Chapter 336: Forgotten Already

Mina arranged and rearranged the items in the basket she purchased for Dom. She had purchased more than she intended, but he had been injured trying to save her and Mina felt he deserved it. She finally got the items to look the way she wanted and realized that President Lee was staring at her with an annoyed expression.

The man had told her the night before that he had an important meeting to attend, and Mina was sure her sleeping in and her shopping spree had caused him to miss it. She was surprised that he had not already strangled her, and Mina assumed his restraint was due to his growing need to figure out who was targeting him.

Having her own device was extremely useful to Mina, who was able to find out through a simple online search that the Lee group was on the decline. The value of the company was still intact, but its prestige had been damaged somehow.

Mina was not surprised; President Lee was a terrible person to put in charge of a company. He was arrogant and short tempered; his employees were afraid of him and he micromanaged things at the clerical level. Even if the man somehow managed to break out of the micromanaging habit, he would still have to contend with his lack of interpersonal skills. Something Mina did not believe he could do.

"Are you done?" President Lee asked and Mina hurried to his side. He could not help but to smirk a little at her getup. She looked insane in her outfit, but in an odd way it was exactly as her hoodie read; cute.

----

Mina knocked on the door of Dom's room and waited for him to respond but she got no answer. She kept knocking until the man cursed her out, and she took that as her cue to enter. Dom stared at her for a long time, and Mina thought it was because he did not recognize her.

"Have you forgotten me already?" Mina asked, and Dom literally hopped out of the bed and limped toward her. With her hands carrying the heavy basket, Mina was unable to stop him from pulling the glasses off her face. Dom was staring at her as if he were seeing a ghost and Mina felt uncomfortable with his reaction.

"What is wrong?" She asked, and at the same time president Lee walked in.

"Permission to kill them all sir," Dom said through gritted teeth, and President Lee's response shocked Mina.

"All clear," President Lee responded. Mina did not know if the man meant her abductors were already dead, or if he meant that Dom could kill them, but she was surprised, nonetheless.

It took Mina a minute to realize that Dom was balancing on one leg, but once she did. She put her basket on the ground and helped the man back into his bed. He just kept staring at her, and Mina did not want to admit it, but she recognized that look. It was the face she made when she had seen brother B for the first time. She removed her hat and ruffled her own hair.

"I am fine," Mina said in a faint voice and Dom grabbed her shoulders roughly.

"Why did you run back?" He half shouted, scaring Mina that he would aggravate an injury.

"You know why. I couldn't just leave her," Mina replied.

"Do you think she would have gone back for you?" Dom asked, not caring if President Lee was listening. He was telling the truth.

"Do you think I would be able to be talking to you right now if something happened to Miss Lisa?" Mina asked, and Ian flinched at her words. She really had no clue of her worth. Mina did not wait for Dom to respond, instead, she went to fetch the basket she had put down. "Look what I got for you," she said excitedly.

Dom still wanted to yell at Mina. He was angry with her and he wanted to vent, but at the same time, he was so happy to see her that none of it mattered. He just stared at her as she pointed to and named all the items he could clearly see. Dom could tell Mina was proud of her thoughtfulness, but one of the items she named snapped him back into reality.

"Did you buy this stuff yourself?" he asked, and Mina nodded. Dom looked to his boss, but the man held no expression; he simply shook his head.

"Do you love it?" Mina asked, unmistakably oblivious to what she had bought.

"Mina, what kind of magazine is this?" Dom asked while handing the black plastic wrapped booklet to the woman. She took it and shrugged.

"Isn't it a fitness magazine?" Dom chuckled and President Lee who was leaning by the doorway sighed.

"Open it for me?" Dom requested, and Mina obliged. One of his arms was in a cast and she knew it would be difficult for him.

Mina tore through the plastic as both men stared at her eagerly. For president Lee, he wanted to see if Mina would get angry with Dom, in the way she got angry with him, and for Dom, he just wanted to see Mina turn red. He missed teasing her, and now that he knew she was alive and well, he needed to wipe that haunted look out of his memory with something much less heart wrenching.

When Mina slid the magazine out of its covering she instinctively flipped through the pages and literally threw the book across the room. Her face was so red, and her eyes were so wide that even president Lee had to laugh.

"You let me buy that?" She asked, and Ian was taken aback. He was being blamed for something he played a small role in. He only assisted her by flashing his identification card, but even more so the real Mina would have shouted at him, and right now she was too calm for it to be natural.

"I assumed you knew," Ian said with a shrug, and he walked away. He wanted to see what Mina's reaction would be, but as he guessed, there was none. He could hear her repeatedly hitting Dom, but she did not even spare him a second glance. He already knew it, but Zane was right, he needed to move on. Mina did not see him at all.

----

Dom just sat there, allowing Mina to punch him and he enjoyed every minute of it. Somehow her outburst let him know that whatever happened, was not as bad as he imagined, and as soon as his boss was gone, Dom grabbed Mina into the tightest hug he had ever given a person.

"I'm not on drugs, right?" he whispered, and Mina pulled away just enough to look straight into his eyes.

"You might be," she whispered back before punching him again. They both laughed as Mina peeled her body away from his.

Dom realized he had gone too far in pulling Mina so close, but he could not help himself. He had had this dream too many times, and each time the only person he woke up to was Rebecca. He needed to feel Mina to know she was real.

"What happened? and please don't lie to me," Dom begged.
