Chapter 12

Seiran improved her healing magic. Now she can heal small broken bones. She could also let 3 vines out of her nature element magic and some more other tricks.

"You're able to improve this much just because 1 piece of the seal in your heart was broken huh?" Reymund said while looking up at Seiran who's lifting herself up using her 3 long vines. They are in the backyard, Seiran's trying if her magic could support her weight. She came down to the ground when she was satisfied with the outcome then lifted Reymund up too.

"You too, it's really fun!!" Seiran shouted. Reymund screamed as the vine goes higher and higher.

"SEIRAN NO!!!" He shouted. Adi saw them and started laughing.

"Don't put him down!!" She shouted. Reymund screamed non-stop but after a while his voice faded. Seiran let him down and retrieved her vines then she saw him looking like he's about to vomit.

He glared at her then rubbed his knuckles on her head.

"Kids I made snacks!" Adi said from the house.

The next day they ride a carriage again and returned back to school.

"Hi Seiran!" Some students greeted her. She put a smile on her face as she greets them back.

"What did you do back in your home?" Another random student asked.

"Train my magic and stuff." She answered.

"What a popular kid I have beside me." Reymund said and sighed. Seiran laughed at his expression they they parted ways.

"Remember what I told you!" He said before running off. Reymund told her before going out of the house that no one should know about her other magic. It would spread quickly and it wouldn't be an exaggeration if it spread outside the Garn Kingdom.

"My life became very quiet without you guys." Dina said. They met at the school grounds after they drop their things in their own room.

"You should've use a mirror and talk to yourself. You're the talkative out of all of us you know." Finn said. Dina glared at him and pulled his hair.

"Hey! Ouch! Sorry!"

The hunting game became harder that the last time. Some required to be captured and avoid killing them as much as possible. Their team encountered others who are injured so Seiran would always stop by and help them.

"Sorry, I couldn't stop myself from helping others." Seiran told her friends.

"Well healing magic is there so you could help someone." Finn said.

"Yeah, and helping others should always be the top priority of a healer." Dina said, Luke nodded in agreement. Seiran felt thankful to have such nice friends so she treat them for lunch.

"I won't hold myself back!!" Dina said and ordered a lot of food. The boys couldn't believe that a single girl could eat twice than them.

"Why aren't you getting fat when you eat that much?" Finn asked.

"Fast metabolism, duh." She said.

"After this let's apply for the competition." Luke said.

"What competition?" Seiran asked.

"Every year the school holds a competition. Three winners from the warriors and three winners from the mage would be selected to fight with the other kingdom's school." Finn explained.

They made their way towards the faculty room where they would apply for the competition. The event would take place a week later so all students trained everytime they had the time to.

"Goodluck to us!!" Dina and Finn shouted. People are allowed to come inside the school to watch the special event. Currently the four and the other participants are at the school's stadium at the back part, waiting for the host to call their names.

"Seiran!" She looked at Reymund running towards her. His face is slightly pale.

"Mom got into an accident."

They both pulled out from the competition and rented a horse in the stable near the entrance of the capital. Seiran ride with Reymund since she doesn't have any experience in horse riding.

"A letter was sent to me from the old woman who witnessed mom's accident." He said.

"Is she alright? Nothing serious happened, right?" Seiran asked hopefully.

"I don't know." He answered frustratedly. Rain started to fall but it didn't make them stop their tracks.

Reymund helped Seiran get down from the horse then they both ran inside the house.

"Mom!!" Reymund shouted as he opened the door to her room at the same time the thunder boomed. They saw her laying down on her bed. Her leg has thick bandage wrapped around it.

"Mom." Adi woke up.

"What happened?" Seiran asked. Their looks are full of concern.

"Aren't you at school?" Adi asked, "I'm fine. A wolf from the forest suddenly bit me while I was passing by the forest to get some mushrooms. Someone saw me and helped me." Though Adi said she's fine, her face is really pale. She tried to hide her pain by seeming like she doesn't feel anything but her sweat and pale color completely gave it away. Seiran was about to heal her but Reymund couldn't resist his mother's suffering so he took his sword to his room and walked outside the house and ran to the forest.

"That brat, Seiran please drag him back in here." Adi said. Seiran quickly nodded. "I'll heal you after I get back." She quickly said then took the bow and arrow in her room and followed Reymund.

The rain made it hard for Seiran to see in front of her so she ran faster to not lose her sight of Reymund. They entered the forest then Seiran lost him. She tried to look for him but the rain made it hard for her to hear his footsteps. Finally she heard a cry of a wolf so she immediately followed it. She found Reymund sitting on the ground. The wolf is dead beside him and his leg is bitten.

Seiran wasted no time and she quickly do her work. Reymund touched something behind him. He grabbed it and found a scarf tied in a rope. The scarf has a small logo attached in the middle.

"Oh no. Seiran let's get out of here." Reymund quickly said and stood up, breaking Seiran's focus in healing his wound.

"I'm not done fixing your leg." She protested.

"Do it later." He grabbed her hand then ran fast. He couldn't feel anything but he's definitely scared. Something roared in the distance and that made Reymund more nervous. The rain wasn't showing any sign when it would stop.

"What's happening?" Seiran asked after the roar ended.

"The scarf is owned by Jade School from Hale kingdom. They put rope around the area where evil beasts are located. It's their task to get rid of it." He explained as fast as he could.

Reymund suddenly stopped so Seiran had to peek what made him do so. In front of them there is a huge silhouette. It was three times bigger than a human and it has a large horn in it's head. The thunder boomed and the light flashed quickly at the monster. It was only a flash of light but the they saw perfectly what it looked like. It's big body looked very much like a man's while legs and head looks like a bull with a very large horn. Seiran felt too scared to move when she saw it's red dangerous eyes that gleamed in the flash of the thunder. Reymund felt scared too but for different reason. The color of the minotaur is gray, not the usual red one. That means it's much more stronger than the common minotaur.

"RUN!!" He shouted.
