Chapter 466: Get To You

Mina's laughter was so loud and intense that Mills and Drax could not help but to sneak back into the room. Ian glared at Drax, blaming the man for not stopping him when he wiggled his body in his direction, and accusing Mills of taking advantage of him for her personal enjoyment. Ian had never felt so humiliated in his life, but he also had never been happier. If coming out of his shell every now and then could help him get closer to Mina then he would do it, just not in the full view of others, and not by dancing.

"You dance well," Mills said, she was talking to her boss, but she was staring at Mina, who was beyond tickled by the memory. "I really don't know how Drax resisted you." Mina succumbed to another fit of laughter before she sighed in content.

"Hold on to what you are feeling now," Mina said while looking up at the ceiling. "Maybe it will help you avoid humiliating people in the future." Just like that, Mina extinguished the little spark of hope Ian had been holding, but he was unwilling to give up the moment.

"I didn't come here for this," he said while tossing Mina her phone. "I just wanted to let you know that I remember you molesting me." Mina shot to her feet.

"Wha- wha- what?" She stuttered. She had touched President Lee's chest, but it was not in an inappropriate manner, it was more like that of a doctor and patient. Ian did not give Mina an answer. He left her room, shooting a look at Drax who was standing in the door shaking his head. Ian was not at all surprised when Mina followed behind him, trying to explain herself.

"Are you really trying to tell me that you didn't take advantage? How did my shirt come off in the first place?" Mina turned stiff.

"I asked you to take it off because I thought you had on an undershirt."

"So, you asked him to take it off?" Mills interjected. "You told us that he took it off himself."

"He did," Mina shouted with a stomp that made Drax chuckle. Mina was completely embarrassed by the raised eyebrow stare the couple was giving her. She kept trying to explain, but her words kept being twisted, and she was beginning to doubt herself. "He is the one that kissed me. He is the pervert, not me." Mills smiled wickedly.

"I never heard anything about a kiss."

"Neither have I," President Lee added. Mina was so embarrassed that she ran back into her room and shut the door behind her. Ian was completely satisfied with the reaction. He was also completely over the moon that his memory of kissing Mina was not a hallucination. If she had not brought it up, he would not have known how to ask.

----

Ian climbed into his bed, picking up his own phone to go through the photos. He wanted to make sure there were none that were incriminating. He did not check before, because he rarely used the camera function on his device, nor did he remember taking any pictures, but he was wrong.

As Ian scrolled through the phone, he first came across pictures of himself and Mina. He sat up in his bed, his heart pounding as he took in their smiling faces. In a few of them, Mina was not even looking at the camera, but somehow, he had managed to make her smile, and his spark returned.

Ian chose his favorite among the many and used it as the wallpaper of his device. He knew it was beyond creepy, but he wanted to hold on to the memory. He had only just gotten comfortable in his bed when he heard someone enter his room. He was shocked to see it was Mills.

"Get out before I scream," he threatened. Drax was like a brother to him, and if Mills were in his room to try something, he would not just want to kill her without letting the man discover her actions for himself.

"I've seen you without a shirt, it's nice, but not better than Drax. Besides, he knows I'm here."

"Why are you here?" Ian asked in a tone less friendly than he had been using with the woman in recent times.

"This home has no security. If it is true that you want to keep Mina safe, then you need more than people. She can and will get away from them, because they don't know what she is capable of."

"She won't be here for long," Ian said, turning onto his side and laying down, hoping Mills would take the hint and leave.

"There is a saying in my country; it is something like saying that some birds are not meant for cages."

"Mina isn't a bird."

"No, but she wants to be free and you are suffocating her. She doesn't even know that you like her, because all she can see is the bad which you have done."

"And you are suddenly an expert in all things related to Mina?"

"No, but I will leave it up to you to ask her why she called." Mills stood up and left President Lee's room.

----

Mina's head was buried under her pillow in shame. She had brought up the kiss to clear her name, but somehow it ended up working against her. It was not fair, she had not kissed President Lee, he had kissed her, so why was she feeling so guilty? She knew the kiss meant nothing to the man, and it was just his way of teasing her when he was not in his right mind, but then why did she hide it from Miss Luna? If president Lee said something to his sister, it would make it look like she had done it on purpose, and now Mina found herself unable to close her eyes without thinking about it.

Mina could hear someone come into her room, and she knew it was the world's most annoying couple. She removed the pillow just long enough to ask them to get out, but Mills ignored her and pressed a kiss to Drax's lips before telling him that she was going to shower. Mina felt like her face was on fire because their kiss reminded her of the one President Lee had stolen. She mumbled something under her breath, before turning her back to Drax. Mina felt her bed dip, and she shot up in fear.

"What are you doing?" she shouted at the man who had laid down beside her.

"I would like to ask you the same thing." Drax had been laying on his back, but he turned to face Mina, who was still seated on the bed beside him. "I don't believe in coincidences, and what happened today cannot be ignored."

"I had nothing to-"

"You don't have to defend yourself. You may not have noticed, but you had eyes on you the entire night, and no one saw you talking to the waiter or the dealer, but I know that drink was ordered specifically for you."

"Maybe President Cameron-"

"Careful Mina," Drax interrupted again. "I know you don't like him, but accusations like that can have dire consequences."

"Then what are you asking me? Because I certainly would not have tried to drug myself." Drax made a noise of affirmation.

"You see that is the part I cannot figure out. No one had anything to gain by having you embarrass yourself, in fact, Mills would not have allowed you to even take two steps if she suspected you were under the influence."

"You think someone knew that President Lee would take the drink for me?"

"Either that, or someone desperately wanted to get to either of you."
