Greedy

"What do you suggest?" She said, her tone bored as if she would rather be anywhere but there. Time to take advantage of this situation.

Alexander will control this bargain.

"How about fifty-fifty?" He smirked. Alexander knew they were going to have a huge fight over this. This girl was greedy when it came to money. He would also like to think she was greedy for his kisses, too. She was just too shy and stubborn to admit it to herself.

Nevertheless, Alexander prepared himself for the worst.

"Okay, call." She crossed her arms and lifted her chin proudly as if she gives away 1, 500 dollars to every stranger she encountered. As if she had lots of money to spare. As if she isn't greedy about it.

"What?" Maybe Alexander didn't hear her right.

"Any more suggestions?" She prompted.

His eyebrows knitted together.

What is wrong with her?

Did Alexander do something wrong?

"Okay, now that's settled." She clapped her hands in feign excitement. "Let's go to the bank. I need the money and I want to go home now. I'm tired of standing here while we've got nothing better to do than share its other's germs."

Sharing each other's germs? Alexander was such a good kisser and all she cared about was germs?

Oh, that telltale sarcasm was back.

"My dears, are you going now?" The old lady entered from the back door of the shop at that exact moment and he suddenly forgot his train of thoughts which concerned Red.

"Yes, mam. We're going now. Thanks for your hospitality." Alexander said politely.

"No, It was me who need to thank the two of you. Many girls were here looking for you while both of you are in there--" she pointed at the small restroom,--"they bought a lot of souvenirs."

"Oh." Okay. "Then, we better get going."

Alexander looked around looking for Red when he noticed she disappeared beside him. She came back to the counter holding two dolphin keychains.

"Mam. I want to buy this."

The old lady was ecstatic. " Oh, you don't need to return the favor, my dear, you already have by hiding in here earlier."

"It's okay, mam." She smiled. "I like this."

She handed her the money, walked towards him, grabbed his phone from his pocket, attached that tiny little dolphin to it, and gave them back to him.

She also attached the other dolphin keychain to her phone.

"The dolphin is the most intelligent mammal in the world." She smiled sweetly. "If you're feeling stupid, don't hesitate to ask it for guidance."

She walked out the door and left him inside the souvenir shop, with his mouth hanging open.

In awe.

How can she give a very thoughtful gift to someone and still manage to have this sarcastic repartee along with it?

Alexander threw his head back and laughed.

Art wasn't her best talent.

It was sarcasm.
