Chapter 11: Rules Only For Rita

"Love!!! is it love or only attraction" he thought? He wanted to confirm it first before telling her.

After having tea, Rita went back home with all the thoughts of uncle Thomas. She will confirm first with her sister and only then will she be able to confront her friend.

When Rita reached home, she saw her grandmother sitting on the sofa. While at Miya's house she forgot the time while chatting and was late than usual.

The grandmother wanted Rita to be at home before sunset but today when she left Miya's house the sun had already set. This rule is only for Rita but not for Reema.

Rita shuddered and slowly moved toward her grandmother, who was looking at her with anger. Sensing that her grandmother is angry she couldn't muster up her courage and stood shivering in front of her.

Reema who just entered the house saw his scene and felt sorry for her younger sister. She just moved and sat beside her grandmother without taking her eyes from Rita.

Grandmother said " Reema, is she late like this every day? I told you to keep an eye on her but you didn't. Why?... "

grandmother's eyes were fixed on Rita all the time while talking to Reema. Reema felt guilty, it was her duty to look after her sister in the absence of her grandmother.

Reema said "Grandma she is always on time at home and just now was down with me.

Grandmother glared at Reema to which she just lowered her head getting scared of her( grandmother) eyes.

Grandmother knew that Reema was lying, she just glared to and fro at the sisters. Got up and went to her room. After some time she came back with the wooden ruler and started beating Rita on her hands.

Rita was in pain but endured it and let her grandma vent her anger. Its always like this whenever her grandma was at home.

There were certain rules for Rita as she was younger and also naughty from her childhood.

Reema also forwarded her hand on top of Rita so that she can also get punishment.

" Every time it's always like this, just why can't you obey the rules." grandma busted out on Rita, put the ruler harshly on the table nearby and stomped back to her room.

Reema turned and hugged Rita who was sobbing and tried to console her.

"Sis why there are rules set only for me? why grandma doesn't like me?" Royal asked while sobbing

Reema who knew the reason just patted her back for some time and pushed her back a little so that she can face her crying sister and slowly opened her mouth keeping her forefinger below the chin, raising her head slightly

"You know very well that grandma loves you more than me, and rules, they are there because you are still young to face the danger outside. Understood...!

Rita removed her sister's hand from her chin, nodded slowly and went to her room directly without taking her eyes from the room of her grandmother which is opposite to her room.

Reema sighed and went to her grandmother and just stood without a word in front of the armchair on which the old lady was sitting with her eyes closed.

After some time the old lady opened her wrinkled eyes and sighed loudly. She looked at her granddaughter in front and said

" You know very well, why am against letting her go after the sunset."

Seems nodded and the old lady continued with an angry face

"Then why did you let her go? Is this how you look after your sister? Am trying hard to keep her safe but you both are neglecting the rules. Why.... why is it so difficult to follow the rules?"

The old lady stood up and went near the photo hanging on the wall. It was a small photo frame of her son, daughter-in-law and herself. She slowly caressed her son and said softly

" I have already lost my son at least let me keep my promise to him. Go out and do your work"

Reema just moved out of the room without a word, closed the door behind her and moved to the kitchen to prepare for dinner.

Inside the room the old lady sat back on her armchair with the photo frame and thought

'I think I should be more strict with this disobedient daughter of yours' she looked at the photo for some time and kept it on the nearby table.

Rita after closing the door of her room threw herself on the bed and started sobbing under the pillow. Later she got up, wiped her tears and washed her face before going out to help her sister in the kitchen.

Today both the sisters were silent as their grandmother was present otherwise both would have chatted while preparing dinner.

Their grandmother didn't like the hustle-bustle in the house so they both were cooking silently.

After dinner, the old lady went out for a walk in search of a person whose yang is strong to protect her younger granddaughter.

Every second from the death of her only son she's searching for sources to protect her granddaughter and recently she came across a solution from one of her old acquaintances that the person whose yin and yang are strong should get married to Rita.

This old acquaintance also told her that she had learnt from her master that the person with strong yang can fight against evil to keep one safe only if he is in love and is willing to fight for her.

Now she is more determined to find the person with strong yang. All these days away from the house this old lady had learnt many tricks to find a person with strong yang.

She has a beaded necklace which is cast with the spell to find the strong yang if the person is nearby.

The old lady slowly moved from her neighbourhood to the nearby alley holding the beaded necklace on her wrist.
