The Akatsuki

A/N: I love Itachi Man (No Homo maybe...)

"The perimeter set around the target location is actually much further in than the one the public sees. All road and mountain paths have been blocked off and warnings are also posted within a 8km area. That tied in with the rumors circulating keeps locals and citizens away." The Anbu Black Ops Squad Leader spoke through their mask while looking at Ino.

As they moved through the trees, they were accompanied by a group of six other Anbu members. Ino had a thoughtful expression as she asked a question. "Isn't 8km a little big? Besides, some people who are ventures may push past that." The Squad Leader nodded. "Of course that's why the real perimeter is only 3km away from the bordering wall."

"We have scouts and ninja posted in different locations on day and night cycle. That including the sensory ninja nothing gets in or out without them knowing. Lady Fifth Hokage set up this security map herself. In any case that's where we are escorting you to. Any further than that would be too risky." Ino nodded. "I understand." Their set arrival was today, so the group began to speed up.

Further in the direction they were traveling, just at the rim of the perimeter, the Squad Leader mentioned two people were slowly making their way towards the Soul Society's wall. Dressed in black cloaks covered in red clouds, they wore straw hats covering their faces. "It took us forever to finally get here. I was getting bored."

Carrying a massive sword on his back covered in bandages, the man with shark-like skin and gills on his face glanced up. "So that's the barrier where the wall is located right?" The man next to his nodded slightly. "Yes that's what our intel told us." Of course, these two men were a part of the Akatsuki being Itachi Uchiha and Kisame Hoshigaki.

Kisame smiled as he glanced up at the trees around him. "Looks like we're being watched. Is it the same as the perimeter patrol group from last time?" Both Kisame and Itachi suddenly stopped walking. "It seems like they know we're hostile but they're not making a move." Itachi spoke lightly as his eyes slowly moved to a tree a couple of paces behind them.

"Kisame." Itachi's gaze was enough as Kisame let out a slight laugh. "Over there huh?" Quickly Kisame began weaving hand signs while turning around. The direction he was facing was directly where Itachi was looking. "They spotted us!" The sudden dispersion of four figures was followed by the voice of someone.

"Water Style: Shark Bomb Jutsu!" Appearing in front of him in a massive figure, a shark made purely of water flew through the air. "Crap it's aimed at me!" One of the leaf ninjas who came out of hiding had a look of fear and dread as he was still in the midst of escaping and was in the air with no method to dodge.

Putting up his guard was useless. The shark slammed right into his body as it bit down and tore into his body. His arms and torso were ripped to shreds as the impact killed him almost instantly. With a trail of blood, his limp body fell from the sky into the trees and out of sight. "Dam you!" Seeing their comrade killed without a chance to fight back, the remaining three ninjas screamed.

Kisame turned and looked at the three of them who were no further than twenty meters away and began weaving different sets of hand signs. "Heh." Kisame prepared to deal with them; however, Itachi stopped him with his hand before speaking. "Oh? All yours partner." Kisame didn't raise a fuss as he took a step back.

Holding out both of his hands, Itachi began to display his true efficiency with Hand Signs. Using two separate hands, he began weaving two separate Jutsu at once. "One handed?" The three-leaf ninja looked shocked as they finished their separate Jutsu. "Ignore it! It still cant stop all three of us at once!"

"Wind Style: Air Bullets!"

"Water Style: Water Pistol!"

"Earth Style: Mud Wolves!"

Using three separate natures of Jutsu, Itachi and Kisame were met by multiple medium-sized bullets made of air flying towards them accompanied by an even bigger water ball flying close behind. Running on the ground from the final Jutsu used wolves made of earth and mud ran at them from both sides.

"We got em!" Seeing how they got their Jutsu off first, the three ninjas showed a look of accomplishment; however, it was swiftly crushed thanks to Itachi. After finishing both single-handed signs, Itachi used one Jutsu first. "Wind Style: Air Current Dance." With a single wave of his hand, a gale of wind currents covered the entire area in front of them, stretching for dozens of meters.

"Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!" Finishing his second Jutsu in the same second, Itachi shot out a massive fireball from his mouth. Turning the entire landscape in front of him orange in its light. The wind-assisted the Fireball Jutsu as it immediately grew triple the size and became much more violent as it flew, ripping the ground apart.

"What the hell…" Seeing as the Fireball dwarfed all of their Jutsu in an instant, the three ninjas didn't even have a moment to avoid the attack. Ripping all of their Jutsu, the Fireball made contact with all three. And in a violent explosion of smoke and fire rose into the air while the entire ground shook. A massive shockwave of wind blew the nearby trees causing Kisame and Itachi cloaks to flutter.

"You're pretty ruthless, you know that especially against your own. Plus being able to weave two Jutsu almost simultaneously is just monstrous." Itachi ignored Kisame's words as he put his hands back inside his cloak. "Lets go." Turning away, he began to walk towards the barrier in the distance, with Kisame shrugging before following behind.

As time passed, it didn't take long for the Anbu Black ops group to realize something was wrong. "This isn't right." The Squad Leader stopped everyone as he held up his hand and spoke to himself. "What's wrong?" Ino looked around cautiously as the Squad Leader spoke. "There should be two patrolling squads in this area. One should have met up with us a while ago while the other is waiting for us at the perimeter under orders sent ahead of time."

But there was nothing. Not a single sound or movement since they began getting close. And even more so, considering how much importance the Fifth Hokage put on this security, there is no way they would slack and miss them. "What should we do?" One of the Anbu members asked their Leader as they scanned their surroundings.

"Hmm." Ino's gaze slowly began to move towards the sky above the treeline as they began to think. "Is that smoke…" She squinted as she spotted a very slight amount of smoke rising into the air just a little ways away. Despite her whispering, the other Anbu caught on and looked in the same direction.

The Squad Leader's eyes widened slightly as he spoke. "Somethings gone wrong." Turning around, he looked towards two of the fastest Anbu in their Squad. "You two go around and try to scout ahead before we arrive. Send out a flare accordingly. The rest of you keep your guard and move with me."

All of them nodded and responded. "Yes Sir." The two chosen Anbu split off from the group and rushed ahead as Ino looked towards the Squad Leader. "I can't get in contact with or sense any other Sensory Ninja nearby. We can't expect any support during this." The Squad Leader nodded as the main group began to move at a more steady pace.

Having made it to the wall surrounding the Soul Society, both Itachi and Kisame slowly raised their gaze. "I thought our intel was exaggerating on the size but turns out it was no joke. This thing is massive. That aside, apparently the material is special to the point Chakra has basically zero effect on it you can't even walk up the side."

While saying this, Itachi looked at the wall silently. "Our target would be inside." Kisame smiled as he took a step back. "Of course there is more than one way to get over a wall like this." Bending down, Kisame jumped into the air with one large leap. Then in mid-air, he began weaving hand signs. "Water Style: Water Shark Bomb Jutsu!"

It was the same Jutsu as before. However, this time around, the Shark covered Kisame's entire body. Flowing with the Shark, Kisame gained a massive boost in speed as the Jutsu began to fly into the air carrying him along with it. Watching from below, Itachi's eyes slowly began to rotate and turn crimson.

Three coma-like tomoes appeared in his eyes as he began to observe the situation in a new light. After a couple of seconds, Itachi's face changed as he warned. "Kisame came back down!" However, at this point, it was far too late. As Kisame and the Jutsu got closer to the wall while also scaling it, something happened on its surface.

A strange formation appeared exactly horizontal to Kisame's position. "Huh?" Without having a chance to say anything, that formation began to glow a bright blue as a burst of energy was released in his direction. Grabbing his sword from his back, Kisame tried to block the force. However, his Jutsu was forcefully dispelled almost instantly as he was sent flying away from the wall.

The next moment Itachi watched as he fell back into the ground below, causing a small tremor and a large cloud of dust to appear. Still looking at the wall with his eyes, Itachi had a strange expression on his face. "Ow…" Standing up, Kisame rubbed the back of his head. "It wasn't very strong but that repulsion force was no joke. Looks like they have a few counter measures against people like me."

Itachi disabled his Sharingan as he looked towards Kisame. "There are probably more to avoid any infiltrators from clearing the wall entirely as well. Getting in will be-" Before Itachi could finish speaking, the two of them heard the sound of something whistling through the air behind them. Turning their heads, they saw a Kunai had been thrown in the air with a colored smoke bomb attached to it.

Once it reached a certain height, the smoke bomb exploded into a cloud of red smoke. At the same time, two Anbu Black ops members, the same ones who had been sent ahead before, appeared behind Kisame and Itachi. Looking at how they were dressed, the two Anbu immediately drew their weapons.

"Black cloaks with red clouds… What the hell are Akatsuki members doing here." Sweat immediately began to drip down their faces as they took steps back. "Not sure but we have to stall for the main group. Letting them get away isn't acceptable." As the two Anbu spoke to one another, both Itachi and Kisame looked at them.

"Anbu huh? Where they always followed us or did they somehow get a lead on where we were?" Kisame didn't seem worried as Itachi answered him. "Unlikely they probably just came across us while on a separate mission. But based on that flare they are probably a part of a larger group." To this, Kisame showed his shark-like teeth.

"You sound worried. Well just kill them all and then find a way to get over this wall."
