Chapter 31: Sleepover

She was hesitant to talk at first. Fiddling with her hands and avoiding eye contact, she then takes a deep breath and says."Actually... can I ask for a favor?"

"What favor actually? It kind of depends.." Lawrence interrogated her, crossing his arms to display a disapproving gaze.

"Oh! Don't worry... it's nothing really bad... I just want to ask if it's okay for me to sleepover here for today?" She requested to us.

Although that got me thinking... why does she want to sleepover here but on the other hand! I'm excited! I wanted to have a sleepover! I've never had that with a fellow girl.

"Of course you can! I'm really happy that you're sleeping here! Let's all be besties!" I said to her excitedly grabbing both of her hands.

"Wait a minute. Where is she going to sleep then? We only have two beds here, you know and I doubt that sleeping on the couch is going to be the same as sleeping in a bed since our couch literally fits one person on it. Nobody can sleep there." Lawrence protested over the idea.

"Aww... but I wanted her to sleepover! How about she just sleeps on my bed then? I mean it should be fine for the two of us to share a bed." I suggested to Lawrence who was nodding his head back and forth.

"No. Do you even know how small our beds are? It only fits one person. It's not like those king size beds we have back then. So I doubt the two of you will be able to fit there and even if you did. It wouldn't be a comfortable time, that's for sure." He explains to me, deflecting my idea.

"Actually.. I have an idea." Meghan spoke up.

We turned our heads to her direction, waiting for her to speak her idea. She hides her mouth with her hands in a shy manner. "Um... This might be a bit extreme but... how about Lawrence switches rooms with me for a bit like just for tonight."

"And why is that exactly?" Lawrence's eyebrows raised.

"I mean like, I want to have a sleepover with my bestie but like.. I'm not exactly comfortable sleeping with a boy around me. You know like since you guys are siblings it might be fine but when someone else is here. I kind of feel uneasy." She requested to us.

Hm... Oh right! They usually have those sleepovers with all girls right! This is what we're doing right? I've read about something like this before. It's usually where we talk about our crushes and stuff right?!

"I think it's actually a good idea!" I muttered to Lawrence. His eyes widen for a second before reverting back to an apathetic expression.

"And how is me, going away from my own dorm room and going to someone else's dorm room. A good idea exactly?"

"Well, since we only have 2 beds right here. You can go sleepover at her bed so we can be together for a while more! Isn't that the perfect plan. Also, I've never really had a sleepover so please let me!" I begged Lawrence, giving him the puppy dog eyes.

"Fine! I'm going there once, I finish my shower here. Now would you excuse me... I'll go ahead and take my shower in my room." Lawrence grabs his towel and decides to go head to his room where there's a bathroom there.

I smiled at him as he went inside his room but turned to Meghan who was down and looking really pale.

"Hey? Are you alright? You've been really down as of now?" I can sense her breathing... it's irregular. It's as if she's afraid of something... or someone in that manner.

"Oh.. I'm just really anxious... actually... the reason I wanted to switch is that the lock on my door is kind of broken. I'll be able to fix it tomorrow but I can't really at the moment. So I decided to sleepover here. I'm sorry if this is an inconvenience for you.." She timidly speaks her mind.

"Of course it's fine! I'm always happy to have you here Meghan! You're honestly the first person I met that's my age except for my brother Lawrence." I tried to cheer her up, giving her a hug.

I can feel her heart pounding really fast. Is she really this anxious just for sleeping over? I think I might need to ease her mind a little to make her relax.. cause her heart rate is going to the roof...

"How about some tea to calm your nerves down? You seem to be getting fidgety and nervous..." I offered her some tea.

She smiled agreeing for some tea. "Of course. Thank you." She gave me a soft smile before sitting down on the dining room table.

We decided to make some tea for a bit since I wanted to calm Meghan down from something. I grabbed a kettle and heated some water. After that. I put a teabag in our cup and poured it in the water. The water starts to turn brown, releasing a relaxing fragrance. I then served it to Meghan who was more than eagerly waiting for it.

"Oh? Did you serve some tea? I didn't expect you to actually know how to do chores." Lawrence enters the room, with a smirk on his face. The smell must have attracted him here.

"Ya.. ya.. just because I grew sheltered doesn't mean I'm useless, big brother," I responded to him, passive-aggressively.

"Alright then. I'll just go on ahead to go upstairs. What's your room number again?" Lawrence asks Meghan who was sipping on her tea.

"Oh, it's room 20. That's where my room is!" She responded to him, completely calm, and collected now.

"Okay.. so remember that we have school tomorrow. So make sure not to sleep too late and be sure to not go do anything reckless and make sure to brush your te-"

I interrupted him from his lecturing.. since it's kind of getting embarrassing that he's treating me like I'm his child or something. Especially in front of Meghan.

"Just go already, big brother! Geez. I know what I'm doing! I'm already in high school! Goodbye! Have fun there! Don't go touching her stuff got it?"

"Okay. Also of course not. I never touch people's belongings without their permission so you can guarantee that I won't touch hers..." He said as he went out of the dorm room.

"Goodbye! See you tomorrow!" Meghan waved goodbye to Lawrence as he headed out to the darkness...

Time for the slumber party! I'm so excited!
