At exactly 5.00 am in the morning,Jing Lingli stood in front of Mo Youyou's door frantically knocking and calling out her name.
She had woken up an hour ago in the hospital beside her mother and was told she had passed out immediately after she brought her mother in.
Even though the doctors advised she take some rest, she knew she wouldn't be able to feel comfortable knowing her mother was in a very critical condition and furthermore, they had made it known to her that without any deposit they wouldn't be able to attend to her mother so she left the hospital against their wishes leaving her sister behind with her mother with the promise of coming back with the payment for her mother's treatment.
She knocked on the door one more time before wiping off the tears that had formed in her eyes minutes ago.
Whenever she remembers the state in which her mother was,she always felt like rolling on the ground, yelling and wailing to reveal all the pain and sorrow she was feeling inside but she knew it wouldn't change anything so she chose to be strong and fight fo her family instead.
She knew crying wasn't going to solve her problems.
If only her brother were to be here, she wouldn't have been facing this storm alone.
Why did he even leave at the first place? Why did he have to go?
Jing Lingli sniffed loudly and was about to knock on the door once more when it opened and a sleepy eyed Youyou peeped out,and when she noticed she was the one,her face suddenly turned cold and angry.
"How dare you disrupt my sleep? What is it you want Lingli?"
"I'm sorry miss Mo,my mother's condition had turned out to be very serious than I thought and we had to rush her to the hospital."Jing Lingli explained in a hurry as she played with her fingers nervously, praying silently in her heart.
She knows that Mo Youyou was from a rich home and was the only heiress so she was hoping she could help her, with the fact that she was her only hope and that she had no one else she could turn to apart from her.
"And so?"Mo Youyou's question caught her off gaurd, jolting her from her trance.
" I know I shouldn't come to you with this issue but I had no one else to ask for help that's why I came running to you.I need some money for my mother's treatment."Jing Lingli pleaded, and the tears which she couldn't hold back anymore came rushing down her cheeks like a flowing river.
She stared at Mo Youyou in shock as she burst out laughing, looking at her mockingly.
"Do I look like Santa Claus to you?"She asked immediately she was done laughing, staring daggers at her assistant."No....Tell me,do I look like I run a charity organization over here? Why the hell would you come knocking at my door at this time just for this nonsense? I'm not an ATM machine, get that into your poor stricken head."She rained insults on the crying girl and was about to shut the door in her face, but Jing Lingli rushed quickly and held the door with her hand.
"Please, please you have to help me."She cried out and knelt down in the doorway, begging."You can give me the money as a loan,I promise immediately I get my salary,I'll pay you back."
"Get up and leave.I don't have any money to give you and if you refuse to go I'll make sure I get you kicked out of the company, and make you more miserable than you are now."Mo Youyou threaghtened before pushing her assistant away and shutting the door in her face.
Jing Lingli refused to give up and kept banging on the door crying for help but it never opened again and she gave up.
She rested her body against the door and kept sobbing before she slid down the door unto the floor.
She held the hem of her dress and blew her nose into it severally before wiping her tears, and pushing a pile of hair that had dropped in her face off.
Her phone rang and she hurriedly picked it up,"Jinha, are you okay?"She asked sounding calm and okay not wanting to alert her sister.
"Have you been crying?"Jing Jinha's worried voice sounded in her ear and a smile appeared on her face.
Her sister was very young but she was always good at reading her moods and understanding her better than anyone else.
She was like her best friend and she knew there was nothing she could hide from her,but not today, she couldn't allow her to know she had really been crying because as to now,she was the only one giving her hope and confidence, she can't let her know she was breaking down. She needs to act tough and strong for her sake.
"Haaahaaa...!Who said I was crying?"She forced a laugh and spoke with confidence to convince her little sister."I can't be crying whilst I have the money for mum's treatment."She lied and heard her younger sisters joyful laughter from the other line.
"You mean you got the money for mum's treatment?"Jing Jinha asked, her tiny voice full of hope and happiness."For once I was very much worried."She added, her voice now a little above a whisper.
"Worried?Did something happen to mum when I left?"She asked, jumping to her feet, ready to rush back to the hospital at any moment.
"Yes!The doctor said she lost a whole lot of blood and if we don't hurry with the deposit she might die."The vibrant and joyous voice that she once used to talk was gone,in it's place was one full of sorrow and pain.
Jing Lingli was hurt by the pain her younger sister was going through.
She was too young and shouldn't be experiencing this hard life but circumstances wouldn't allow her.
"Just don't worry, make sure you take very good care of mother,I'm coming with the money soon."Jing Lingli assured her sister before hanging up the call.
She was about to walk away when someone called her from behind.
"I'll help you."She heard the female voice behind her and after she turned back,a look of shock was registered on her face.
