The End...maybe...

Jungkook tried to open his eyes and look around but the dust from the blast lingered thick in the air making it hard to see and breathe. He huffed out a few breathes before he could open his eyes slightly and see his surroundings. His head was pounding and all the sounds around him were muffled. He tried hard to roll on to his paws again and stand, but the blast had made him feel weak. The others of the pack were slowly trying to find their bearings. With a push Jungkook stood on all fours and searched the area for Yoongi. He tried several times to link with him but with no reply.

Jungkook took a step forward feeling all his legs buckle under the weight of his body, but he kept moving. It felt like gravity wanted him to stay down, and every step was difficult. He again tried to link with Yoongi, his wolf instincts kicking in and searching for his alpha. His vision was still blurry but soon he could make out the shape of Yoongi standing by the rubble of the church. Jungkook walked toward him pushing his nose against him whimpering and checking him for any injuries.

"It's ok kook! I'm fine." Yoongi replied finally linking to the younger.

Jungkook felt relief until his mind cleared and he remembered what had happened. He turned his attention to the pile of wood that Taehyung had just been standing in. The realization sends pain through his body as he whimpers and groans at the mess. He moves closer using his paws to dig through the ruble trying to find a sign of anyone who could be inside. Yoongi was less hopeful, and had already begun to accept the inevitable, that everyone inside was already dead.

Jungkook did not want to give up and tried harder to pull wood beams away and search for Taehyung's scent.

"It's over kid. No one could survive that." Yoongi tried to get Jungkook to accept the truth.

"No! NO! He is alive I know he is! This can't be it!" Jungkook yelled as his heart began to break.

He let out a painful howl that shook the ground as he fell to his knees and whimpered. The rest of the pack moved closer and lifted their heads to the sky and howled in pain for the loss of their Luna. After a short silence they all turned and started to walk away from what was left of the church. Jungkook remained still and laid down beside the place Taehyung had been torn away from him and rested his head on a beam. He was not leaving him yet. Yoongi wanted to stay but his pack needed him, and they needed him to be strong no matter how much he was hurting. So, he turned away and followed the rest of the pack.

Jungkook closed his eyes feeling all his emotions amplify as all his resolve and control melted away. He was broken and he would never leave Taehyung, not even in death. He closed his eyes and let go of everything and cried and whimpered loudly. All the pain he felt came off him in waves that anyone would be able to feel if they were near. The world around him fell silent and he could only hear the sound of his own breathing.

"J-jungkook…." He heard a barely audible whisper. "Jungkook…"

He lifted his head and searched around him, but no one was near him.

"Jungkook…can you hear me?" Came the voice again louder this time.

"Tae?" He replied focusing harder opening his mind.

"Jungkook…" Said the voice weakly.

Jungkook stood up and looked down trying to see any movement. Was he imagining Taehyung's voice?

"Jungkook…I am here! I'm stuck." Taehyung's voice came again.

"Tae! Is that really you?" Jungkook asked doubting his own mind.

"It's me, but I can't get out." Taehyung voice sounded so weak.

"Hang on, ok!" Jungkook replied frantically through their link.

He jumped to his feet and began pulling wood beams from the pile trying to find Taehyung. He moves several pieces before he saw a hand limply peaking from under a larger beam. He knelt down and nuzzled his nose under the fingers hoping for a reaction. The hand moved slightly and Jungkook knew who it was. With an excited huff he used hi head to push the beam away from the person underneath and found Taehyung.

Jungkook pulled off other beams off Taehyung's body and brought his head closer to him nudging him to grab onto his neck. Taehyung was weak but took hold of Jungkook's neck with as much strength as he could muster and felt a pull as Jungkook lifted him away from the place he had been trapped. He let out a groan of pain as his body was lifted and Jungkook walked slowly away from the church setting Taehyung down gently.

Jungkook was could not believe that Taehyung was alive. He jumped excitedly nuzzling his nose and face all over Taehyung. Taehyung laid back on the ground taking in several deep breaths.

"Jungkook, they are still alive. You have to help them." Taehyung said softly before closing his eyes and giving in to the exhaustion.

Jungkook checked on him to be sure he was still breathing before trying to link with Yoongi.

"Hyung! Come back! Taehyung is alive and he says others are too, but they are trapped! We need to get everyone out!" Jungkook said frantically.

Yoongi linked with the rest of the pack quickly and they turned around and ran as quick as they could and began digging away at the ruble. As the moved pieces away mor people became visible and the pack gently removed each person from the church. Jungkook and Yoongi went past and checked each person for injuries, and by some miracle they had all been unharmed other than a few scrapes and bruises. Jungkook returned to Taehyung and shifted back into human form. He looked through Taehyung's pocket and found his phone. The screen was cracked but it was still working and he called the pack hospital and told them to be ready to receive several injured fairies.

(Taehyung's POV)

I had saved Jungkook by pushing him away, I knew that, but it broke me hearing him pounding on the door trying to get to me. I had to protect him, he was just a victim, his family had been destroyed because of my kind. He did not deserve the things that happened to him, and if it meant I had to dye to find justice for him then it was worth it. He could move on one day and be happy, after the bond was broken, he would be free. The Elder was pushing my mother making her stronger, but he was becoming weak. I glanced over and saw my father collapsed on the floor, and I wanted to reach out for him to make sure he was ok but it was taking all my power to block my mother out of my mind.

My mother was pushing harder against me and the power she had to use to fight me was sending pulses of energy every direction and soon the others in the room were unconscious like my father. I needed to get them out but we were trapped now. I pushed further and used any energy I could to stand and walk closer to my mom, I had to pull her out of the Elder's control before the power became too much and destroyed the whole building.

"Mom! Please listen to my voice! I know you are still in there. You need to fight! Fight it mom, you can push him out!" I yelled.

I kept moving closer and I could feel the energy from her wavering as if she was slowly breaking the link with the Elder and waking up. With one last step I was able to reach her and took hold of her arm. The feel of my touch was enough for her to break out, and she tried to speak to me.

"Taehyung? Oh my gosh, what is happening?" Her voice came through their mind link.

I was able to reach her through all the manipulation the elder had clouded her mind with, I found her.

"Mom, you need to break the link with him. He is pushing too much power through you. It will kill you!" Taheyung pleaded with her.

"No, get out of here! Take the others and go!" His mom answered trying to push him out again.

"NO mom! Please, I can end this. Just let go." I told her calmly.

She was still trying to push me out but was weaker than me by this point. I needed to break the link! She had let me into her mind, and this was my chance to push the elder out. I pushed harder with every last bit of my energy I had left and broke the link sending a pulse of pure light in every direction. My mom was released, and she dropped to her knees before falling unconscious like the others. The elder had been knocked back when the link with my mother had been broken and as soon as he tried to stand again, he turned to me and tried to push himself into my mind.

I had barely enough energy to break the link from my mother, and I could feel myself becoming too weak to fight any longer. There was nothing left inside me, and he entered my mind quickly and easily.

"You should have not fought me on this Taehyung, I am only doing what needs to be done. This world is spinning out of control and we need to fix our mistakes. They are the mistakes, and they don't deserve our compassion. They have destroyed this world over petty arguments and territorial disputes. They are barbaric even after all this time, even after how far we have evolved!" He yelled through the links in our minds.

But I could sense he too had been weakened by the amount of energy he used to fight against me. He was pushing harder, and I was not able to push back, I was too weak and was ready to give in. I had nothing left in me to fight him any longer. What felt like hours was less than a minute, time seemed to stop and closed my eyes ready to let myself go. But before I could I heard him; he was still calling for me trying to link with me. He was still out there fighting to reach me; his voice was my anchor. It was the one thing I could hear no matter where I was, and I would be able to find my way home. He was my home, and I could not leave him. I had to fight. I had to give one last try to stop the Elder from doing this ever again, I needed to push him to forget.

Jungkook's voice was ringing in my ears and I focused on him as I tapped into my powers once more. I had used so much energy now that I did not think there was any more, I could give. I felt a flutter, almost a tiny spark and I reached for it letting it travel through my body. With one last push a screamed and released the last bit of energy left pushing all of it into the Elder. It was the last bit his body could take as his eyes grew white and light was shooting out of every sing one of his pours until there was a blinding explosion that shook the walls around me. His body had turned into pure energy and had ripped him apart sending energy in every direction until the walls crumbled around us. I watched in horror as the building began to fall on top of us.

I let out another burst of energy before all I saw was darkness and heard loud crashes all around me.

When I finally came to there was dust everywhere and I felt my mouth go dry, but I was still alive. I tried to move but I was trapped. Slivers of sunlight were shooting through the cracks of the debris, and I could hear quiet whimpers. Someone was out there, and I knew who it was. I closed my eyes and tried to think of Jungkook and how badly I needed him to hear me. It took several tries but then I heard it, I heard his voice. I looked around me to see if they others had survived the collapse, and the debris had fallen on top of us but none of us were covered. It was as if something had prevented anything from touching us. We were trapped but it was clear that no one was injured.

Soon the large pieces of wood were being removed and I felt Jungkook's fur in my hands and I grabbed on for dear life. He pulled me free and I let out a sigh of relief as he set me down on the ground. I sat up a little as Jungkook excitedly nuzzled into my sides and my face as if he were checking every part of me for injuries. I wanted to let out a giggle, but I was too tired and as I was about to give in to my fatigue when I saw Yoongi pull Jimin from the wreckage and that was enough for me. I saw darkness all around me and a fell to the ground.

I felt a cool all over and it sent a chill down my body enough to make me try and open my eyes. My eyes felt so heavy, but I kept trying and all I saw was white. I blinked my eyes a few times until my eyes adjusted to brightness of where I was. Once things became clear I could see I was in a hospital room. My first thought was to panic, but before I could I turned to see Jungkook asleep in the chair next to my bed. I sighed in relief seeing him beside me, he was ok, and I was still alive. I sat back into my bed and happily watched as Jungkook slept peacefully.

We had been through a lot together, and he only now was able to finally sleep. I smiled as he started to stir and slowly wake up. His eyes fluttered open and met mine, and he almost jumped from his chair and brought me into a tight hug. I laughed weakly and wrapped my arms around him holding him as close as I could. I never wanted to let go of him again. When I thought I had no strength left inside me, the sound of his voice was enough to give me the power I needed. He was everything to me and I was never going to take that for granted. He saved my life in more ways than one since the day we met. Everything that made me happy in this world was thanks to him being in my life. It is as if fate itself brought him to me because it knew when the time came, he was the only one in this world that could complete me.

And our life together had only just begun…
