Chapter 832: Uncomfortable

Ian did not like how much his wife smiled when she talked to Tavin about his relationship with Luna, and when he spotted a new ring on his sister's finger, he immediately grew annoyed. Because of her, he lost over a year with his wife, and although there was no confirmation, he was convinced he lost a child because of her involvement. He knew he was being hypocritical by forgiving his mother and not his sister, but the difference was that one knew everything about Lisa, while the other had only been filled in on what Luna determined was essential information. He kept telling himself that it was jealousy that made his sister do what she did, and midway through the dinner, Luna gave up on appearances.

"I can't," she said, pushing away from the table with a look of pure hurt on her face. "I can't pretend anymore. Mina, Ian hates me for good reason, and it's obvious that I'm unwelcome here."

"By him or me?" Mina asked, standing as Luna stood.
