Chapter 475: Golden Wrapper

After alighting from the plane, Mina was hit with the most intense sunlight she had ever experienced. She tried to squint through it, but the sun was so strong that she felt the urge to turn around, bumping into President Lee in the process. He seemed to notice what was wrong with her, because after asking if she was okay, he handed her a pair of sunglasses and she put them on quickly.

Unfortunately, the lenses were not for people with light eyes like hers. They were made for people with dark irises, who still wanted to protect their sight from the harsh sun. Mina was still grateful for the little relief that they provided, and she darted inside of the car, wanting to get away from the midday sun.

Once inside, Mina heard President Lee telling the driver to take them to an eyewear store, and as requested the driver stopped at one before taking them to the hotel. Mina rushed inside first, trying to avoid the sunlight, but she was only inside for a few seconds, before she turned around and started to walk out, citing the prices as unrealistic.

"President Lee, unless the glasses in that place can perform critical thinking tasks for me, I refuse to buy them." Ian laughed, almost forgetting that Mina was frugal to a fault when it came to buying things for herself.

"I will buy them," he suggested.

"No," she replied flatly.

"Mina, unless you want to spend the next five days in a hotel room or with a headache, just let me buy them for you."

"I'll say at the hotel,'' she said nonchalantly.

"Fine then; I will keep you company." Mina looked at President Lee, trying to find the joke in his statement, and when she realized there was none, she tossed up her arms in frustration. Drax and Mills just silently watched the exchange, both fully aware that the pair had issues they needed to work on without outside interference; communication being the main issue.

Mina gave up on trying to talk President Lee out of buying the glasses for her, but it did not stop her from whining the entire time, making the salesclerk flustered. The woman looked to be in shock, and Mina was sure it was because she had only seen people throw tantrums because they wanted something with a high price tag, not because they wanted something less expensive.

"Please Mina just pick a pair." Ian said exasperatedly. "I don't have a problem with money."

"Yet you still owe me." Ian's mouth fell open, he had not forgotten about the money he promised, he just needed to be careful with how he pulled it out of his account. It was not just to keep it from his cousin, but from his father as well.

"Give her your darkest lenses," President Lee said, ignoring Mina completely, and Mina gasped at how ugly the frames were, then choked when she saw the price.

"Who would pay for these? This cannot be fashion. The designer is playing you."

"They are not ugly. Please just pick a pair of glasses." In that moment, Drax felt nothing but pity for his friend, who liked a mini tyrant.

"Mina, you are kind of being a little difficult," Drax said in his most patient tone, and Mina, only just remembering the couple with them, apologized before changing her tune.

"Fine, just give me the ugly ones," she said, and the clerk handed her the glasses, but Mina whimpered just looking at them. "Never mind, I change my mind, give me the ones before these. The gold framed ones." The clerk handed Mina the glasses and she put them on her face to check the mirror. They were not as bad as she thought.

"No," Mina heard. "Absolutely not, take them off. Give her the ugly ones."

"Ah ha!" Mina shouted. "You just said they weren't ugly. You want me to look silly, don't you? I am taking these and that is final." Ian glared at the woman, who was still examining herself in the mirror. She looked amazing, but he did not want her to look amazing, he just wanted her eyes to be protected.

"Ian, just get the damn glasses," Drax whined, he was rubbing his cheeks so hard that Mills was trying to stop him.

Ian went to stand beside Mina who was still looking at her reflection, likely trying to get used to what she saw. The salesclerk took to the register on the other side, and when the payment went through, she handed Mina a card with the details for the lifetime warranty that covered the purchase. Mina blanched when she saw what was printed on it, and she tossed the card like it was poisoned.

"Whose name is that?" she asked, incredulously. Curious Ian picked up the card and saw that it read Mina Lee.

"I am sorry Miss, I just assumed you were his wife. I will correct it at once." Mina nodded slowly, with her hand over her heart. Mills was giggling in the background, while Ian was staring at Mina completely offended by her reaction to having his last name. "What is the correct name?" the clerk asked, and Mina gave it to her. "I know I shouldn't say this but, you should be careful with how you treat him. There are many women who would love to snatch him from you." The clerk looked at Ian meaningfully, and Mina smiled.

"No, you should be careful," she said. "Some women are drawn to a golden wrapper; but just because the stuff inside is brown, does not make it chocolate." Drax literally gasped with Mina's words, and Mills looked like she was staring at a goddess. Only Ian's face had darkened.

"Mina, did you just call me a piece of sh!t?" he asked, and Mina snorted.

"Did you hear me say that?" She questioned while walking away.

"What else could the brown stuff be?" Ian followed Mina out of the store after glaring at the woman who had just walked him into that slaughter.

Mina was still giggling as President Lee kept questioning her. As she entered the car, she was completely ignoring the man, and in his frustration President Lee poked her side, causing Mina's body to spasm. She warned him to stop, but he did it again; this time drawing out a chuckle. Mina pointed her finger at the man, telling him that she would not hold back if he continued, but he did not listen, and Mina kicked her foot out at him. He caught her leg and Jammed it between his thighs, leaving her unable to move it.

"You'll stay like this until we get to the hotel," he said in a satisfied tone, and Mina struggled to break free, but it only landed her in a more awkward position.

"Mills"' she pleaded, but Drax literally put his legs over his girlfriend not allowing her to move. Mills' face looked torn, because she wanted to help, but Drax was telling her to let Mina figure a way out on her own.

Mina tried everything to break free of President Lee. She had even used her other leg to hit into his shin, but he just used his calf muscles to pin the leg down. Mina sat up and punched at the man, but he caught both her hands and had her stuck in a position where half her body was on the seat of the car, and the other was hanging off. She was twisted in a painful manner, and her previously dislocated shoulder was beginning to ache.

"Mina, you know how to get out of this," Drax said, and Mills looked down, feeling nothing but pain for her friend. Mina sucked in a deep breath and nodded her head. She turned to face President Lee and said the hardest words for her at that moment.

"I'm sorry." Ian released Mina at once, and her whole body flopped on the floor of the vehicle.
