Chapter 484: Nonrefundable

Drax was relieved to see his girlfriend safe and uninjured. She looked like she was having a good time, but he was still terrified at the thought of what could have happened, and he told himself that he would not allow the woman out of his sight for the rest of the trip. He loved Mills, he was sure of it, and not knowing if she was okay or not was too much for him to deal with, especially because the woman had no idea how strongly he felt toward her.

A man who introduced himself as Majha clasped Drax's wrist, telling him that he had just a few minutes left to show up. When Drax asked the man what he meant, Majha told him that Mills made a wager on their relationship. He told Drax that Mills promised to break up with her boyfriend and move to Bal if he did not arrive within the set amount of time.

Drax wanted to be angry, but he could not. Mills had faith in him, and she trusted him to find her, so she made the bet knowing that he would. Drax scooped his girlfriend up and kissed her so deeply that Majha sighed and walked away in depression. The sight made the couple chuckle, and a rugged looking woman winked at Mills in approval.

Drax looked for Ian, who was talking to the side of Mina's head, as the woman nodded in understanding. He looked to his girlfriend who filled him in on Mina's card counting ability. The game she was playing was called cheater. It was basically a contest played between card counters, to see who the best was at keeping track of the cards without being obvious, and Mina had not lost a single round.

Drax could now see why Cam was suspicious of the woman, because he was absolutely sure she was hiding much more than she let on and was likely waiting to be caught before she would confess to anything. He felt sorry for Ian, who regardless of if he wanted to see it or not, had no shot with Mina, who clearly did not trust him, and he suddenly understood how hurtful it must have been when he accused Mills of being involved with her.

Majha watched the men come to take away the amazing women that had stumbled into his bar. He really liked the Mills woman, because he could see her helping to run his organization with little need for protection. He was also sure that Lapeto liked the little spy girl, who was beautiful and quiet, but she seemed like the type that needed twenty-four-hour protection, and he could tell from the worry in the eyes of the man who had come to claim her that he was right.

Sunhari approached his boss, wanting to make sure they were letting the people leave the bar unharmed. With Mina being an actress, she could probably fetch a nice ransom price, and he was sure that the man who had come to get her was President Ian Lee of the Lee Group. Majha shook his head, not wanting to burn bridges with the women, because something told him that they would meet again.

----

Mina walked away from the table, and President Lee pulled her out of the bar. She almost wished she could stay with Lapeto and the others, because even though they were criminals, they were still respectful. In Mina's experience, only the rich and the depraved preyed on women, and so far, President Lee was presenting with both characteristics. He pushed her into the car where Mills and Drax were already waiting, and as he did, the wrap around her body loosened.

"Is that blood?" President Lee shouted, pulling the garment open further to inspect the area for injury but Mina slapped his hands away and Mills, who was sitting shotgun, told him that the blood belonged to someone else. She quickly recapped the ball incident, and Ian punched the window of the car so hard that Mina was afraid his fingers were broken, but kept the concern to herself.

"President Lee, I'm sorry if we caused trouble, but we had to defend ourselves." Ian's gaze softened as he realized that Mina had the wrong impression.

"I am not angry with you, I'm upset that I wasn't there to protect you." Mina felt her nerves become rattled and she expected some sort of retaliation later. She slipped into silence, and Ian knew that he had once again said something that did not sit well with her.

When they arrived at the resort, armed officers swarmed them, and the translator who had worked with the men earlier, quickly explained that Mina and Mills were being arrested for assault with intent to kill. Ian snarled his response to the woman, who repeated his words with the same intensity, and Ian felt like he needed to secure her for future business ventures in the country.

The Lee Group was not into tourism and did not heavily invest in Bal. At first going to a country where his name held little meaning made Ian feel burden free, but now, he wished he could just say who he was and have each officer fired on the spot. The group returned to their car and drove themselves to the police station.

The three 'victims' were plainly visible, and they quickly pointed the women out, but one of them recognized Ian, and he immediately retracted his story. His friends, were slow to catch on, but also backtracked, and Ian found himself happy that Drax had chosen a hotspot for Pan natives, otherwise he would have had to spend a lot of money to keep both women out of jail, because one of the men was still being watched at a local hospital.

Free of the drama that could have awaited them, Mills and Mina wanted to eat street food. Drax was unusually clingy with Mills. Having had to confront the possibility of losing the woman, then having almost had to let them spend the night in jail to avoid a diplomatic crisis; Ian was almost positive that Drax was afraid, and as Mina had pointed out, he showed it in his actions.

Mina was no longer depressed, and she smiled brightly while running from vendor to vendor as Ian paid for whatever she ate. Street food was extremely cheap in Bal, and he was certain Mina was allowing him to pay because she had the ability to pay him back for each purchase, but in reality, Mina was still upset about her ice cream cone and was taking revenge for her wasted three dollars.

Mills spotted a booth that looked interesting to her, and she dragged Drax to it, while Ian waited for Mina to catch up. Despite not saying much, there were little things she did that made him feel like he still had a chance with her. Like when Mina noticed that he was struggling to keep track of vendors he needed to pay, she slowed down, allowing him to stay close to her.

Mina stepped inside the booth at first curious, but then her expression turned uneasy. Ian realized it had something to do with the rudimentary lie detector equipment the person in front of them was attached to. The operator was asking the man simple questions about his feelings for a woman, who turned red when the operator told her that the man was telling the truth. Ian shook his head believing the entire thing to be a scam, but when the man was asked if he loved the woman; said yes, and was outed as a liar; his thoughts changed.

He caught sight of a certificate that was placed on a far wall in the back of the vendor's booth, and he went to read it. The operator had been trained in Pan, and had all the credentials to back it up, something Ian was able to confirm with a quick text. With the random couple now arguing on their way out, the vendor approached Drax and Mills.

"The fee is paid upfront and is nonrefundable."
