Future

Nine years later...

"Mother! I'm home!" a little boy came opening the door.

Molly ran to hug the little boy. "Why did you come home so late? Where did you and your father go?" she folded her arms.

"I brought him out after school. He just finished his finals." Jacob wrapped his arms around her waist. "I miss you."

"No!" the little boy tried letting his father loosen his grip. "Mother is mine!"

Molly bursted into laughter. "Liam, I both love you guys equally."

"Am I not cuter than dad?"

"Of course you are, but your dad is my husband."

"Mom!" Liam hugged her tight. "I'm hungry."

"Tell me how you did in your exams first." Molly put her hands on her waist. "Was it difficult?"

Liam nodded. "I'm sorry, mom... I don't know if I'm gonna pass...but I tried my best!"

Jacob bent down and smiled. "We're proud of you no matter what alright? Keep that in mind."

Molly sat on the couch. "We'll support you in every—"

"Even when it comes to love?"

"What?" Jacob and Molly looked at each other. "Do you like someone, Liam?"

Liam looked away. "I guess." he's cheeks reddened. "She's just pretty."

"Who is it?"

"Secret!"

"Why won't you tell us?"

"It's someone you know."

"Is it Evelyn?"

"What?" Liam's eyes widened. "Of course not!"

"You don't need to keep it hidden from us. We can give you some tips." Jacob smirked. "Are you friends with her?"

Liam nodded. "I-I just get nervous when I'm around her."

"Well you're too young for this, son. When you grow up, it won't be her that you'll like."

"Why do you say so? My feelings for her won't change!"

"Well you have a kiddy taste so—"

"Aren't you good friends with her parents? Then I have a bigger chance now!"

Molly smiled. "Focus on your studies first, little boy! You're just seven."

"Am I not allowed to like someone?"

"Of course you can, but you're still too young. You shouldn't be thinking about that alright?"

"Yes mother," Liam sighed.

"You still have a lot of years to come. Don't focus on those kinds of things."

"Alright..."

"Liam, can you go to your room first? I need to have a word with your mother," Jacob interrupted.

"Yes father!" Liam smiled before closing the door.

Molly stood up and handed Jacob a glass of water. "So what did you want to talk about?"

"Nothing." Jacob hugged her tight. "I just want us to have some time alone. Ever since Liam came into our lives, you've had less time for me."

"What do you think will happen when he figures out why—"

"Shh!" Jacob placed his finger on her lips before gently kissing it. "He might hear us."

"You!" Molly looked away. "We're too old for these kinds of stuff!"

"We're just in our early thirties. How is that old?"

"I just—"

"Are you thinking about Liam again?"

"I'm just surprised that he likes Evelyn."

"Why? Just because she's Adeline and Nicholas' daughter?"

"Among all the girls in his class why did it have to be her?"

"Isn't that great?"

Molly glared at him before shaking her head. "Of course it's not!"

"Why not?"

"I'm afraid that Liam might get hurt like how Adeline got hurt from Nicholas before."

"Really?" Jacob giggled. "That's all in the past and what makes you say that Evelyn will be like that? You don't even know if she feels the same way."

"She probably doesn't."

"Want me to go ask Nic?"

"You!" Molly let out a fist. "You dare?"

"I'm just kidding!" Jacob grabbed her shoulders. "Why take it seriously?"

"I'll go prepare dinner—"

"You're not going anywhere." Jacob grabbed her wrist. "Can't you just give yourself to me tonight?"

"What?" Molly's eyes widened. "Do you even know what you're saying?"

"Oops. I guess you interpreted it in the wrong way!" Jacob laughed.

"You! I didn't think of that! I swear!"

"But if you're willing to then I don't mind."

Molly rolled her eyes. "Say what you want."

"I love you."

"Yeah."

"Aren't you gonna say that you love me too?"

"You've said it already."

Jacob sighed, "Forget it."

Molly wrapped her arms around his neck. "You really want me to say it?" Molly brought her face closer. "I love you then, Jacob."

"You..."

"Happy?"

Jacob nodded. "Of course I am."
