The two Junkers chatted for a good while longer, about the various ongoing in the village, and Jent showed off his Beskad, laughing at the greedy look Werrin expressed. "Haha, tell you what kid, if I end up biting the dust it's yours," Jent joked, and Werrin's greedy stare melted away instantly, "Shut up old man, are you trying to jinx yourself or something. Humph, you and grandpa may have locked me up to keep me safe, but what about you ey, your the only one among the elders who still goes out to the heaps...
You've more than earned yourself a retirement!" Werrin yelled, genuinely mad at and concerned for old Jent.
"Pfff, you're worried about me? hahaha," Jent laughed, in an attempt to break the tension, and Werrin walked up to him and kicked the old man in the leg. Jent's leg gave out, the flaws in his faulty cybernetics exposed. "I knew it, you old todger. You're out doing runs with sh*tty cybernetics like that!" Werrin shouted.
"Uoof, did you have to kick me to prove it," Jent snapped back.
Ian, rushed to Jents side, and seeing he was relatively fine, shot Werrin an angry look.
Werrin ignored him and continued to chastise Jent, "Has anyone in this village contributed as much as you, old fool, half of the resources in the depot are yours yet you won't even pick out some parts for yourself before you go out to the heaps. Idiot! And you dare chastise me, humpf, go fix up your leg, you have my permission... No order, to go upgrade all of your cybernetics with the full resources of the village."
"Alright, alright," shaking his head and holding his hand up, "I will go now," Jent said, heading for the door.
Werrin called out to him and Jent stopped.
"That's not all; until I say otherwise the off-worlder is in your care. As his finder, he's your responsibility, you are obligated to take care of him... at all times." Werrin declared in a stately manner. Jent flashed a grin, "You're trying to bind me to the village?" and Werrin replied with a subtle smile, "Just returning the favour."
"Haha, you've really grown up, fine we'll have it your way then," Jent said leaving, with Ian trailing along behind. Standing outside Jent took a deep breath before turning to one of the guards, "keep an eye on him, he's getting restless again."
Having warned the guards Jent made his way to his home, ignoring Werrins 'order' to go get parts from the village depot, as he had what he needed to patch himself up already.
After a short walk through the residential area, Ian and Jent reached Jent's house. It was a rickety old thing, made from junk like most Junker homes, and had been built in a small secluded section of the cave system. There was only one thing particularly notable about Jent's house and that was the fact that it had a full mechanical workshop outside, something rarely found outside the bazaar.
"Home, sweet home," Jent said dumping his bag by the workshop. Ian, who had been following Jent this entire time, looked at the ramshackle building and said aloud, "what a sh*thole."
Jent looked over at Ian and smiled, "kid I don't need to understand your language, to guess what you're saying," Ian felt the gaze of the Junker, and hearing him talk, a flush of pink crept into his pale cheeks, knowing he had been understood.
Jent waved Ian into his home and got to work on his leg, pulling out the parts he had collected and soldering together the usable components to make himself a new leg.
A few hours passed like this while Jent worked, and Ian watched, curious about the tech that could be found in the Star Wars universe. As he watched Ian's mind began to wander.
'I know I'm in the Star Wars universe, but where exactly? I don't recognise this place. And what time is it...? Am I at the point in time where the films take place... before... after?' Ian was confused, he didn't know what to do, 'Should I become a Jedi, they're basically the police in this universe, maybe I could become a bounty hunter, a merc... But I'm a child now... And how am I supposed to get off this planet, I don't have a ship and I wouldn't know how to pilot one even if I did.' Ian pondered over the various problems he would face.
Naturally, being in a fantasy world, Ian felt a call to adventure. Would he get to meet the characters from the films? Maybe he could learn how to make Sci-fi level tech? Or become a powerful Force-User, there was so much he wanted to do.
While Ian was embroiled in his thoughts, the purple crystals that lit up the cavern system dimmed; It was an artificial night created by the villages alchemists. Jent had finished fixing up his leg by this point and was ready to sleep; having been out in the heaps most of the day he was shattered.
Ian looked up at the ceiling, he watched as the last of the day's light faded away. He heard a thunk behind him and turned to see Jent asleep on what looked like a couch. "But I'm not sleepy," he complained to himself, sounding like a spoiled child.
