Chapter 611: Ruined

Cam could not take his eyes off Mina, who had cooked breakfast for everyone in the home. He watched the woman serve his cousin while they exchanged conversation as if he and Zane were not standing in the room.

As much as Cam liked Camille, he could not help but to be jealous of Ian, who had the woman he wanted living with him, meanwhile he was still trying to convince the woman he had, that he only wanted her. Cam had even told Camille that he was helping someone else with Mina, but she simply laughed, telling him that she had heard a similar lie before.

In a petty fit of jealousy, Cam snatched Ian's plate and instructed Mina to make another, not expecting her to do it. He found himself distracted from his own mischief, worried that the food she was serving was poisoned. It was not until she served Mills that Cam relaxed, and bit into the food, surprised that it was as good as it looked. He glared at Ian, once again feeling jealous of the man.

"You cook well," Cam said, not meaning to speak the compliment aloud.

"Thank you," the woman replied meekly, and Zane slammed his fork down on his plate.

"Okay, Mina you're being weird."

"Yes, you are," Mills agreed before the woman could answer. Mina tensed, letting her eyes dart around the room before settling them on President Lee.

"She already said that breakfast was a peace offering. Leave her alone, she had a rough night." Once again, the men in the room looked at Ian curiously and once again, he saw no need to correct where their minds had gone.

Ian had been unable to sleep, so he entered Mina's room to check on her, fearing that she had woken and started working in her notebook again. She was still asleep, so he removed every book from her room. Ian expected Mina to be angry with him, but from her behavior, she was not offended and she seemed to be grateful.

Brayden sat across from his father in complete disgust of the man. He had married young, expressed regret early in the marriage, and divorced while Brayden's mother was still early in her pregnancy. Had it not been for family support, he did not know where he and his mother would have ended up, and somehow, his father had made his way into his life, threatening to ruin everything he worked hard for.

"What is taking you so long? I thought you said you never had a problem with women. You couldn't even get a kiss." Brayden's father tossed a photo of him and Mina behind the Free building onto a desk, and the man chuckled.

"She wants to take her time and I don't blame her. If you want this plan to work, let me move at my own pace; I will get her out of the picture."

"You like that girl, don't you?"

"Wouldn't be willing to do this if I didn't." Brayden's father cackled before replying.

"Don't disappoint your father son. Your sister has been pining over President Lee for so long and she hasn't been able to capture his attention because of that Mina woman."

"I don't have a sister," Brayden added. He hated when his father tried to force his half siblings on him because truthfully, they had never considered him as family. It was only after he signed with Rouge did they finally reach out, and that was purely because they wanted to meet with his boss's son.

Brayden was seventeen when he debuted as an artist, and at the time, he and Cylus were friendly with one another. His father showed up one day, asking to work on developing their relationship but he refused. A few days later, Brayden received nude photos of himself in the mail, and the harassment became continuously worse. He knew his father was behind the scheme because the man just so happened to visit before and after each occasion. However, no matter how hard President Rue tried to figure out who was behind the constant blackmail, it always led back to an obsessed fan, who would not have had the ability to pull off such sophisticated stunts. It was only after Brayden started to set up chance meetings for his sisters that things started to calm in his life.

"Hurry up and have your fun, record it, and let me do the rest," his father said coldly. "Your sister won't even leave her room knowing that the man she is in love with has another woman living in his home." Brayden grimaced at the thought. He too hated that Mina lived with a man, but when he had taken her home, the Lee mansion was not the address she gave him. Either she did not trust him to tell him the truth, or his father had the wrong information, which Brayden doubted.

"And after that part is done; what will happen to the girl?" Brayden had not always seen Mina as a means to an end. There was a time when he genuinely liked her, and even still he was fond of her, but she had chosen to believe Connor over him, and he hated losing, especially to that man.

"Whatever you want to do with her is fine by me. I don't have a problem with the girl, and she wouldn't make a bad daughter-in-law." Brayden glared at his father, who, as he knew, had destroyed Mina in his eyes. He had once seen her as innocent, but now he saw her as manipulative. She had made everyone think that she was different from other women, when in fact, she was exactly the same.

"No can do; I have a career I need to think about." The old man coughed while laughing at his only son. He believed he had been cursed by his first wife, but in the end, he had bent the curse to work in his favor.

Dom flopped on the mattress in the unit Rebecca had prepared for him. It was more comfortable than he was used to, and he had to admit that working to protect Mina came with its hazards, but it also came with perks. He had completed his work with Terrence and Doctor Sancho, and he had completed the last of the tasks given to him by Commander Drax; all he had left to do was rest, then he could return to the apartment where he was almost positive Olivia was waiting for him. He had already texted her that he would be home in time to go to the gender appointment with her, and she replied with a string of smiling faces that he knew was meant to make him laugh.

Olivia grew up with mostly male friends, whereas someone like Mina, who had more female companions would just look at the text as an expression of excitement, Olivia did not. Dom knew the inside joke behind it; it was something he, Olivia, Willow and Jay toyed around with all the time. They would reply to texts with emoticons and see what kind of response they would get. It was always interesting to see how different people interpreted a yellow circle with a face on it.

"Are you sleeping?" Dom sat up abruptly. He had been so lost in thought that he had not heard Rebecca enter the room.

"Sh*t Doc, you scared me."

"Sorry," the woman said, and Dom raised an eyebrow at her.

"What did I do wrong?" He asked, still unused to the woman apologizing and just being friendly in general.

"Nothing," she replied. "It's just been boring around here, and I haven't seen you in a while."

"I'm on assignment," Dom admitted, and Rebecca's eyes lit up.

"Can I join you?" she asked excitedly, and Dom chuckled while leaning back in the bed.

"It's not that kind of assignment. I live with Mina's friends." Rebecca's face soured, and Dom laughed again. "It's actually more fun than it sounds," the man admitted.

"Are they women?" Rebecca asked, and Dom raised an eyebrow at her.

"Why?" he questioned, hoping that she would not ask to move in. Olivia's pregnancy was not just a secret from her family, but Dom had also hidden it from his superiors, just as Mills had kept the information from her fiancé. If Rebecca showed up, all their efforts would come crashing down.

"What if I told you that I no longer believe in idiot DNA?" Dom did not even ask questions, he reached forward, and in one motion pulled Rebecca down to the bed with him. He rolled on top of her, kissing her with years' worth of wanting to know what her lips felt like.

Rebecca gasped for air, and Dom used the opening to push his tongue into her mouth, swirling it around as the woman clumsily tried to keep up with him. He trailed kisses down her neck, removing both of their clothing as he did. He only stopped to admire the woman's body, which was just as he imagined it to be. He had never seen her in anything that was not uniform, but there was a time during training when she was soaked in water, and since then, he had always wanted to see what was underneath it.

Dom attacked the woman's lips again, ripping her underwear from her body, before pushing down his own and kicking it off his feet. He positioned himself at Rebecca's entrance overwhelmed with excitement that was soon dashed by reality.

"What do I do?" Rebecca asked. She looked confused, and Dom found himself mirroring her expression.

"What do you mean? Haven't you done this before?" Rebecca shook her head and Dom peeled himself off her body as if she had just told him there was a fire. "Nope," he said as he started to put his clothing back on.

"What happened? What's wrong?" Rebecca asked, she too had started to dress, and Dom felt bad for confusing her.

"Sorry Doc, but I am not going to be your first." The woman scoffed and pushed him in a way that was meant to make him fall back onto the bed, but he did not allow her to get her way.

"Dom, I am not an idiot; now lay back down." Dom found himself sitting and Rebecca climbed on top of him.

"Doc, this is so, so wrong," he muttered as the woman pressed forceful kisses onto his lips.

"We've done worse," she replied, and Dom flipped her body under his again.

"I don't want to do this," he said, wearing a conflicted expression and Rebecca pushed him away from her.

"Fine, don't do it then. I will just find someone else who will. It's not like there isn't an entire floor full of men who would be grateful that I even looked at them."

"And none of them would be better than me," Dom retorted, feeling as though he had to defend his manhood. Rebecca scoffed again, pulling her shirt over her head with so much force that Dom thought the fabric would tear.

"You will regret this Cedrick." Dom watched the woman storm out of the room and he had the annoying urge to follow her. He did not want her to make good on her promise of finding someone else because, unlike him, there were several men who would use the information to antagonize Bressaw.

"Where are you going?" Dom asked, picking the woman up and bringing her back into the room, locking the door behind them. "Listen, I don't mind giving you what you want, but this isn't the place and I'm the worst person."

"If you're no good at it then why do women keep letting you do it?" Dom felt his face go red. "Is that what this is about? If you are bad at it, we can keep doing it until you get better."
