accomplishment. Lunch came, they headed towards the cafeteria and sat in their usual seat.

"Ugh, this what a jerk!" Dina said then put down her tray of food aggressively beside Seiran.

"Who?" Seiran asked. Dina hugged her and sobbed.

"We had a surprise test in our potion subejct. My partner didn't follow my instructions and insisted that I'm wrong. He mixed the potion 5 times and it exploded! We were the only ones who failed, it was so embarrassing." She said. Seiran saw a black dirt in her face so she cleaned it up.

"You should have taken charge if mixing the potions then." Luke said.

"He doesn't even know what ingredients to use so I told him the mixing parts while I add the materials in the pot." Dina stabbed her steak with her fork repeatedly.

A pair of couple walked pass their table. Dina looked at the boy and glared. The boy stuck his tongue out at her, making Dina more furious. They knew he's Dina's partner because of the dirt on his uniform cause by the explosion. The girl beside him doesn't even notice that her boyfriend wasn't listening to her.

"That's how my sister and her husband met." Luke suddenly said. If looks could kill, Luke would be laying down in his own pool of blood because of Dina.

"Is swordmanship class hard?" Finn asked.

"I have someone I know in your class and he always seemed unable to move from training too hard in your class and here you are looking perfectly fine." Finn said.

"I've been training with my sword since I was young. The class' warm-ups seem to tire them out before the real training even started. Like swinging the sword 100 times or running around the school ground for 25 laps." He said like it was something he's been doing those all through his life.

"And that doesn't tire you?" Seiran looked at him with amazement in her eyes. Luke simply nodded.

"What a hardcore training you guys have. I'm so glad the swordmanship class is full when I applied." Finn said.

Dina was still stabbing the steak until the three finished their lunch meals. Her appetite is completely lost the moment she saw her partner in the cafeteria.

They returned to their class then days passed by.

"Start!" The teacher said. The hunting game began. Same target, same rules. This time Seiran and the others formed a good plan to get rid of the rabbits easily. They carried it out when they saw one. Dina finally have her main element, nature type. She made a green magic circle and trapped the rabbit with a vine. She could only shoot one vine so they have to act fast when the rabbit splits.

Luke hit the rabbit first but it got out of the vine when it split into two. Seiran and Dina hit them before they ran to different directions. It duplicated but all four of them quickly killed the rabbit.

"I didn't expect that." Dina said, talking about the fact that the rabbit can free themselves out of the vine when they were hit and split into two.

"Let's continue that way then." Seiran said.

"It hurts!!" Someone shrieked. Seiran saw a girl sitting on the ground while crying. She's holding her knee that's bleeding.

Seiran walked towards her and sat beside her. The woman's teammate was shocked at her sudden appearance. Seiran healed her knee and the bleeding stopped quickly.

"Be careful next time." Seiran said as she helped the woman stand up. The woman blushed and said her thanks.

Morning passed and they had their lunch in the usual pub.

"I finally have my own money!" Finnsaid and held the small pouch that contains the prize money. They placed 2nd this time and each of them was given a pouch with lots of silver money inside.

"After eating I'd want to buy my own weapon." Luke said. The school let the students without their own weapon borrow theirs. If the student have one of their own, they can use it in the hunting game or in any kind of school event.

"I'll be going back to the school to train more." Finn said.

"Then I'll be going back to the dorm to rest." Seiran said and Dina tagged along with her.
