Chapter 22

I was up early than usual, by the time I got home last night my parents had retired to their wing and I knew not to disturb them. It was 6:30 am; Monday morning, I sat in the kitchen on my iPad as Melissa made breakfast. I was super anxious to know if Knight had told the others what happened, but my phone wasn't going off which was good (hopefully). Just like clockwork I could hear my mother's heels hitting the tiles. Holding the hot cup of coffee to my face, unsure how the interaction is going to go. My mother comes into a view, she was wearing a two-piece suit and her hair in a low bun. Looking down at my outfit, the blue and black Chanel vintage skirt and white sleeves I was wearing weren't up to standards, let not even talk about my hair. Her boney hands reach out, letting me see the gold Rolex my dad gave her for Christmas. She grabs my face, staring into my eyes looking for something. I frown yanking out of her grip.
