Chapter 33: School

Angel's POV:

After my fight with Justin, we talked things out. He told me all about his plan and how he was leaving to take Abby out. He said he wanted to make sure I was fine before he left. I decided to put him on punishment and make myself irresistible while he was here. I was gonna stop in two days but he became petty so this will continue til one of us gives in. I'm not giving in and he said he isn't either. He ate his food and came to bed. I made it hard for him. Jewel came home and I used her to get to him. I was in bra and panties and Jewel was on me so it was hard for him. Jewel fell asleep and I didn't have the energy to carry her to bed. Justin got a call from Abby. He argued with her for a bit before hanging up on her. She was still looking forward to seeing him come home. She also made him mad by telling him that Jewel wasn't his. He got pissed when she suggested he put her up for adoption when I'm dead.

He didn't play when it came to her. I was glad. We woke up to Jewel watching TV. I talked to Justin about putting her in school. He was hesitant at first, as he didn't want her being around humans and accidentally blowing our secret. I honestly think it's because he was going to miss her and didn't want her to leave so soon. I talked to my Mama and Dad about it and they agreed with me. Alicia and Patrick also agreed with me. Justin was still against it. "Justin she's not a baby anymore. She needs her education. Mike said. Justin glared at him. "Dude I'm just saying." Mike said, holding his hands up. "Justin, she needs to learn. She'll be safe." Alicia said. "Mom I know she'll be safe but I'm not sure. She seems so....energetic. What if she slips up?" He asked. "She won't." Keisha said. "How do you know?" He asked.

"Okay look. We're not getting anywhere arguing. Justin, she's going to school." I said. He looked at me. "Baby, she's not a baby anymore. She'll be fine. She'll be surrounded by people. What can she do?" I asked. "Uh, use her powers? She used them at McDonald's." He said. "She knows better now." Colin said. "Thank you Colin. Justin she's not learning any being home all the time." I said. He paced then floor then slowly turned towards me. "What if she misses us and makes the buildings shake?" He asked. "Oooh. He's got a pint. She does that a lot." Keisha said. "Who side you on?" I asked. "Justin, she'll have to go to school at some point in her life. She'll just have to deal with the fact you and Angel won't be around to baby her all the time." Dad said. "Exactly. School is what she needs. She'll be around other kids, she'll play with them. She's still a kid. Let her be a normal one." Mama said. Justin thought about it.

"Justin please. She won't be able to be a kid if she's around us. She's already learning new words from us. Speaking of which, Keisha, please watch what you say around her. She came in last night talking about some stuff that only me, you, and Kacey know." I said, making a face. "And what is that?" She asked, crossing her arms. "It involves something called 'rocks'." I said. Her eyes widened. "Okay I'll stop." She said. "Where is Jewelina?" Patrick asked. "She's with Kacey outside in the pool." I said. "Okay. Justin come on. Let her be a kid. Let her grow up." Mike said. Justin looked at him then at me. "How bout this? If she can go one week without showing off her powers, she can go to school." He said. "What?" I asked. "Let her be around some humans for a week. If she can go a week without using her powers in anyway and not whine for us, she can go to school." He said.

"Okay. Your on." I said, as I went outside to get Jewel. I saw her hugging Kacey. I ran up to them. "Kacey what's wrong?" I asked. She looked up at me. "I'm pregnant." She said. I was in shock. "Oh my God. Kacey Congratulations." I said. She smiled. "Thanks but I haven't told Mike yet." She said. "You gotta tell him. He'll be happy. I know he will." I said. She nodded and got up. She then threw up in a plant. "Tell him quickly." I said. She stuck her middle finger up at me. "Okay Jewel, how would you feel if you stayed at a friend's house for a week?" I asked. She stared at me. "That's fine. When we leaving?" She asked. "No baby. It's just you." I said. She widened her eyes. "Why?" She asked. "Me and Daddy have business to take care of." I said.

She shook her head. "Mmmm. No. I want y'all with me." She said. "Jewelina, you gotta get used to the idea that me and Daddy aren't gonna be around forever. Besides, we're looking to enroll you in Kindergarten." I said. "Mama, I don't y'all to leave me." She said. Her eyes welled up. "Jewel I'm sorry but this is for your own good. Plus, it's the law. You have to go to school."  I said. "It's a stupid law." She said. "Hey. Laws are what keeps us in order. Like the Magic law says we're not allowed to use our powers I front of humans. Which you only be able to do when you go to school." I said. "What if someone attacks me?" She asked. "What do you mean?" I asked. "Like what if Abby sends someone to attack me?" She asked. I tensed up. "That probably won't happen but if it does, get around humans. She can't do anything then. If that doesn't work, run and hide. Use your powers or become invisible. Just run and hide." I said.

"Mama, do I really have to go to school?" She asked. "Yes baby. That's why we're gonna send you to a friend's house to stay at while me and Daddy handle business." I said. I looked around. "Baby, I really want you to get an education. So can you not whine for me or Daddy or use your powers in anyway?" I asked. She nodded. "I'll try. But I will miss you and Daddy." She said. "Me too baby. But please don't whine or use your powers. No matter what Daddy says, don't use your powers or whine, okay?" I asked. She nodded. "Okay Mama." She said. We walked back inside the house. I noticed Kacey and Mike were gone. "Where's Kacey?" I asked. "She had to talk to Mike." Tasha said. She was laid up with Otis. I'm surprised Dad hasn't said anything. I looked and saw he wasn't here. "Uh Uh. I know damn well..." He said. There he is. I grabbed Jewel and took her upstairs to pack up.

Justin followed us. I felt his presence behind me but I didn't acknowledge it. As Jewel packed, I looked at him. He had pain and sadness all over his face. The I suddenly felt pain and sadness. Damn you emotional connection. I pulled Justin into another room. "Baby, I know you're upset but-" he cut me off. "Angel I don't want her to leave. I'm gonna miss you like crazy when I leave and now I'm gonna have to miss her. I'm not ready for her to leave." He said. "Baby, I know. I wanted you there for when she first kicked, for she was born, for when she walked and talked but that's all behind us. She has to grow up." I said. He shook his head. He put his back against the wall and slid down it. "I'm not ready Angel. I love her so much." He said. I crouched down. "I know it's hard baby. I'm upset too but she has to go." I said.

"Mama, I'm done." Jewel called. "I'm coming." I said. I kissed Justin. "She'll be fine baby." I said. I stood up but he grabbed my arm. He sighed. "She doesn't have to stay at a friend's. She can go to school. But can we have someone watch over her at least, you know, like bodyguards to watch over her during the day, to make sure she gets to school and home safely?" He asked. That's a great idea. "Yeah. Yeah we can do that. We could ask Annie and Bishop for some bodyguards for Jewel." I said. He smiled and kissed me. "Jewelina?" He called. "In here Daddy." Jewelina said. She was on her tablet. "You don't have to go a friend's house but you will have to go to school." He said. Her face dropped. She hugged him. "Daddy, I'm gonna miss you and Mama." She said. "I know princess but you'll meet lots of friends." He said. "But what am I gonna do about my powers?" She asked.

"Try to control them and your emotions. If someone makes you mad, just walk away. No transforming, no powers, no nothing." He said. She began to cry. He picked her up. "Baby, I know it's hard but your growing up." I said. She nodded. "I know. But I'm not ready to go." She said. "We know babygirl." Justin said. Jewel cried but calmed down. I unpacked her stuff while Justin took her downstairs. I followed them. "Kacey, you okay?" Justin asked. She nodded and looked at me. Mike walked in and grabbed Justin's arm. He pulled him away while me and Keisha ran up to Kacey. "How'd he take it?" Keisha asked. "Well he's thrilled." She said. "You don't sound like it." I said. "I'm just tired. I've been throwing up all night long. And I'm not sure I'm ready to be a mother." She said.

I hugged her. "Kacey your ready love. I had a dream about being pregnant back when I was pregnant. You were glowing and so happy." I said. She smiled at me. "Yeah girl. You got this." Keisha said. Kacey chuckled. "Maybe it's just me. I may not have a Uni-Hybrid in me, but it's a hybrid." She said. I smiled at her. We led her upstairs to my room. We chatted for awhile til they both fell asleep. I got up and headed downstairs. Justin saw me. He approached me. "Hey, you know Kacey's pregnant?" He asked. I nodded. "She's upstairs sleep with Keisha right now." I said. "He seems...erratic about this." He said. "Well it is huge news. She said she wasn't sure how he'd react." I said. "Why? He's been in love with her since he met her." He said. "Kacey thinks it's just her. She's has slept all night because morning sickness." I said. "He's thrilled about it. Kacey seems like she's depressed." He said. I looked away.

"What?" He asked. "I feel like that's my fault." I said. "Why would it be your fault?" He asked. "Because." I paused and pulled him upstairs to a room. "Kacey is already doing too much. She's under too much stress already. She's keeping eyes on Abby, she's keeping eyes on Grey, and me, and Jewelina. And now she's pregnant? She's stressed out." I said. "I'll tell her to take it easy. We can look after ourselves. Your a psychic. You can look at everything." He said. "I know but Abby is a sneaky bitch. She could be on her way here now and I wouldn't know. I haven't been using my psychic powers a lot." I said. "Maybe it's time you use them. I gotta go call Bishop." He said, as he got up and left. I tried to think of ways I could see everything at once. I closed my eyes and practiced. "What are you doing?" Said a voice. I opened my eyes to see Kacey. "You should be relaxing." I said.

She scoffed. "I'm only two months." She said. "Exactly. Your still early. Which means you need rest." I said. "Angel-" I cut her off. "No Kacey. You do too much already. You need to relax. Go take it easy. But first, teach me how to look at multiple things at once like a true psychic." I said. She sat down next to me. "Okay. Visualize who wanna keep an eye on. It'll take to an empty space. There'll be fog but don't worry about it. Look up in front of you. There'll be this like big TV. It'll give you a view of who your looking at." She said. I closed my eyes and actually seen Abby. Then I moved to Tyler. Then Grey. They were all sitting down. They looked like they were planning something but what? I opened my eyes to see Kacey gone. I got up and looked for her. I went outside to find her.

She wasn't there. I walked back inside and around the house. I found her scent and followed it to a home theater. Cool. I saw her sitting a few rows down. I sat next to her. "Kacey are you sure your happy your pregnant? Your not acting like it." I said. "Oh my God Angel. Yes I'm sure. God give it a rest." She said, angrily. I didn't get mad cause I know it's her hormones. Then she broke down. "I'm sorry Angel. I'm actually so scared. I don't know if I'm ready." She said. I hugged her. "It's gonna be okay love. You got this." I said. "What if I fuck up?" She asked. "You won't. Kacey I know you'll be a great mother. And Mike will be a great father. He'll be there for you. No matter what." I said. "Damn right." Said a voice. I turned to see Mike and Justin standing in the doorway. "Kacey, I'm gonna be there for you, I promise baby." He said, as he walked up to her.

"I'm so scared." She cried as she hugged him. "Don't be. I'll be there for you and our little one." He said, as he kissed. "Angel?" Justin called. I looked at him. He motioned me over. I got up and walked to him. "What's up?" I asked. "I talked to Annie and Bishop." He said. "Okay and?" I asked, nervously. "They'll give us bodyguards." He said. I noticed his tone was sad. "Justin what's wrong?" I asked. "Annie said, before they left, she seen Abby and Grey at the airport. She thinks their coming down here. Meaning I have to leave tomorrow in case she comes down here." He said. My heart broke. He wiped a tear from me face. "Please don't go." I said. He kissed me. "Angel, I have to. For us. And Jewel. I want y'all safe." He said. I shook my head and walked off. I ran to my bedroom and cried. He followed me. He grabbed me and held me as I stained his shirt.

He rocked us til I calmed down. "I'm sorry Angel. But I have to go." He said. "What about Jewelina?" I asked. He didn't respond. I looked up to see him crying. "Angel I don't want to go and leave y'all but I have to. Abby is smart. She can do anything and by the time we notice it, she'll already be a step ahead of us." He said. I looked down. "Jewel will be crushed." I said. "I know. And I don't think I can bring myself to say bye to her. If I do, I won't leave. I want Abby gone for good." He said. "Justin, why does she hate me? Why does she want you? She's cheated on you so many times and yet she hung up on you." I said. "I don't know baby." He said. He began to play in my hair. I didn't want my baby to leave. I wanted him to stay. "Angel please stop crying." He said. "I can't help it." I said. I cried my eyes out. "Justin why can't we just love our lives far away from her? We can go to different countries or something." I said.

"I wish it was that simple." He said. He brought my face up to his and kissed me. I pulled away. "I'm sorry Justin. I'm just too upset." I said. I took a deep breath. "If you have to leave, leave when I least expect it. Cause I'm gonna be inclined to make you stay." I said. He didn't say anything. I got up and walked to the bathroom and closed the door. I couldn't look at him. My love for him was too strong. I started to clean up but his scent was still around. It was hard to clean when I'm crying. Afterwards I went back to my room to find him gone. I looked around and saw Jewelina in her bed sleep. Everyone was gone home. I walked to the pool outside. I jumped in and swam around a bit before I went back inside to my room. I watched SpongeBob for a bit before Justin came back. I cuddled with him til I fell asleep. I moved in my sleep and felt nothing. I woke up and saw he was gone.

I got up and saw his suitcases and clothes were all gone. I climbed back in bed and cried myself to sleep. I woke up again to find Jewel in my bed. She had been crying. "Hey baby. What's wrong?" I asked, holding her. "Daddy's gone. He left a note. He said he was leaving. I don't want him to leave." She said, as she broke down. I held her. I pulled her under he covers with me. "I know baby. Me either." I said. "Why'd he leave?" She asked. "He has business to take care of love. He'll be back." I said. I hope he'll be back.
