Chapter 801: Innocent.

Ian did not like breaking his fiancé's heart, but he felt as though he had to tell her some of her past in order to keep her from being hit with the terrible memories all at once. He also wanted to protect her from herself, feeling as though she was truly at war in her mind. She had not actually said anything, but Ian could tell that Mina was upset about not being able to remember, especially when the memories were happy.

So, to give her some perspective, Ian started with the locks on her bedroom door, briefly mentioned her father's habitual helping, even though he was not in a financially stable position to do so, and rounded with her uncle forcing her parents into extreme debt. He told her that anytime she displayed behaviors that her parents found frightening or odd, she was punished by being locked in her room. That seemed to be the most difficult thing for Mina to bear, and she shook her head in denial.
