Chapter 22: Accident

Justin's POV:

Three Weeks Later*

After Angel's birthday bash, we've grown pretty close. She seemed even more on edge lately. I've been tryna talk to her about it but she says she fine. I've been worried about her since her birthday. I tried to tell myself that she's really okay but I got a feeling that she's not. Me, her, Mike, and Kacey went to the park to go get Celia's little brother and my little brother and sister. They were playing in the jungle gym. "Guys lets go." Kacey called. They whined and got off the gym. I looked at Angel. She was looking around the park. I looked at Mike. He shrugged. "Please Kacey. We wanna play a little bit longer." Alison whined. "No guys. We gotta go." She said. "Hey where's Tasha?" Otis asked. "She's at the doctors office. Keisha went to go get her." Angel said. Otis smiled. The kids ran to the car and got in. I pulled Angel back a bit. "What's up?" She asked. "You. Angel your not yourself. You haven't been yourself lately." I said, crossing my arms.

She rolled her eyes. "Justin don't start with this again." She said, rolling her eyes. "I'm going to. You seem so on guard about something but there's nothing out here to hurt you." I said. "Grey is out there." She said, crossing her arms. "Okay But He isn't here right now." I said. "Guys let's go!!" Mike yelled. "Look I don't wanna do this right now." She said, walking away to the car. We got in and drove off to take the kids back home. As we rode, I looked at Angel. She seemed really irritated with me. I couldn't help it. I was worried about her. We pulled up to Celia's house and watched her little brother run inside. Just then, Otis gasped and cried out in pain. "Otis? Otis what's wrong?" I asked. He began crying. I picked him up in my arms. "Otis what's wrong?! OTIS?!" I yelled. He looked up at me. Just then, Kacey gasped. Her eyes became milky white.

After a second they were normal. "Kacey what was that?" Mike asked, looking at her. "Keisha and Tasha got into an accident." She whispered. Angel gasped. Tears streamed down her face. "Otis is that what's wrong with you?" I asked. He nodded and cried. It made Alison cry too. "Where are they?" Angel asked. "At McDonald's." Kacey said. Mike pulled out of the yard and sped towards McDonald's. Oh Tasha. Please be okay. I looked at Angel. Tears kept streaming down her face as it turned red from crying. We turned a corner to see a red car flipped upside down. Another car was nearby. It had a huge dent in it. We pulled up next to it. Angel got out and ran to the cars. "TASHA!!! KEISHA!!!" She cried. We got out and ran to the cars. "Kacey watch them." I said, looking back at Otis and Alison. Other cars pulled up and people began to crowd around. "Kacey call 911." Mile yelled.

"Already on it." She said. Angel pulled out Tasha first. She had blood coming out her nose, forehand, legs and arms. She looked bruised up. Mike then pulled out Keisha. Both of them were knocked out and bleeding badly. I looked inside the car to see another little girl inside. I reached in and pulled her out. "Who is this?" I asked. "That's Tasha's friend." Angel said. She began to cry over Tasha as she held her close. Fire trucks, police cars, and ambulances pulled up and came to us. They picked up Tasha, Keisha, and the little girl and put them on gurneys. They got into the ambulances and drove off. Angel wanted to follow them so we got back in the car and drove to the hospital. Angel called her parents and Trey and told them the news. Mike drove to my house so I could drop them off. Otis wanted to see Tasha but I told him no. Mike then drove to the hospital. As soon as we parked, Angel got out and ran inside.

I looked around and saw more cars pull up. Bryant, Stephanie, Trey, Bishop, Annie, and them got out and ran inside. We asked for Tasha and Keisha. The nurse said a room number and went to the elevator. Bryant, Stephanie, Trey, and Angel were the most upset. Stephanie and Angel were sobbing badly. I held Angel while Bryant held Stephanie. I felt so bad for them. When the doors opened, we looked around for the room number and walked into the room. Luckily, Keisha and Tasha rooms were on the same floor near each other. We walked in and saw nurses and doctors perform CPR on Tasha. We had to leave so they could work. We all sat in the waiting room for hours, waiting for any news. Finally, a doctor came in and said that Keisha and Tasha were fine. But Tasha's friend died. I felt bad for the little girl. It was so sad to see a little girl go at such a young age. Stephanie called the girl's parents and they rushed down here too.

We walked up to the floor and walked to Tasha's room. We walked in to see her crying. She looked up at us. "DADDY!!!" She cried as she reached for him. "Oh my baby." Stephanie cried as she ran to her. Angel, Trey, and Bryant ran behind her. "Mama, they said Michelle died. Tell me that's not true." Tasha asked. None of them said anything. She began to cry even harder. I walked out the room and walked down to Keisha's room. I knocked and opened the door. She looked at me. She looked so weak. "Hey Harry." She said, weakly. I walked up to her. "Keisha how you feel?" I asked. "I just got into a car accident. How you think I feel?" She asked, sarcastically. Nice to know she still the same. "Sorry." She said, after a moment. "It's cool. Keisha what happened?" I asked, sitting down. "That's what I'd like to know." Annie said, with her arms crossed.

I turned and looked at her. "Annie, she's hurt right now." I said. She looked at me. "I know. So Keisha what happened?" She asked, walking in the room. Bishop came behind her. I got up and had her sit down in the chair. "I don't know. One minute I'm driving, the next a car hits us. Annie that car came outta nowhere. The light was green when I went through. That car was on the left of me. It should had stopped like the rest of the cars." She said. "Did you see what was driving?" Bishop asked. She shook her head. "I didn't see anything. I was focused on driving." She said. There was a knock on the door. We turned to see Angel walk in. She had tears in her eyes. "Keisha." She whispered. "Hey best fran." Keisha said. Angel ran to her. "Easy Angel." Bishop said. "Oh sorry." She said. She got on her knees to talk to Keisha. "Keisha, how you feeling?" She asked. "I've been through this. I'm fine y'all. I'm hurting but I'm fine." Keisha said.

"What happened?" Angel asked. "A car came out of nowhere and T-boned me." She answered. "I'm glad y'all all right." Angel said. "Yeah. Where that other girl, Tasha's friend?" She asked. Angel looked away. "She died." Annie said. Keisha gasped. "Yo are you serious?! That's crazy. She was such a sweet girl." Keisha said. She had tears in her eyes. Angel and hugged her. "Yo what the fuck? You think the police has whoever hit them in jail right now?" I asked. "I don't know. I'll go see." Annie said. "No. You relax. I'll go." Bishop said, as he left. Annie rolled her eyes at him. "Annie don't do that. He's looking out for you." I said. "I'm fine. I can handle things now." She said. "Your gonna pop next month. You should be taking it easy." I said. She glared at me. "Keisha, yo girl don't do that to me again." Angel said. Keisha chuckled weakly.

"Sorry. How y'all know we got into an accident? I mean it just happened." She said. "Kacey had a vision." Angel said. "And Otis felt pain Tasha's pain." I said. "Oh. No wonder the police and ambulances showed up so fast." She said. Bishop then walked back into the room. He was followed by Bryant, Stephanie, and Trey. "Hey Mama." Keisha said. Stephanie smiled and walked over to her. A couple walked into the room behind Bryant. "Hi actual Mama." Keisha said. I looked at them. Keisha favored her mom more. "Babygirl I'm so glad your all right." Her dad said, as he walked up to his daughter. I looked at Angel. She was on her phone. She had earbuds in her ears. I looked at Keisha. She was consoling with her parents. I walked out the room back to Tasha's. I walked in and she looked over at me. "Hey Tasha. Are you okay?" I asked.

"She stared at me. "Tasha are you okay?" I asked, again. She still stared at me. "Did I do something to you?" I asked. "No. I just want you to be my friend." She said. I was super confused. "What? I am your friend Tasha." I said. "You don't act like it." She said. "Sorry." I said. I smelled vanilla and turned around to see Angel standing in the doorway. She motioned me over. She grabbed my hand and pulled me to the elevator. "Angel what's up?" I asked. She pressed a down buttons and the doors closed. She had tears in her eyes. "Justin, we need to break up." She said. My heart broke. "What?" I asked. I looked at her. "Angel what are you talking about?" I asked. "You heard me. We need to break up." She said. I moved closer to her but she moved away from me. "What did I do?" I asked moving closer but she backed up.

"I just can't do this anymore." She said. I moved closer to her but the elevator doors opened so she moved out. "Do what?" I asked, following her. She didn't say anything til we were outside. "Justin, I don't like you anymore. I don't love you anymore, okay? I'm over you." She yelled. No. "Angel I don't believe that." I said. She looked at me, anger in her eyes. "Well believe it. I'm done. We're done. Okay? I have feelings for you whatsoever." She said. I was shocked by her. "Tell me what I did to make you feel this way." I said. "Your too clingy. You make me feel like I'm always babying you. You act like your smarter than me. Your a punk ass nigga. You are such a pussy. You are too pussy to break it off with Abby. You are too pussy to ever hurt me when we fuck. You are not man. Your a little boy." She shouted.

My feelings were hurt. "You had to get advice from my Dad to finally grow a pair of balls and break it off with Abby. She has way more balls than you do and you were born with two of them. You are such a fucking baby dude. I can't believe I actually let you take my virginity. I can't believe I actually thought you and I would have something." She continued. "But I thought....you cared about me...." I said softly. "Exactly. You thought. I never cared about you Justin. I just felt so sorry for you. You let a bitch take control of your life for six fucking years. She cheated on you for years yet you did nothing about it. You said nothing about it. You are such a pussy dude. Fuck outta here. I want a man, not a boy. Your barely a boy. Don't talk to me, don't call me, don't come see me, don't do anything with me ever again. I don't fuck with you anymore. Deal with it." She shouted as she walked back inside the hospital.

I was so hurt by her words that I didn't realize it was raining. I stood there in the parking lot, soaking wet. I walked to a tree and sat under it. I looked up and saw Angel come back out with Bryant and them. Mike and Kacey came out behind them. Annie and Bishop came out behind them. Bishop looked up at me and called out to me. It made everyone look at me. I didn't wanna be seen so I got up and ran. I ran into the woods across the road and disappeared into the woods. I transformed and flew home. I landed and ran inside the house, all the way up to my room. I slammed my door and locked it. I threw myself on the bed and cried my eyes out. She hurt me so badly. I heard a small knock on my door. I growled loudly and yelled for them to go away.

I didn't wanna be seen. I didn't wanna talk to anybody. I cried some more til I fell asleep. I woke up and the been ya of what happened filled my head. Angel broke up with me. *whimpers* I got up and walked out my room, downstairs to the kitchen. I seen Alison and Otis sitting on my Mom and Dad's laps. They all looked at me. "We know about what happened to Tasha and Keisha." Mom said. "And about Angel breaking up with you." Dad said. I didn't say anything. I grabbed a snack and went back upstairs. "Son." Dad called. I didn't answer. I went into my room and slammed my door again. I laid in bed and looked up at the ceiling. I looked around my room and saw pictures of me and Angel. Us at the beach. Us at the lake. Us at the cave where she found the Great Amulet.

Us at the movies. It was all us. It was another picture of her and me laying down on my bed, all cuddled up with each other. I then got angry and began smashing all the pictures. I threw them all to the ground, hearing the glass break. I was so pissed off at her. I couldn't control myself. After I let my rage out, I sat down on my bed and looked at the damage I did to my room. I heard an alarm on my phone. I sighed and texted Annie and Bishop that I couldn't come in tonight. Annie texted back that she understood. I walked out my room to another room and laid down. I began crying again. I couldn't hold back my tears. After awhile, I calmed down. I heard footsteps come near the room so I turned over on my side. The door opened and I smelled my Mom's scent. The door closed and she walked in.

"Justin I know your not sleep." She said. I rolled my eyes. She then walked til she was in front of me. "Justin I'm so sorry." She said, as she sat down next to me. My eyes welled up again. I closed my eyes. I'm done crying. "Mom why is it so hard?" I asked, my voice broke. "It's life sweetie." She said. She hugged me and I started crying again. "It's okay sweetie. It'll get better." She said. "How? I loved Angel with everything in me. And she breaks up with me for no reason. I did nothing to her. She doesn't want me. No one wants me." I said, as I broke down in her arms. "Just give it time. She'll realize her mistake and come back. Angel doesn't seem like that type of person." She said. "She was when she broke up with me." I said. "She'll come back. I just know it." She said.

"Why did she leave me Mom? I love her so much. She means everything to me." I said. "Angel has so much going on in her life right ow baby. She has to show her new powers to the Magic Council. She's learning new powers. Her little sister and best friend was just in a bad car accident. She's under a lot of stress. Just give her time to heal and figure out her life." She said. "That's all she had to say, that she needed some space. I would've given it to her. We didn't have to break up." I said. "She needs to focus Justin. She's a Uni-Hybrid. She has so much to do in so little time." She said. "But it's not fair. Abby cheats on me, Angel leaves me, what's next? Everyone I know leaves me too?" I cried. "Don't say that. Just let her be Justin. Give her some time. She'll come back." She said. I hugged her and thanked her. She got up to leave.

"Oh yeah. Clean your room or you won't see the light of day again." She threatened. I sighed and fell against the pillow. It's not fair. If she needed space, that's all she had to say, that I was smothering her. I don't mean to. I didn't mean to. I just wanted to make sure she was okay. Just give her some space. Maybe that's all she needs right now. Like Mom said, she's under a lot of stress. Some space and time is probably what she needs right now. Okay. I got up and walked back to my room. From an outside perspective, I seen the damage I did. It took awhile but I cleaned up my room. I decided to put the smashed pictures of me and Angel in my closet. I walked to my bathroom, took a shower, and climbed in bed. I couldn't sleep, so I got up  and went downstairs to see Otis still up.

He looked at me but didn't say anything. "You okay Otis?" I asked. He shook his head. "We both going through things." He said, staring at the TV. I sighed. "Yeah we are. But you still got your mate." I said. "I still haven't told Tasha she's my mate." He said, still staring at the TV. "You gotta fell her or she'll find other guys to date." I said. "I know. I was gonna tell her today but she got into an accident and I don't wanna stress her out." He said. "Tell her when she's healed up and back at school." I said. "I am. Sorry about Angel." He said. The mention of her name made a lump in my throat. I swallowed it down. "Me too." I said, as I grabbed a pudding cup and headed back upstairs to my room. I ate it and laid down. As I dosed off, the smell of vanilla hit me. But I was too exhausted to look around.
