Sword of the Emperor

Fog Covered Terrain

3rd Person POV

The two stared into each other's eyes. One's filled with determination, dedication, loyalty and need to protect. The other's appeared to be weary and weak, struggling to stay open as it seemed their life was leaving them.

"Wh-Wha...h-how in the...?" (Y/N) asked weakly and in understandable confusion. How was this woman, who he had met in a dream, be standing before his very eyes. Perhaps it was all in his head. Perhaps it was real. These things we unknown to him. The only thing he did know, was that his heart had stopped once again, and is was killing him to even stay conscious.

The knight knelt down to her new master and smiled reassuringly. "Master, please rest and save your strength. As your servant and knight, I shall protect you and see that you and your friends are safe from harm." She declared.

(Y/N)'s eyes finally gave in and slowly closed, his unconscious body began to fall forward, but was thankfully caught by the woman in blue.

A loud roar suddenly echoed from far off in the distance through the thick blue fog. Something seemed to rocket out of the fog and proceeded to fall towards the two. It was the berserk warrior, hurdling downwards toward them, preparing to swing it's massive stone-made bastard sword.

Artoria looked back at the beast, then quickly grabbed her Master and vanished, resulting in the beast slashing down at nothing, causing  smoke to erupt where the two would have been if they remained.

Farther away from the beast, the rest of the ORC slowly rose up off the ground and looked onward at the cloud of smoke that had just erupted.

"W-What happened?" Kiba asked.

"I don't..." Rias said before looking at the cloud of smoke where she believed her servant still was. "Oh no, (Y/N)!" She cried out in horror.

"It's alright, Master is safe Lady Gremory." Artoria said from the middle of the struggling ORC.

"(Y/N)!" They all cried as they huddled around him. Both Asia and Rias hugged him tightly, practically crying their eyes out.

"Oh (Y/N), please be okay!" Asia pleaded as she hugged the unconscious devil tightly.

"(Y/N) please, please open your eyes!" Rias begged.

Artoria knelt down to the devils holding her Master. "Please, if any of you are healers, I ask that you heal my Master." She requested as she placed her hand on (Y/N)'s chest. "I shall lend him some of my own magical energy to help with the healing process." Her hand began to glow a bright golden aura which soon covered her entire body, which soon covered (Y/N), who began breathing one again.

The blonde knight in the blue battle dress rose up from the ground and turned to face the beast.

"Who are you?" Rias asked. "Where did you even come from?"

"For now, just focus on healing my Master, Lady Gremory. After this matter is settled and the beast is defeated, I shall answer any questions you may have. But for now..." Artoria gripped her invisible sword and readied herself. "My duty is to serve and protect my master, and protect him I shall." She said before running towards the beast.

Rias was skeptical about the mysterious individual who just appeared out of nowhere, but she decided she had to listen to her to keep (Y/N) alive. "Asia, go and heal (Y/N)." Rias commands Asia.

"O-Okay!" Asia said, immediately running to (Y/N)'s side and began to heal him.

Artoria ran a considerable distance before finally coming face to face with the beast. "So, from what I've seen you wish to harm my Master. Unfortunately for you, my master is not here with me. But that is fortunate for me, because now I can focus entirely on fighting you. But first, allow me tell you my name as a sign of respect." Artoria said, piercing her invisible wind covered sword into the ground. "My name is Artoria Pendragon and I swear by my blade and honor as a knight, I will kill you!" She declared and then charges into battle.

The beast raised its sword about to slice her in half but was too slow as Artoria slashed him across the chest very deeply causing blood to erupt.

The beast flinched in pain and staggered back, but then finally swung down its massive stone sword.

Artoria instantly and effortlessly jumped up and successfully dodged, giving her the chance to kick the beast's head and sent him flying back a great distance before crashing into the floor.

The beast backflipped back up right and unleashed a vicious roar. It'd be almost impossible not to sense the rage practically being emitted from its body.

"Impressive, you're as strong as you look." Artoria praised the creature.

The beast jumped straight into the air about to swing his sword when he fell to the ground, but Artoria simply watched it and easily countered it with her blade, rendering his attempt to attack useless.

"It's pointless. You cannot beat me. Unlike you, my purpose in winning this fight is to protect my Master." Artoria declared.

While Artoria continued to battle with the giant stone sword weirder, the ORC continued to watch and protect their fallen comrade from anything that may come their way. And while Artoria's magical energy had boosted (Y/N)'s healing process, it was still proving to be lengthy procedure.

"How much longer until he's fully healed, Asia?" Rias asked.

"Not sure...I'm...I'm starting to run low on...magical energy." Asia said sounding weary.

"Akeno, step in." Rias ordered. "Take a long rest, Asia. You deserve it for working so hard." Rias assures.

"I-I'm sorry." Asia apologized before passing out, thankfully being caught by Koneko.

"Hang in there (Y/N), you're gonna be just fine." Akeno comforted as a warm green light emanated from her hands and onto the barely breathing devil.

"How much longer do you think that girl back there is going to last against that...thing. Does she even have a shot at winning?" Kiba asked.

"Not sure Kiba. But whoever she is, she's holding her own fairly well. She's almost as fast as you Kiba. Maybe even faster." Rias claimed, looking onward at the battle between the blonde female knight and the hulking sword swinging monster.

As the hulking mad warrior swung its massive bastard sword, Artoria simply side-stepped and back stepped out of the way of each mighty and deadly swing.

"It's no use. No matter how many times you try, the result will always be the same. Normally, I would suggest you would surrender now, but judging by your personality and intelligence, I see its quite pointless." Artoria deduced.

The beast ignored Artoria's words and slashed down with all its strength, only to miss as she jumped high up into the sky. She spun down and dove down back to the ground, sword pointed at the beast, only to collide with the ground, causing the fog to erupt and flow over to the ORC, engulfing them as it blew past them in a fierce gust of wind.

The fog began to settle and everyone continued to shield themselves from and excess debris and wind.

"Everyone okay?" Rias asked worriedly, looking back at her servants.

"We're fine. How's (Y/N)?" Kiba asks.

"He's alri-" Akeno began to respond, but suddenly stopped as she looked down in shock.

"Akeno? What's wrong?" Kiba asked.

"He's not here!" Akeno says starting to panic.

"WHAT?!" Everyone responded in unison, as well as in a panic.

"Where did he..." Rias asked before realizing something that terrified her. "Oh no. (Y/N)!!!" She cried as she looked back at the massive cloud of erupted fog.

The sword wielding monster continued to look around frantically for the woman in blue who continued to easily hold her own against him, only to slash at the fog blindly.

As the beast continued to attack at seemingly nothing, a figure suddenly appeared from behind it.

"Where you aimin' Dewgong?" He said, prompting the beast to turn in shock and see (Y/N) standing right behind him. Only to deliver a powerful punch with his Azure Dragon Emperor gauntlet equipped, sending the hulking mad warrior rocketing out of the fog cloud and into the sky. (Y/N) sprouted his devil wings and shot up, joining the beast in the sky, looking down with a cocky smile and his arms crossed against his chest. "What's the matter?" He asked. "By the look on your ugly mug, you look like you've seen a ghost. Did you think I was dead? Well let me assure that I'm quite alive. In fact to show you, by beating the living shit out of you!!!" (Y/N) yells and ax kicks the beast back down into the ground. Appearing to cause some major damage, as the beast had not emerged back up quite yet. The young devil flew back down slowly with his newly acquired jet black wings and gently land and spit blood on to the ground. "Fuckin' asshole!" He grunted before holding onto his chest, as it had started bleeding once again since his wound still hadn't healed fully.

"(Y/N)! You're alright!" Rias said, full of relief and happiness in her voice.

"Y-Yeah...More or less." He replied weakly.

"Great, now lay back down so I can finish healing you. The more you move, the worse that wound is going to get." Akeno commanded.

"I'm..." He struggled moving forward as he summoned Oath Maker into his left hand. "I'm fine. Fine enough to finish this thing once and for all." He declared.

"Don't be ridiculous! You're in no shape to continue fighting that monster! You'll end up getting yourself killed!" Rias says angered at her servants ignorance.

Out of nowhere, Artoria appeared by (Y/N)'s side. Supporting her new master as he began to fall. "I've got you, Master." Artoria said in a gentle tone.

"T-Thanks." He replied.

"Can you stand?" She asked.

"Y-Yeah." He said, before propping himself back up and standing on his own two feet. "I can manage until this crazy bastard is finally dealt with. Can I ask for your support Artoria?"

"Of course. Until the end of time, my sword is yours." She replied confidently.

(Y/N) smiled weakly at Artoria through the pain in his body. "Thanks." He said. "The rest of you, get to the exit. And make sure Issei is healed the second you get out. Artoria and I will join you shortly." The young devil ordered, receiving shocked and defiant looks from all of his friends.

"Absolutely not. As your Master I cannot allow you to go into a battle in a condition such as yours. I cannot allow you to do this. As a matter of fact, I forbid you from taking any further part in this battle." Rias states sounding furious with the ludicrous request that the young devil had made.

"Rias, I'm not asking. Go. Now." (Y/N) ordered once more.

"(Y/N) please, listen to Rias. You're in no condition to fight. Let us handle this from here on out." Akeno begged, her magenta colored eyes pleadingly looking for her junior devil to make the seemingly right decision.

"I can't. I won't put any of you in anymore danger." (Y/N) replied.

"Come on man, now's not the time to be stubborn. Just hang back and let Akeno finish healing you." Kiba begged.

"If I can breathe, I can stand. If I can stand, then I can fight!" (Y/N) proclaimed. "Now go. I won't ask again." He said in a rather threatening tone.

"(Y/N), don't be stupid. Let Akeno finish healing you, we'll take care of this." Koneko said.

(Y/N) releases a loud and agitated sigh. He rubbed the bridge of his nose and rubbed his eyes. His armored hand heavily dropped back down to his side. "Alright then, you guys leave me no choice. Kohaku...do what you have to to get them to the exit." (Y/N) ordered his White God Beast, who jumps in front of the ORC members.

"Everyone..." She said, prompting everyone to look down at her. "Please, look into my eyes." She commands. Suddenly, her grey tiger eyes turned into a hue of light green and released multiple ripple waves of hypnotic magic causing everyone to slowly fall into a deep sleep.

"I'm sorry, you all got caught up in this because of my ignorance. Getting you all out of here is the least I can do. Kohaku, get everyone out of here. And we'll catch up with you later!" The young devil commands whilst preparing his Oath Maker for battle.

"Yes Master." Kohaku said before putting the unconscious ORC on her back. "My only request is that you don't die!" Kohaku roared before leaving with the knocked out ORC.

At that exact moment the beast regained consciousness and stood up to release an ear-piercing roar! It was clear that the anger it had before was minuscule compared to the anger it had felt now.

"I will make it back alive." (Y/N) said to himself.

"Are you ready, my Master?" Artoria asked.

"Yeah, now let's be quick about this. The sooner we kill this thing, the sooner I can join up with my friends again." The young devil explained.

The blue and silver clad knight smiled sincerely at her master's dedication. "Very well, I shall see that we make this bout our final, and it shall be quick." Artoria proclaims, readying her sword.

The beast unleashed a mighty, blood curdling roar. The moment it opened its mouth, a small ball of malicious magical energy began to form. The blood red ball of magic was suddenly launched towards the two. The ball continued to grow and grow in size until it reached the size of a massive meteorite.

(Y/N) simply raised his Blazblue: Limit Breaker and summoned a magical barrier, looking similar to the Gremory family magic circle, the only difference being the family crest was replaced with a dragon head and the entire circle was azure blue. The blast was suddenly stopped by the barrier and sparks began to radiate from the clash of different magical energies.

DRAIN!

The azure colored gauntlet's red gem shined brightly, showing it's magical properties activating. The blood red blast began to shrink tremendously in size with each passing second until finally, it faded into nothingness. "There we go." (Y/N) whispered. He held out his right armored hand and a small azure colored ball of magic appeared in the palm of (Y/N)'s hand. "This is for hurting my friends. DRAGON SHOT!!!" (Y/N) cried as he punched the small azure blue ball, launching it toward the hulking mad beast at supersonic speed.

The Dragon Shot collided into the beast and a massive dome shaped explosion erupted. As the blast grew more and more, so did the blinding light of the blast. "Did that get the bastard?" (Y/N) asked himself as both he and Artoria try desperately to shield their eyes from the blinding light.

As the blast's light and dome shaped explosion began to fade and die down, the entirety of the thick blue fog covered plane became visible once more.

The beast, unfortunately, was still alive and kicking. Or so it seemed, as more and more smoke began to blow away by the wind, the beast was revealed to have a missing right arm and leg. It fell to the ground and struggled to stand back up.

"Such a pitiful creature you have become. Lacking intelligence wasn't enough but now you have lost your right arm and leg." Artoria claimed walking to the beast.

"Tell me about it." (Y/N) agreed. "But whatever. This fight was short lived, but I'll take it." He said as he looked on towards the beast.

Suddenly, a burning steam began to emit off of the crippled beast. (Y/N) tried to gain a closer look at the steam and beast, only to be terrified by what he had saw, the monster was slowly regenerating and regrowing it's limbs."OH HELL NO! I'M NOT GIVING YOU THE CHANCE!!!" The young devil roared as his dragonic aura radiated off his body. "ARTORIA, WE'RE FINISHING THIS!!! NOW!!!"

"As you command!" Artoria complied.

The two launched towards the slowly generating monster, a sonic boom echoing from behind the two and the ground broke underneath their feet.

The wild haired berserk warrior looked at the two, only to roar viciously. It slammed its hands into the ground and ripped out a chunk of the plane, only to throw it toward the two in attempt to stop them from getting closer. More and more boulders were thrown at the devil-dragon hybrid and the blue, gold and silver knight.

"Artoria! Take my hand!" (Y/N) ordered.

"Right!" Artoria accepted, grasping (Y/N)'s hand tightly, only to be thrown high up into the sky.

(Y/N) slams his foot into the ground, sprouted his devil wings and launched himself into the sky. The two cross each other and prepare to deliver the final blow. (Y/N) attempts to summon Oblivion for a double sword slash, but his magic began to run out as his Oath Maker started to vanish. 'Shit! Come on! NOT YET!' (Y/N)'s cry echoed within the confines of his heart and mind.

"Geez, you just can't listen to me." A voice said.

As (Y/N) turned to where the voice came from, he looked in shock to see that it was his Master, Rias.

"I told you to let us heal you a bit longer, but you just have to go and play the hero, don't you?~" Akeno teased.

As the two appeared to fly down with the young devil, they extended their hands, soon radiating in a warm green glow.

(Y/N) immediately felt a surge of magical energy flowing through his whole body. He unleashed a mighty and powerful roar. His eyes turned crimson red and his aura turned a thunderous yellow. His devil wings grew slightly in size, prompting him to rocket down towards the nearly perfectly healed beast. "ARTORIA!!! FINAL BLOW!!! LET'S GO!!!" The devil cried, summoning his Oblivion and unleashing his newly attained magical energy into them, bringing them to his side and preparing to unleash a double slash.

"YES MASTER!!!"

The beast is about to move it's arm to try and block the attack but at the last second, it is immediately bound all over his body by lightning.

"I don't think so, you're not going to get up after this one!" Akeno said concentrating with all her might to hold the bindings together.

"(Y/N)!! Akeno can't hold this thing for long, hurry and end it!!" Rias yelled at the top of her lungs.

Both (Y/N) and Artoria roared loudly as they flew down at tremendous speed, blades drawn to their sides preparing to deal the final blow. The beast roars back, one final time. Suddenly, the blades of the two slash across the beast's head, silencing it once and for all. As the two sword wielders stood in their landed position for a brief moment, the head of the monster slowly began to slide down off of its neck and onto the ground.

The two slowly relaxed and proceeded to take breaths, in and out as the battle had finally ended. They slowly turned around and watched as the remains of the hulking beast slumped over, eventually collapsing onto the ground.

"Is...Is it finally over?" Asked the weary and power drained devil.

"I do believe so." Artoria replied.

(Y/N)'s legs eventually started to cave and give in to the weight of his heavy body, completely drained of any kind of energy. He began to fall towards the ground once more, but was caught by Artoria once more. "T-Thanks..." He rasped in gratitude.

"Of course." She replied.

As the two began to walk away from the battlefield, their backs began to grow warm. They both looked back and saw that the body began to glow a bright, warm golden glow. The body began to slowly dissipate into small flakes of light. Little by little, the flakes of light rose up into the sky, breaking apart the solid body of the fallen mad warrior. The body eventually, disappears completely and the light fades away.

"Finally...This shit...Is finally...Over..." (Y/N) said weakly in relief, right before the rest of his strength fades away, causing him to pass out once again.
