Part 47: Decision X And X Reunion

NARRATION

On the other side of the room, they couldn't help but to stand and stare at each other. Grenno's eyebrows already touched each other, and the dragonfly didn't move a single step from his position. The only thing they can hear is the noisy battle between the girl and the wolfman.

They knew each other's strengths, and they knew they must be prepared for each other's attacks. Grenno has been a Beast Hunter for almost ten years, but he never felt any danger than the enemy in front of him before.

He doesn't know the reason behind his fear. Maybe because he doesn't have any idea what his opponent is, must fear the unknown, as they said, or it's because he focused on his research more than to train his brawn and Nen techniques.

"So you can use Nen too, huh?" Grenno asked, but at the same, didn't. His eyes is still serious, even though his words are that of a lazy man.

"Ha! We've captured many special humans like you, so we, too, have acquired your powers." The dragonfly answered in his mocking voice. "Defeating you might be difficult, but I'm strong enough to do that."

"Quit being cocky and fight, mosquito," Grenno said, even though admitted in his thoughts that he's the one who started the conversation. If his opponent will argue to this small matter, then he can defeat him easily.

The dragonfly flinched in his position, hurt and annoyed by what his enemy said to him. But he didn't react to that comment, as that will leave him into defeat.

He made the first move and ran towards Grenno with a speed that as fast as lightning. His smile is as wide as his wings, full of confidence that he might win the battle. He prepared his hand formed into a fist and raised it towards the former's face.

But he effortlessly leaned his body to the left, ended up dodging the dragonfly's attack. His eyes widened and his smile disappeared, shocked at how his opponent avoided his attack so fast. He's one of the fastest of all the soldiers. How can the man dodge that punch?

Impossible.

He pulled out his second fist from his other arm and reached for the human's face again. Everything happened in slow motion, and his smile came back to life. This time, the punch successfully landed, resulting in Grenno being thrown on the other side of the wall, passing through Secco and the wolfman fighting.

His body created a crack on the wall he landed on, which showed how painful it is to receive that powerful blow. He stood up with the injured body and walked away from the wall, despite the pain felt from different parts.

But the dragonfly didn't give him a chance to recover, and just dashed towards him. His smile is wider than before and more mischievous.

Again, he formed his hands into fists and started punching Grenno's face from both sides. Now, the latter became a tennis ball that was being thrown by two rackets in every side. This goes on for a long time, with multiple repeated punches.

"How about that, huh?!" The dragonfly said with full of confidence, expecting he was gonna win the battle and bringing his head towards their Queen.

Grenno couldn't be able to stop a thousand punches and the pain he felt was repeatedly going towards his head. He couldn't be able to think properly since his brain kept bouncing side by side. He couldn't escape right now.

But after a couple of minutes of being punched right in the face multiple times, he finally raised one of his hands and grabbed one of the dragonfly's fists.

The latter widened his eyes once more and a hint of irritation can be seen in those. He was frustrated and shocked at the same time. He didn't expect that Grenno could be able to stop one of his punches. But... how?

His heart started to beat faster out of anxiety and didn't have a choice but to sprinted back, stopping his punching frenzy for a while. It hurts him to run like a coward in front of their food, but he felt something different about his opponent right now.

His smile already changed into a serious frown, and his eyes were just shooting glares at the human, trying to study his actions.

"Are you done?" Grenno asked, carefully standing from multiple injuries in his face. He turned his around and spitted his blood out of his mouth, making him talk more clearly to his enemy. "Now it's my turn."

After saying those words, his face became more serious than before and started to release some Aura around his body. The dragonfly felt this, and couldn't be able to react. He doesn't have a choice but to get into a defensive stance.

Out of nowhere, Grenno released something that no one expected to see. The dragonfly's eyes widened out of disbelief and confusion. His hands are trembling in fear and despair filled his mind.

The ginger fur that wrapped all around its gigantic body, the sharp claws attached to its big paws, and the multiple knife teeth in his huge mouth. Among all the people in the world, anyone would know about the creature in front.

In the middle of the room, looking down at all the battles both of the parties executed, is a lion, standing like a proud king in the sight of the dragonfly.

H-How can he do that?! I-Impossible...

The lion moved his head to see the opponent of his master, the dragonfly and gave him an intense glare. The latter winced at his position and accidentally fell off on the ground from standing.

"This is my friend, a Nen Beast, Vasil. I can summon him how many times I want. Ordinary people couldn't be able to see him, but Nen users like you are the exceptions." Grenno introduced his pet to the dragonfly, which is stunned in front of the gigantic monster right now, couldn't be able to hear the words that he said.

"I want you to know that you're doomed right now, so I'll explain my ability to you." Grenno started, with his arms crossed on his chest, still feeling the pain popping in every part of his body. But he didn't seem to care.

"My Nen technique, 'King's Revenge', can give Vasil the ability to bounce back my opponent's damage to them. The more damage I received from my opponent, the more damage he will receive from Vasil's attack." He explained with a wide smirk on his face. This is the first time Grenno smiled for a while. The dragonfly's eyes widened more, scared of the fact that he was defeated and at the same time, scared to the devilish smile he gave. "So you freaking lose, you mosquito."

"You bastard!" The dragonfly shouted as he tried to crawl away from the lion in front of him. His breath is not the same as before, and tears started to fall from his eyes. His face was full of fear, and despair.

Vasil didn't move in his position for a while, since that's the order from Grenno. They just watched the weak and coward dragonfly trying to escape from his death.

They aren't moving! Now's my chance!

But he didn't make it. After a minute of silence from Vasil, he finally decided to attack. The lion jumped in the air, opened his mouth, ready to eat the dragonfly in front of him.

"Ironic, isn't it? You became the meal of your meal." Grenno spoke the final words the dragonfly will hear before Vasil made it towards his food.

"Ahhh!!!" The dragonfly shouted in pain, as his body was being ground to the lion's sharp teeth, couldn't be able to escape from his death.

His scream lasted for about half a minute, and then, after that cry of torture and pain, was a long silence inside the room.

SECCO RASVIN

I watched as Grenno's Nen Beast, Vasil, disappeared out of thin air and the remaining Nen went back to his body. It looks like his pet finished his job.

He used that lion during my days of training, and I couldn't help but think that I'm glad I made it alive. I don't know if it had feelings or not since he always follows every Grenno's orders, didn't care if it will cause its life. I guess that's how Nen Beasts work.

I approached Grenno, now kneeling down on the floor, trying to stop the pain he was feeling in every part of his body. That's the risk of his technique, King's Revenge is. In order to gain full power, you must sacrifice something, like your life or a part of your body.

I was planning on doing that during my training, but Grenno insisted not to since it will be made me become a different person than before. I don't know why would he care for my condition, but no matter what he will say, I will still be planning on using a restriction to my Nen. I wanted it to be stronger than ever.

I grabbed a handful of bandages and wrapped it around Grenno's critical injuries around his body, especially his face. His cheeks were swollen and the skin below his eyes became purple.

Like I did before to my leg injury, I used my First Aid Kit technique to cure everything that was covered by my bandage.

After a long amount of time of healing Grenno's injury, it was finally finished. But unlike me, there are still bruises remained unrepaired in the process. Unlike other Nen users, Enhancers can heal their wounds and injuries and regain their stamina in a shorter time. The deep wound I got from the wolf was healed perfectly since I'm an Enhancer, but Grenno's injuries weren't completely healed. That means, my Nen technique still had a long way to go.

We both stood up from the floor, looking at the mess we made. Multiple cracks were present in the walls and on the floor, and it's a miracle that the whole building didn't collapse yet. Puddles of blue blood covered the floor coming from the dead bodies of the creatures we defeated.

"Who are they?" I asked Grenno. I didn't expect him to have an answer for me, but if there's a chance that he has one, then it's also fine.

"I think there are the rumored Chimera Ants," Grenno answered, so I listened carefully as I stared at the corpse of the wolfman. Compared to his work, mine was more clean and clear. "They said that monsters, some with human genes, are lurking in every part of NGL, and keep abducting humans, especially those with Nen users."

"I want to take these bodies to the lab, but since we have more important business here. I'll leave it here for now."

"Did they take the people here... including Pisacco?" I followed his answer with another question, desperate to know the events that happened here. The reason why I came to NGL in the first place was to find a Nen Exorcist that will remove my cursed arm. And I couldn't let that effort go to waste.

"Probably." He said. "Don't worry. I'll investigate the matter and search for him."

After hearing what he said, cold sweat dripped from my forehead. If anyone received that help from Grenno, they would be very glad, and I have to admit that to me too.

But ever since he started to train me, he had offered me help from any problems I faced. He trained me to become stronger, he treated me well as a student, he told everything he knew about my arm, and even lead me in finding a Nen Exorcist to remove my arm.

He helped me several times and I couldn't be able to return the favor. I don't want him to help me anymore. I want to do everything by myself. This is my problem, so I must face it on my own.

If I received help from Grenno, then my gratitude towards him will increase, and there might be a chance that he will use that to me someday. I don't want to fall into his trap. I have to do this mission all by myself.

"N-No," I said, which made him confused and raised one of his eyebrows. "I'll find him myself. I'll look for information and search for him."

"Are you an idiot?! You'll gonna—"

"I'm gonna do it!" I yelled at him by accident, which made us both shocked. I covered my mouth, couldn't believe that I shouted at my master. He didn't move or speak and just stared at my presence for a long time. I was still surprised by my sudden cry earlier, but I gulped and tried once more. "I-I want to do it... alone. Thank you for all your help but... I want to do it myself."

The room was filled with silence. No one dared to make a move after what I said. I was still embarrassed because of my actions and speech. But I want to voice out my own opinions and decisions. I just can't follow him or anyone around anymore.

"Fine." He answered, which made me feel relieved of his acceptance. "I'll leave you to a nearby town outside of NGL. This is a very dangerous place for you to stay."

"Okay." I said and we both left the abandoned laboratory.

It was a long journey towards the nearby town, but after hours of riding in our private vehicle which obviously came from Grenno, we finally made it.

"I'm gonna leave you here at the station." He said, opening the truck door for me to get out of his vehicle. I nodded, understanding his conditions. He went back to the driver's seat and was about to leave. "Good luck."

He drove away from my position as I watched him slowly fading in my sight. He trained me well for days, and I'm very grateful for that. But I think it's time I'll do everything on my own.

I tried to find a nearby hotel to rest for the day since Grenno lend me some money for me to take care of myself. I looked around the station, wondering what I'll be seeing around.

A train arrived at the station, which made the crowd around me increased. There are different faces that I've never seen before. There is even a scary-looking lady with curly black hair and wide dark eyes, keep staring at the train. She releases a dangerous Aura and I can felt it even from a far distance.

Looks like she was a Nen user, and a deadly one.

The crowd increased in the station which pushed my side by side by different people. Looks like staying inside was a bad idea.

As I was struggling to go to the open gates of the station, I accidentally bumped into someone. I was too focused on reaching the gate far away that I didn't have time to see who I bumped into.

"Look where you're going!" The guy, with a strangely familiar voice, shouted at me. I tried to turn around to see his face so I can apologize.

"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to—"

I stopped my sentence, as I completely saw the guy's face, and stared at it in shock. He did the same thing as me and just waited for a moment to absorb what was happening between us.

"Secco?!" He yelled at me, but I couldn't be able to hear it as I only focused on his face.

I couldn't see anyone around me except him. His messy silver hair and his cobalt blue eyes the same as mine. His outfit is a bit different from before, but it doesn't matter. I couldn't be wrong. I must not be wrong. It was him.

"K-Killua?!"
