As a soldier, it is my first time I am at the murder location body. The man's death was fairly pedestrian, except for the fact the body was lying down. There was no much blood spilled out, unlike the bodies I'd see regularly.
I was green, young, and hopelessly terrified when I have seen a dead body for the first time. Unlike now.
But it got much better.
Death is part of my job, but it left me unnerved.
The person who is dead is unaware of his death even before a minute it happened. Most of the time, they never saw it coming.
Here is a murder scene that left me saying, "No way! Did that really happen?"
I don't make assumptions but it happens automatically. Every now and then, I remind myself of that.
Every now and then, the universe does the reminding for me. Nowadays whenever I meet new people, they're usually dead.
A young male lies on his back in the woods. According to the scene, I am looking at an unfamiliar person.
