"Can I help Ms. Reid, sir?" Someone asked while I was busy answering item number one. "I think five items is too much for her."
What is that supposed to mean?
I turned around to scan the class, finding where that unfamiliar husky voice came from. My eyes caught the hooded gaze of the guy who sat on my desk beside the window, one hand raised to get Professor Adam's attention while his fingers raked through his messy blond hair.
"Mr. Ailes." Professor Adams said dryly. "You could have offered earlier the moment I arrived at the class today. That way, I wouldn't have to waste our time waiting for Ms. Reid here when you could have done them yourself."
"I was a transfer student in the middle of the semester, Mr. Adams. I don't have the given Math problems for the assignment." He commented, his green eyes sparkling with mirth.
He glances at me and I looked away quickly, minding my own business as I continued writing the equations. "If you have written them first on the blackboard when you arrived instead of Ms. Reid, I could have—"
Mr. Adams cut him off. He cuts them smart-ass when he thinks they deserve it. "Are you sure you could handle the problems written on the blackboard?"
The transfer student nodded.
"Odd numbers, Reid and you--" Mr. Adams instructed as he pointed a finger at the blond guy. "You solve the even numbers."
Items two and four are too difficult. I paid online to have access to those exclusive Math tutorials and forums just to get answers. This guy would regret acting all high and mighty if Mr. Adams is in the mood to publicly embarrass someone in class.
I hear his footsteps as he walked towards Mr. Adams' table to get some chalk. He rolled his sleeves up to his elbows. When I proceeded to number three, he stood a couple of inches near me as he answered item two.
The way he intentionally dragged the chalk on the blackboard repeatedly as it squeaked and slid on the smooth surface while he wrote the formulas grated my nerves. I was about to glare at him as a warning for him to stop it but instead, I gaped at him when I saw the guy up close.
Wow.
If a sunflower could be a boy then this could be him.
He was taller than anyone in this class. He wasn't buffed at all. He was skinny for a guy and too pretty for his good. He has light blond hair they were almost silver and green eyes so bright they were almost yellow-green like a cat's. Perhaps, they would glow in the dark too.
His skin was as smooth as porcelain and as white as snow, his cheekbones were high and his cherry-red lips were bow-shaped like a cherub's.
The guy was too beautiful to be human. Nobody could be this flawless. Except for Gabriel, of course. And on top of that, he's one of the transfer students, too.
Then, this guy must have been Gabriel's friend from the other world.
My nose crinkled in distaste. Since I have already met Gabriel, I conclude that this guy isn't human too. His perfection reminds me of Gabriel too much and what I have witnessed with Lauren earlier. It left a bitter taste in my mouth.
I looked away and my eyes strayed on his right hand while he was answering.
There was a tattoo of a sword at the back of his hand that held the chalk.
Knight of Swords.
Who would have thought?
Stay away from guys with tattoos on their right hand.
The guy noticed me glowering at his tattoo and his face back and forth for what seemed like an eternity. He looked at me from head to toe as if sizing me up and I scowled at him. He cocked an eyebrow at me and smirked.
"See something you like?"
Mr. Adams walked behind us and looked him over with his half-moon glasses.
"You surprise me with your intelligence, Mr. Ailes. You answered it correctly." Mr. Adams enunciated as he reviewed his step-by-step equations written on the board. "I shall be expecting more from you this semester."
Mr. Adams had the gall to pat the transfer student in the back while he disregarded the problems I solved. He walked away after complimenting Ailes.
Furious, I fisted the chalk I was holding and it snapped into two.
