Games

The first week of University life was hectic for Jungkook. Having psychology as a major was not easy and with how many creatures exsisted in their society, there was a lot of different topics to study and cover. In the first couple of days hhle was already feeling the pressure of what he was taking on. He was leaning over a pile of books and papers on his bed when Taehyung came in happy as always.

"Hey Jungkookie! How are you?" He asked smiling walking over to where Jungkook was studying.

"Mhm." Jungkook replied.

Taehyung watched a saw how focused Jungkook was and clearly had not heard what the other had said. Taehyung walked over to the mini fridge and pulled out on of the many banana milks he always had on hand. He added a straw and walked back over to his roommate. He holds the banana milk under Jungkook's nose.

Jungkook flinched a little and looked over to see Taehyung smiling with the banana milk outstretched toward him.

"Tae? When did you get here?" Jungkook asked surprised.

"A little while ago, you didn't notice cause you were concentrating so hard. Thought you might be thirsty!" Taehyung replied.

Jungkook thanked him and took the milk before looking back down to his work.

"Jungkookie it's only the first week, how are you so swamped already?" Taehyung asked sitting on his own bed.

"Uh, well because there are such a variety of creatures and all their mental states can vary by their biological instincts, I have to pretty much learn as much as I can about each kind." Jungkook said still looking through his papers.

He had on his glasses today, and they were skidding down to the tip of his nose which Taehyung found adorable.

"They don't expect you to know about all the classifications so soon though right?" Taehyung asked seeing how stressed Jungkook looked.

"Uh....no not exactly, but most of my class know the basics because they took courses before coming here. I never had the time to take classes so I am a little behind them and am trying to catch up." Jungkook replied.

Taehyung didn't like seeing Jungkook so stressed. He considered them to be friends and wanted to help him if he could. He could see Jungkook needed a break, and was not about to take no for an answer. So he steeped off his bed and grabbed Jungkook's hand.

Jungkook was surprised by the action, and felt Taehyung pull his arm.

"Tae what are you doing?" He asked confused.

"Come with me! We are going to go have some fun!" Taehyung said determined.

Taehyung pulled on him harder making him follow and he didn't let go of his arm until they reached the bus stop.

"Where are we going?" Jungkook asked.

"The arcade!!!" Taehyung replied excited.

"Arcade?" Jungkook asked.

"Yeah! You know where you play games-" Taehyung trailed off when he noticed the confused look on Jungkook's face. "You have never heard of an arcade?"

"Ummm...no not really. I mean I'm sure there might be some around in our town but I didn't really go out much so I don't know for sure." Jungkook replied.

Taehyung watched the doe-eyed boy and his confused look for minute. He was so confused and lost about so many things, and Taehyung found it so surprising that he was more like a lost puppy than a big bad wolf. He knew most people who found out what he was would already judge him and think he is a heartless monster that is cold and uncaring, but the longer they knew each other Taehyung knew that was so far from true.

Jungkook was nothing like how Amaroks were protrayed. He had his moments when he seemed uncaring, but Taehyung saw that Jungkook had tried to be nicer to him. Taehyung knew he could probably be annoying sometimes but Jungkook had really tried to be patient with him.

"Well once we get there I will show you my favorite games!" Taehyung said.

Jungkook nodded and turned to watch down the street for the bus. Taehyung felt his phone vibrate and he turned it on to a text from Jimin.

(Text message )

Jimin: tae!!!!! Where are you? I'm bored....

Taehyung: where is Yoongi-hyung?

Jimin: he is here, we are both bored.

Taehyung: lol! You two ran out of things to do after one week?

Jimin: yeah....

Taehyung: lol! Ok well me and Jungkookie are going to the arcade! Did you guys want to meet us there?

Jimin: YES! See you in 20!

Taehyung: ok, see you guys there!

(Text message End)

Taehyung laughed softly to himself, catching Jungkook's attention.

"What?" Jungkook asked.

"Oh nothing, it's just Yoonmin, they are bored so they are going to meet us at the arcade!" Taehyung replied putting his phone back in his pocket.

There was silence for a minute.

"What's a Yoonmin?" Jungkook asked.

Taehyung looked at his roommate before letting out a whole body laugh. Again Jungkook is supposed by the sound, what did he say that was funny?

"Jungkookie!! You are so funny!" Taehyung said laughing still.

"What? Why?" Jungkook still didn't understand.

"I don't know it's just the way you said Yoonmin and how confused you looked. Sorry it was just cute. Anyway it's just Yoongi and Jimin's name combined." Taehyung said still smiling.

Jungkook thought about it for a minute.

"Is it normal to make these combined names with friends?" Jungkook asked.

"Sometimes, it depends on the friendship I guess. Some people don't care for it, but I think those two have the perfect ship name!" Taehyung said.

The bus arrived while Jungkook was distracted by this whole combined name thing. He wondered if Taehyung and him had a combined name as well. They found a seat in the back of the bus and settled in for the 20 minute ride to the arcade.

"Would our combined name be taekook then?" Jungkook asked.

The question took Taehyung by surprise.

"What?" Taehyung asked surprised.

"Well Tae as in Taehyung and look because my name is Jungkook...any other combination sounds weird so I'm guess that's the one that makes the most sense." Jungkook said totally serious.

Taehyung smiled and laughed softly, he didnt expect such things to come from Jungkook. He thought of a ship name for them without even knowing what 'ships' were. Could he be any cuter?

"Do you want our 'ship' name to be taekook?" Taehyung asked.

"Well if it's like a roommate thing then shouldn't we have a name too?" Jungkook asked.

"Yeah of course! I like it! Taekook! It does sound kind of perfect!" Taehyung replied happily.

Jungkook nodded and turned his attention to his phone. Taehyung really found everything Jungkook did cute, and he didn't know why. He just seemed like a confused baby learning about the world for the first time. Yeah he was a little socially awkward, but that can be changed.

They made it to the arcade to find Jimin and Yoongi standing at the entrance. Taehyung was surprised they had made it there before them, and walked faster to meet them. Jungkook followed behind at his own slow pace and watched the three interact when they met each other.

They were hugging and laughing together and Jungkook felt a little awkward. He stood a good distance away and waited until they were done. They turned and walked inside, Jimin had his arm wrapped around Taehyung's shoulder. Even though Jungkook found these social interactions strange, he decided it would give him real world observations of how different creatures interact with each other.

He watched the two faires laughing and joking together, and Jungkook wondered if maybe they were bonded and that's why they were so close. On the other hand it also seemed that Jimin would flirt with Yoongi at times. The whole thing was very confusing, because Yoongi was an alpha wolf and Jimin was a fairy. That kind of relationship would be viewed as very unusual and couldn't possibly last.

He knew well enough that alpha wolfs acted strongly on instinct and only mated with their own kind. In fact there had not been more than one or two cases where creatures of different kinds mated successfully. It at least as far as the history books said. There has definitely not been many relationships between a light creature and a dark creature that didn't end badly. Jungkook concluded that it was just goofy college fun and nothing more.

The three had wondered off to a basket ball game and Jungkook stood looking around trying to focus with all noises everywhere. This place was very loud and he wasn't sure he liked it. It was starting to overwhelm him a little, until he heard Taehyung calling him.

"Come on Jungkookie why don't you give this one a try?" Taehyung said waving him over.

Jungkook took a deep breathe and walked over. Taehyung handed him a basketball and explained to him what to do. So Jungkook stepped back and tossed the ball and to his surprise the hoop started moving in different directions. Jungkook paused and looked confused turning to the others wondering what was going on.

"Yeah it moves to make it a little harder!" Yoongi told him.

Jungkook shook his head once he understood and gave it another try. They all watched as one after another Jungkook made shot after shot without missing a single one. Once his turn was over he look to the others and they all looked stunned.

"What?" He asks.

"Wow you are really good at basketball!" Jimin chimed in.

"Oh uh thanks." Jungkook replied.

"Wow! Let's go see if you are this good at the other games!!!" Taehyung said excited dragging Jungkook to another game.

They played several games and at each one Jungkook would not understand but as soon as he did he would win every time. His three companions would just cheer and Pat him on the back happily. Jungkook didn't know why it was a big deal to be good at these games but it seemed to make the others happy so he played along.

"Kook I am surprised that you have never been to an arcade before, you are like a pro!" Yoongi said while they waited for their food.

They had decided to extend their arcade time into lunch together. Jungkook objected at first because he needed to go back and study, but they had all grabbed him and pulled him to the closest hamburger place. Jungkook really did not want to waste a whole day messing around but he didn't seem to have much say in the matter. He decided it was pointless to fight it and just followed the others, mostly staying quiet.

Jimin and Taehyung had decided to go order the food leaving the two wolves alone.

"It's weird huh?" Yoongi asked.

"What?" Jungkook replied.

"Being around light creatures. They are really different." Yoongi said.

"Yeah. I don't really understand them, but I have to if I want to pass psychology." Jungkook replied.

"They are pretty cute though." Yoongi added watching the two faries talking together in line.

"Uh I guess, I haven't really noticed. Do you like Jimin?" Jungkook asked.

"Wow, you just get staright to the point huh?" Yoongi replied scoffing. " I mean we haven't known each other that long but he is really interesting and fun to be around."

"But could you guys even be together romantically? I mean you're an alpha, your instincts are to find a mate of your own kind isn't it?" Jungkook asked.

"I guess, but a lot of things have changed. The instincts are not as strong as in the past, I don't feel a draw to a specific person right now. I am not sure if things are as black and white as they used to be. We all used to be kept separated, and now look what's happening. We have a whole University full of bothe light and dark creatures. It kind of makes me think anything is possible at this point." Yoongi said.

Jungkook was surprised by this, he always expected alpha wolves to be aggressive and instinct motivated. In the past wolves stuck to instinct and tradition just like his own kind, but maybe things really have changed and his kind was stuck in the past. Jungkook watched Taehyung and Jimin ordering and wondered if his kind could have feelings for a creature like a fairy.

He was sure it was impossible, but maybe just maybe things could change.
