"Where's your girl, Lexi?" Marco stroked his chin and smirked. "This is the first time I haven't seen you pick one. You told me exactly this morning that you're going hunting."
"Please stop calling me Lexi, Marco," Alexander complained. "It sounds like a damn sissy and it's true. I did go on female hunting."
"So how did this female hunting go?" Marco sounded skeptical and it sounded like an insult. It's as if he was telling everyone that he had imaginary female friends.
"She's definitely real." Alexander said, annoyed. " I didn't make her up. You'll see. "
"Then where is she?"
"She's busy with her make-up," Alexander replied. "You know how girls are and all that shit."
My friends didn't look convinced.
"Did you text her?"
Damn. Alexander didn't have her number. He was an idiot. "I forgot to ask."
"Maybe, she stood you up." Jason quipped.
"No one has ever stood me up before."
"Then pick up your favorite here at this party. " Marco said, exasperated. "It's better than watching you look miserable."
"I am not miserable!" Alexander growled and they laughed at him.
"Don't tell me you forgot how to pick up some girls?" Blake frowned. "Do you want me to teach you how?"
The main problem was Alexander's friends knew him as the fun-loving, party-hard bloke he normally used to be. so now they were making fun of him for being anxious about an 'imaginary' girl.
"I have someone, okay?" Alexander gathered a breath and met Blake's earnest light-blue eyes. Blake was really serious when he thought he couldn't pick up girls? "You acting all concerned about such a simple problem make me gag."
Alexander shifted his weight from one foot to another and glanced at the entrance again. Cat was an hour late. Another ten minutes and she would go and find her even if he had no idea where to start. He wondered where that girl is.
He would drag Cat here if necessary. She wasn't the type to waste money and the Coachella tickets she bought for the two of them.
She'll come, Alexander told himself a million times tonight. It would be a shame if she backed out from the deal. They have argued this afternoon about her coming to the party.
She would try to spin some kind of tale and excuses that she was tired and wanted to go home but he sensed there was some other reason for her reluctance to attend. Did she hate him? Nah, it's nearly impossible to hate him. Maybe, she hated parties.
This afternoon, Alexander had finally convinced her to come, saying that he was never going to see her again which was very, very far from the truth. He planned to see her every day just so he could have fun and annoy the hell out of her.
It was now after seven and all of Alexander's bandmates were here having fun with their girls. Well, Blake, Marco, and London had their own dates while Jason, Garred, and I were surrounded by the groupies. If this continued, he would never have some real fun with Red and his friends.
And Cat was supposed to come here so that Alexander could show her to his friends, enjoy the night and avoid this unwanted sea of arse and tits from clinging to him. If she didn't show, Alexander could kiss the whole thing good-bye. He faked a smile at the two girls on either side of him, touching his stomach and stimulating him. For some reason, his stomach roiled.
Two men behind him began to murmur about the party now getting interesting and how they would like to take that one home. Alexander turned toward the entrance again and nearly dropped his drink.
Very nice. Cat was spectacular in that dark blue one-piece swimsuit that hugged her figure. There were some large tear-shaped holes on the side of her stomach and it also showed that hot little red jewelry on her navel.
Her creamy, soft skin glowed and it set off the tiny bicolored sapphires perfectly as it nestled at the top of her cleavage, the mounds of her breasts made his chest tighten.
Alexander's roaming eyes looked at her mile-long legs playing peek-a-boo. Long and thin sailor blue-white strips of cloth covered them, tied loosely on her waist. He never thought those thigh-high slits could mesmerize him this much.
Her eyes searched the room and when she spotted him, she paled. Cat's eyes were wide, frightened almost. Abruptly, she turned and disappeared into the crowd. Alexander slammed his glass down on the bar and went after her.
It took him a while to untangle himself from the groupies when he found her chatting with someone at the far end. As soon as she spotted him again, she stepped backward, ready to bolt to the exit.
"Cat." Alexander called out, his eyes narrowing at the guy he was with. As he made his way over to them, every male eye in the room was on her. She just stood frozen on the spot, as if she was a deer caught on the headlights.
Her face was free of make-up except for a bright orange lipstick. Tiny red, orange, and yellow flowers adorned her entire left cheek. She probably painted them to cover those red smudges on her face. Alexander smiled at her, deliriously happy that now she arrived at the party
Finally. Tonight will never get boring.
Alexander regarded the guy Red has made small talk with. He was short and Alexander towered over him. He didn't understand the reason why Cat would pick his company over him.
"Get over here," Alexander muttered under his breath.
She had no business with other guys except him.
"Excuse me?"
"I said come here." Alexander motioned her to come over with a finger.
"No." She glared at him.
Alexander tilted his head and smirked, noticing how those large bright blue feathers on her ear made her red hair stand out more than ever. She was definitely beautiful, a beautiful prize. Like a red phoenix.
Alexander stepped over, grabbed her by the waist, and said, "I'd like you to meet my friends." He lifted her up over his shoulder like a sack of rice and carried her, looking past his shoulder and grinning. "I think they'll like you."
