Chapter 531: Tour-2

At the end of the tour, Lisa wanted the group to eat lunch with her. Mina wanted to leave, but she still had to talk business. She told miss Lisa that she preferred to close, and the woman nodded, seeming crestfallen, but otherwise, understanding. She asked Mina to follow her into her office, but she did not allow any of the men to join, saying that she and Mina would be discussing confidential figures.

Neither man protested, but they stood outside the doors, just in case. Eventually Drax wandered away to take a call. It was obviously something related to Mills, because the look of sadness on his face gave him away at once. A short while later, both women exited Lisa's office wearing smiles.

"Now there are no excuses, let's at least have a small bite together. I only prepared lunch for me and Ian, but there should be enough for all of us." Mina declined the offer as they started to head toward the lift. While waiting, she started to pat herself down.

"What is wrong?"

"Miss Lisa, I think I left my phone in your office."

"It doesn't have a working lock yet; you can go ahead and grab it." Mina nodded and jogged back to Lisa's office, finding her phone in such an obvious spot that she wondered how she left it behind. She heard the door shut behind her and arms wrapped around her body.

"I missed you," a familiar voice whispered into her ear. Mina shuddered and felt bile rise in her throat before she pulled away from the man and tried to get away, but the door was locked. Lisa's words rang in her mind, and she realized she had been tricked.

Panic swept over Mina in waves, she was living her worst nightmare, trapped in a room with the man she was most afraid of. She started to beat on the door; scratching it and kicking it. When her hands hurt too much, she turned to the window, picking up a chair to smash it open and jump out.

"Mina don't, you'll hurt yourself." Ren pulled the woman into his chest and forced her onto the ground so he could keep her steady.

"Please leave me alone," she cried. She was shaking so violently that Ren knew she was terrified, so he quickly tried to explain himself.

"Mina, listen to me. I know what I did to you was wrong. You were too young, and you didn't deserve any of it, but even if you never forgive me, I just need you to know that I was not the one driving my car that day." Mina's panic attack started to get painful, as she struggled against the man, who was not as strong as Cylus or President Lee, so she was able to move. Ren had to physically lay on top of her to stop her from breaking free. He had no doubt in his mind that Mina would jump out the window to get away from him.

"Please Ren, open the door. I will listen to you, but please open the door." Ren could not even respond. The woman he was looking at was nothing like the Mina he had left behind, there was nothing happy about her, and in her eyes, there was only fear.

"Who did this to you?" he asked in a whisper. He rubbed Mina's cheek, making the girl whimper as if she were in pain. Her nose was the reddest he had ever seen it, and he could feel her body trembling underneath him. "You aren't this way because of me. Someone hurt you. Tell me who it was," he demanded.

Ren had a meeting with CEO Cylus Rue, and he did not expect to run into Mina his first try. As soon as he saw her, he excused himself to his car, saying that he left something important behind. When CEO Rue was out of sight. Ren followed Mina into a nearby office and closed the door behind him, not expecting it to lock.

Seeing Mina in person was a dream Ren held onto from the moment he became Soren Mire. He had hoped to explain things to her, and while he knew she would be frightened, he never expected her to be so panicked that she could barely look at him. He pressed his forehead against hers, shushing her, and wishing that he could turn back time.

"I wish I had noticed you first. By now you would have been my wife, and we would have had two little girls, just like you wanted." Mina opened her eyes to see the man leaning in to kiss her. She turned her face so he kissed her cheek instead. "Please come back to me. Please bring me back my sweet and happy girl."

----

After a few minutes neither man could sit still, both sprinted in the direction of Lisa's office, and the woman chased after them shouting in fake confusion. She had arranged for Shai Cal to lock himself in her office with the woman and it had all been too easy. While Mina was staring out of the huge windows, Lisa slid her phone under a pile of documents, and sent a text to her assistant to place it back on top as soon as they were out of sight. Shai was part owner, so he was often in the building. Soren Mire, however, was not in Lisa's plans.

As soon as the secretary saw CEO Zane and President Lee running in her direction, she pointed to where Mr. Cal went with Miss Harlow, as she had been instructed. Lisa was baffled, she did not understand why Shai would have taken Mina into his personal office or how he had managed it, but none-the-less she followed.

----

Shai knew what Mina looked like, and he was shocked to see her wandering around in the lobby. His first impression was that while she was pretty, her body was not as voluptuous as it appeared on television. He introduced himself and told the woman that he was asked to escort her upstairs. Mina barely spoke, but she followed without question.

Seeing Lisa's office door closed, Shai brought the woman into his own, and he was sweet talking her when the doors flung open. Shai was good with misunderstandings, so as soon as he heard the doorknob shake, he made it appear as though he and Mina had just parted from a kiss, complete with wiping his lips before he turned around and feigned annoyance.

"Don't you know how to knock?" Ian had been frozen by the sight, but Zane, who knew of Shai, grabbed at the man, who stood to defend himself.

Ian took a good look at the red-faced woman, who was sitting in the room, and stalked toward her with a furious scowl. Lisa was beside herself with glee, but she pretended to be worried, pulling the man back as if she were trying to protect Mina, who stood and started to retreat in fear. He grabbed the woman by the neck before slamming her into a wall, and only then did Zane and Shai stop fighting.

"Who are you?" Ian growled. He was not choking the woman, but his grip was firm, and she could not pry his hand away.

"M- Mina."

"Wrong answer." Zane rushed to stop his friend, who he had believed had lost his mind, but he then noticed that Mina was wearing different clothing. When he studied her closely, he realized that the woman was not Mina at all.

"Where is she?" Ian questioned, and Lisa shouted at him.

"Ian, are you blind?"

"Shut up," he growled loudly, looking back at Lisa in rage. He turned his attention back to the imposter, his hand still around her neck.

"Who is shouting in here?" Cylus asked as he briskly walked into the room. He did not want to lose a client because of a couple's spat and had assumed he would find President Lee and Lisa arguing, but instead he saw Mina being strangled against a wall.
