Midnight Attack

"What to do…" Lying face-up on a bed Rei didn't know what to do. He had officially reached a dead end. The lady known as Shizune told him that Tsunade wasn't capable of being questioned at the moment and he knew he wasn't going to learn anything either way. After that, he had spent the remainder of his time in this hotel.

Thinking for another moment Rei sat up from the bed as the moonlight from outside came into the room from the windows. "Man I really don't want to think about this right now…" Yawning Rei planned on going back to sleep but just before he laid his head back onto the pillow he saw a shadow.

It was for the briefest second but something blocked the moonlight. Too big to be a cat or dog but too fast to be a cloud or a bird. Suddenly Rei heard it the sound of something flying through the air. His basic instincts caused him to duck as a kunai came flying through his window.

Attached to the kunai was a nearly invisible wire and with a slight tug-like vibration the kunai seemingly turned in mid-air stabbing itself into the wall next to the window. Rolling off the bed and grabbing Ryujin Jakka Rei began to look around. 'If I hadn't ducked that would have wrapped around my neck.'

Realizing what was happening a shadowy figure burst through the room's window. Landing on the floor a ninja dressed in a mix of grey and black immediately attacked Rei. Still prostrated on the floor the ninja kicked at Rei's head in which he swiftly dodged. Standing back up he spotted the ninja's headband shining in the moonlight.

"A sound ninja?" Rei's eyes widened as he thought of all the reasons a sound ninja would be here and only one came to mind as Rei's eyes seemed to focus. "I guess I'll be using you to find Orochimaru instead." Releasing his grip on Ryujin Jakka's hilt and charging the ninja barehanded.

Meanwhile, the sound ninja wasn't expecting Rei to have such a burst of speed. Fighting in that closed off room caused them to get into a hand duel. For the first six strikes, they seemed even enough however that quickly changed. Using his lower stature compared to his opponent Rei moved his body to the right dodging one of the sound ninja's punches before striking the back of his knee with his leg.

Following up he took a firm stance as he punched the sound ninja in the gut causing his eyes to bulge from the brute force. Gripping his stomach the ninja fell to the wooden floor while coughing intensely. "Bakudo #11: Horin."

Extending his hand towards the downed ninja, an orange and yellow snake-like rope made of energy wrapped itself around the ninja.

'Dad was right. Learning how to fight with the intention of incapacitation is useful.' Walking over to the sound ninja, Rei looked down on him as he began to talk. "Now why did you come after me." Reaching his hand towards the ninja to remove his mask Rei saw something suddenly fly towards him.

It was black and fast which in response Rei drew Ryujin Jakka and immediately cut it in half. With a puff like sound, the entire room was filled with smoke. 'A smoke bomb?' Covering his mouth with his hand he leaped out of the room through the window leaving a trail smoke following him. Landing on a nearby roof outside of the hotel Rei waved his hands as he looked up.

Appearing from seemingly thin air one by one sound ninja appeared surrounding him. Seeing them all Rei carefully observed and countered. 'Twenty in total and they're all wearing different clothing from the ones that attacked my village.' After confirming their numbers and who they were, Rei placed his hand on Ryujin Jakka as ever ninja there drew a kunai from at almost the same time.

"I just hope you all know that your buddy in my hotel room was an exception. If you attack me I won't hesitate to kill you." Warning them Rei looked around and saw that none of them reacted to it in which his gaze grew colder. "Well, I hope these hotel rooms have good soundproofing."

With that one sound, ninja instigated the fight charging towards Rei grabbed Ryujin Jakka by the sheath. Extending his arm at an incredibly fast pace, the tip of Ryujin Jakka's hilt slammed into the ninja's rib cage. "Onibi." The sound of fractionating sounded out for all to hear as blood began to build up in the ninja's mask.

Glancing at the ninja around him as the sound ninja fell to the ground Rei spoke to them. "Well, I warned you." And with that, the ninja began to move all at once.

Despite having order's to take Rei alive they didn't hold back. Sparks flew on top of that roof as Rei fought all nineteen of them at once. Parrying one ninja's lunge, Rei proceeded to kick that ninja in the stomach before swinging Ryujin Jakka in an arc slicing another one's head clean off.

In the heat of the fight, Rei ignored the blood staining his clothes and landing on his skin. Suddenly amid the battle, one of the sound ninjas retreated by jumping into the air. Focusing on the remaining ninja attacking him all at once Rei could only take a moment to glance at this ninja as he weaved a series of hand signs. "Wind Style: Wind Dragon Jutsu"

The air around the ninja began to morph and swirl becoming something more visible as chakra was imbued into it. Eventually, that wind turned into a massive serpent-like creature. As the Jutsu locked onto Rei it charged at him without a moment of hesitation letting a roar that vibrated the air around him.

All the ninja fighting Rei immediately jumped away leaving him the only person to face the wind dragon. Taking a deep breath Rei quickly channeled a large amount of Reiryoku from his body to his palm raising it to the wind dragon and the ninja behind it.

"Hado #1: Sho!" Originally using such a low ranked Bakudo in a situation like this would have been stupid.

However, as Rei learned from much trial and error the power of a spell is based on the amount of Reiryoku you put into it. And putting as much as he did into this Bakudo made up for its low ranking. A powerful force escaped from Rei's invisible eye to the naked eye however its force was very real.

As the wind dragon opened its mouth wide to attack Rei it suddenly froze. Appearing as a massive hole something shot straight through the wind dragon to the ninja behind it. The ninja had no time to dodge as that force hit him head-on, knocking him over thirty meters into the air. It was only after reaching such a height that the ninja fell hitting the ground with a loud thud out of Rei's view.

Breathing outward Rei's eyes gilded around him as if selecting targets. 'That was a little overkill but whatever.' And so dealing with the main threat Rei began finishing off the other sound ninja including the ones who tried to run.

All in all the person who would have to clean that roof would be in for a bloody surprise.
