Take me home

Amanda had yet another dream. She saw herself walking down the aisle together with her late. She was looking very beautiful and radiant in the wedding. Her face was all dolled up with makeup and she looked genuinely happy. Her face beamed with smiles as she saw Andy standing at the altar, together with the priest waiting for them.

Just as they wanted to exchange their wedding rings, a gun shot was rang out and Andy fell on her. She creamed and looked at the source of the gunshot. She saw a very beautiful guy standing at the far end of the church with a gun in his hand. He smiled sinistely at her and then disappeared.

Amanda woke up with a scream again, alerting doctors. This time around she didn't see just the doctors, she also saw a very good looking guy sitting on the edge of her bed.

He looked divine but at that very moment he was watching her like a strange creature. He seemed to be very surprised. She didn't know why but this man looked like her guardian angel. She quickly grabbed him by the arm. He was startled when she did so. He hadn't expected a reaction from her.

She clutched his arm and gently placed her head on it.

"Please take me home I don't want to stay here anymore." She said softly.

George was surprised by how angelic her voice sounded. Although it was slightly coarse it was still rather melodious. He looked carefully at her face and she had this innocent look that any guy would want in his woman.

" Why do you want to leave?" he asked, wanting to know why she wanted to disappear from the hospital by any means.

She firmly grabbed his arm and buried her face in his arms.

Sob... Sob... Sob... Sob..

"Those men in white are bullying me. They always force me to sleep, but I don't like sleeping. I always have nightmares" ... Sob... Sob.. Sob.

She must be talking about the doctors.

They were in the middle of the drama when the door opened. An elderly doctor came in, he seemed to be the chief. He looked at George in a way that signaled him to come out. Having understood what the doctor meant he spoke softly to the lady in front of him, who had tightened her grip on his arm. Probably because she saw one of those people that normally put her to sleep.

"Let me speak to this man and after that I'll take you away from here okay?" He said to her. That really worked on reassuring her because she left him and cuddled her own self on a corner of the bed.

George walked away with the doctor and when they were sure they had gone far from the room. The doctor explained her case to him. The trauma of having lost someone that was so dear to her hadn't made her mad, rather, it had turned her into a child. She sought the protection of anyone whom she felt safe with. The doctor explained to him that, it was the first time she had woken up without crying and screaming. He deduced that it's was because George was there. Which means that she feels safe with him.

"She'll continue to have nightmares and difficulties in sleeping, that's why I'm going to recommend some pills that she would be taking for the while.

She would be having a monthly check up here at the hospital. So please, don't do anything to aggravate her. She needs constant pampering, care, love and attention.

"When would she get better? Or would she ever get better?" He asked. He didn't know that he would ever get to a point when he would have to babysit someone in his life.

"I can not say for now. Let's hope that a miracle happens." The doctor said.

Going back to the hospital room he saw Amanda still sitted in that same position. When she noticed that someone entered the room she squeezed her face thinking it was one of those men in white. But, when she saw George her face beamed with smile she tried to rush and probably hug him but a drip was still connected to her arm. Seeing that she was about to injure herself George rushed forward instead.

"Let's go home." He said.

She nodded with a smile. She seemed to be in agreement with whatever George said. She didn't know where he was taking her but she trusted him.

George drove carefully while constantly looking at the mirror. He noticed that she was watching everything he did with excitement.

"What is your name?"

"Ámá...nda"

She said the name but she murmured the last part to herself.

"Ámá! What a nice name!"

Amanda squeezed her face she told him that her name was Amanda and he only called her Ámá.

Remembering what the doctor told him about pampering her. He sought for a pet name for her.

"Why don't I call you Amy?"

Amanda who had squeezed her face in annoyance before, nodded vigorously. She didn't like Ámá but she definitely loved Amy.

He drove past a grocery store and bought her candies. She had stated that she wanted them anyway. She had wanted to go into the store with George but he refused. Since she had no clothe, she was still in her hospital gown. Her old clothes were destroyed in the accident. It would attract unnecessary attention if she entered the store.

George also had to tread carefully, he didn't want to be recognized by people, of course he was very popular.

-

When they arrived home it was already late. George's mother and sister were already waiting for him. They stood up when he entered. The smile on their froze when they saw him carrying another figure on his arms.

Amanda was sleeping peacefully in his arms. Since she was still weak she had fallen asleep in the car.

"Bro.."

"Shhh"

George shushed her. Rose had wanted to complain to her brother immediately about her monthly allowance he had forgotten to give her. He could not even let her speak and shut her up.

This had never happened to her. Was it because of the wrench he was holding? No! She couldn't accept that.

"Don't be unreasonable Rosie, she's sleeping we should allow her rest."
