Chapter 3

Third Person's Point of View

July 13, 2020 (8. a.m)

It's Monday again.

Northville's students are walking like a zombie in the hallway. You can see different expressions on their faces. Most of them are shouting laziness and whining that it's Monday again. Back to academics problems. Back to reality where you will spend your time listening to boring professors, doing requirements in your free hours, and patiently waiting for dismissal time is like taking forever before it will finally come.

But some students are busy murmuring and talking to their friends about what happened during their weekend--where they spent it and the like.

But it's a clear view that many are still occupied by the rumors that circulated during the weekend while some don't even care about it.

Suzy is walking absentmindedly in the hallway when someone taps her shoulder. She almost jump out of shock which made Rebecca laugh.

"Woah! What's wrong, Suzz? You're walking like the dead," Rebecca commented.

Suzy shook her head vigorously. "It's nothing. It's just. . .it's just. . .I mean. . .Aira was missing and I'm thinking about how I would dramatically spill it in class." Suzy smiled and winked. "You know me, Ash. I always want to deliver something dramatically. Haha!" she laughed nervously while checking her surroundings as if someone was watching her but Rebbecca haven't noticed her weird behavior because she also became preoccupied with the news that Suzy spilled to her like water. Like it's nothing big. Like Aira's raped and missing news is just a normal thing but it's not. And it will never be.

Yes, they knew a lot of students on their campus who were engaging in sex like it's a normal thing to do. That virginity is nothing big in this generation. A lot of students are also displaying their affections for their girlfriends and boyfriends carelessly inside campus.

But talking about rape? It's not normal. Northville's students would just shrug it off if it is permitted sex or they will just think that it is not rape. That's how they are.

Suzy and Rebecca haven't realized that they already reached their classroom because they are both preoccupied. They were just brought back to reality when Ashley pushed them.

"Girlzzzz, what's wrong? You've pazzed our classroom's door already. Are you heading somewhere without me?" Ashley pouted.

Suzy smiled widely pretending to be energetic.

"Of course not, Ash. Where would we go? Our first-class is being handled by a terror one so who would dare to skip it?"

Suzy puts her hand on Ashley's shoulder and went inside their classroom. Rebecca silently followed.

"I thought you already heard the newzz that Aira was missing and you're going to catch something about it without me," Ashley said as she sit down on her chair.

"You're all believing that ridiculous rumor, Ashley? Aira didn't go missing. She's just hiding out of embarrassment, guys. That's the truth," Xander said while laughing.

All of their classmates looked at Xander. Some are thinking about the possibility that Xander's statement might be true.

"Stop spreading shit, Xander. We don't know a thing yet," Rebecca countered.

Xander walked towards Rebecca's seat and bend until their face was just an inch away from each other.

"I like your guts, Rebecca. Do you also want to be like Aira? I can make you go missing too out of embarrassment so that you will finally understand what I'm saying. Just say yes, Rebecca."

Xander winked and tried to kiss Rebecca. Fortunately, Rebecca's reflex is fast that's why she had avoided the attempt.

"STOP BLABBERING NONSENSE, XANDER!! PEOPLE MIGHT THINK THAT YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO DO ABOUT AIRA'S MISSING AND RAPE CASE," Suzy shouted and pushed Xander away from Rebecca.

"Oooh! I'm scared." Xander hugged himself playfully to mock Suzy. "I dare them to think that way and spread it. Let's see what will happen to them." He said seriously and eyed all of his classmates. He just laughed again when they avoided his gaze. They know Xander as a troublemaker who can always get away with it through his father.

Everyone became silent after that and just talked while whispering with their friends.

Fifteen minutes after 8 a.m., their terror teacher, Mr. Dela Cruz arrived. She

"Classes were suspended today. There will be a general meeting later at the gym and everyone in this class is strictly advised to attend it."

The whole class murmured again.

"What's the meeting all about, sir?" Renzo asked who just arrived with Dylan and Andrew. They are still standing at the doorway showing no sign of intimidation towards Mr. Dela Cruz.

"It's about the issue floating around. Don't ask anymore because all your questions will be answered later at the meeting. Goodbye."

Mr. Dela Cruz strode out of the room leaving their class in heightened curiosity.
