Chapter 461: Game On

Mina wanted to be annoyed with President Lee having stolen her first kiss, but she believed he had done it to be funny. She slapped at his exposed chest, not really putting any thought to where she was hitting him. When she felt the heat that was radiating off his body, she moved her hands around his chest, and knew that something was not right. He was far too warm, and having been drugged, anything could be possible.

Mina was trying to coax the man into a cold shower when she heard Luna shout, and she had never been so relieved to be caught in an awkward situation. Mina hopped off the countertop, trying to ask for help, but Mills had taken her words incorrectly. She rephrased, and finally Luna understood what she was saying. She asked someone to call a doctor, but Mina instead told Zane and Drax to get Ian into a cold shower.

"You are not a doctor," Luna shouted, and Mina agreed.

"Yes, but I know that if his body temperature keeps rising at a rate I could physically feel, he will seize before any doctor can get to him." Luna shut her mouth, once again realizing that she needed to put less scrutiny on Mina, who was not at all interested in Ian.

"Sorry, it's just-"

"I know what it looked like, but he took his shirt off because he spilled something on it, and I tried to convince him to put it back on. He is the one who sat me on the countertop, but you cannot blame him either. Everything is a big joke to him right now, and I would appreciate it if this does not get back to Miss Lisa."

----

Drax and Zane dragged Ian away from Mina and into a cold shower. Both men knew that Ian was probably still feeling good, but there was no way he was still completely under the influence of the drug he was given. They had not found the waiter who served the drinks to the table, but they did find the person who sold the drug to the waiter, and that man told them it was a 'happy pill'. It came on hard and strong and wore off after a few hours.

"Could none of you see that it was a terrible time to interrupt?" Ian asked through shivers, and Zane laughed at him.

"Relax, Mina was just checking your body temperature and you know it."

"Still felt good," Ian replied with a chuckle.

"You're high," Drax reminded him. "That girl was only trying to help you. If we had not come, she probably would have put you in this shower on her own." As soon as Drax finished his statement he apologized. "I can see why you are annoyed now." Zane noticed what the men were hinting at, and laughter filled the bathroom.

It took ten minutes for President Lee's body temperature to return to normal, and another ten minutes for Dr. Juan to arrive. He was relieved when he saw it was not Mina he was treating, but President Lee instead. After being told what happened, Dr. Juan explained to everyone that they should thank Mina for her quick thinking.

"Had you not listened to her; you could have slipped into a coma. It's not uncommon for people who have been drinking to die from that so-called 'happy pill'." With a final warning against partying too hard, Dr. Juan left, giving Mina a nod as he passed her at the front doors. He could see from her facial expression that she was pleading for him to take her, but he was helpless, and when he turned his face away, she looked down in understanding.

----

Mina was terrified; while Dr. Juan had been treating President Lee, men in dark suits had come to question her. She was grateful that Mills never left her side, because she was almost positive she was suspected of something. Without a family name to back her the way Miss Lisa had, she was on her own, and Mina knew it was bad.

As soon as the men let her go, Mina waited at the front door, hoping that Dr. Juan would show just an ounce of pity for her, but when he saw her, he looked away, and Mina knew it was because he could do nothing. She wanted to cry, she wanted to run, she wanted to go home, but she was trapped.

"This must be the worst birthday ever," Mills said, and Mina absentmindedly replied. "I knew it!" Mills shouted in glee. Mina rushed the woman and covered her mouth, trying to shush her. Mills was taller than Mina by at least two inches, she was also stronger, but she found Mina's actions cute, so she voluntarily hushed, and waited for an explanation.

"I need to keep it a secret," Mina whispered.

"Why? It's not a bad thing."

"It is easier to listen when people don't know I can hear." Mills liked Mina from the beginning, but she liked her even more now.

"Can you marry my brother?" she asked. Mina still had Mills pressed against the wall as they giggled, and she was suddenly pulled away by someone who was so strong she could feel the air passing her cheeks.

"Drax what the hell?" Mills shouted; she was completely caught off guard. Drax had spun Mina around in several circles before he released the dizzy woman, who looked confused by his action.

"Are you trying to steal my girlfriend?" It was the second time he had accused her of trying to steal Mills, and although Mina found Drax's reaction comical, she needed to make a point.

Mills kneeled to check on Mina, who was chuckling in what she could only assume was disbelief. She looked over her shoulder and glared at Drax, who said he did not realize how fast he was spinning. When the woman opened her eyes again, they were filled with tears, and Drax broke.

"It was just a joke. I was only playing. Please do not cry," he begged, but it was too late, Mina was wailing like a baby.

Mills turned around and punched Drax, pushing him away before she helped Mina stand. She started to walk the woman toward her room, and when Mills was not looking, Mina turned around and shot Drax a teasing glare. The man's mouth dropped open when he realized that the woman had played him.

Mina was tired of people thinking they could just put their hands on her without consequences, and she decided to put her foot down with Drax. She was not angry with the man, because she knew he was joking, but she wanted to let him know that she too could play games. It was going to be the same for everyone going forward; except Mills, she had no reason to be angry with the woman yet.

With the room door shut, Mina confessed to Mills, wanting to let her know that she was not in any way injured, but the woman was not concerned about that at all. She told Mina that Drax had crossed a line, whether he was playing or not, and Mina found herself grateful that the woman was not deranged like Miss Lisa or Miss Luna.

Mills wanted to use the alone time to get to know more about Mina, starting from who she was, to when she first learned to speak the Sani language. Although CEO Zane had explained to Mills the relationship between Lisa and President Lee, he did not go into detail about Mina, and he only said that the woman was an employee of the Lee group. Mills was also a Lee group employee, and she wondered if Mina was like her.

"Are you an assassin?" Mills asked with all seriousness, and Mina blanched. "Don't be offended, but I saw how you grabbed that knife earlier."
