Broken Promises

-Jisung's POV-

"Do you really like me? Or is there something else?"

Jisung looked down at Y/N. She stared up at him, her wide tear-stained gaze trained on his face. His eyes betrayed him as they glanced at his brother's body. What could he have possibly said for her to ask this?

"Don't believe what he said. He lies," was all he managed to say.

*No. I- I lied.

Her expression said it all, "please don't tell me that you did something to your family."

*It was my choice.

*It was my mistake.

"You killed them, didn't you." The room went silent, all eyes turned to the youthful boy, waiting for his answer.

Jisung looked at Y/N most regretfully, "They took away someone that I loved most."

"Who? Why?"

Jisung only shook his head, "It was in the past." Y/N wouldn't understand how much the past meant to him.

One of the others in the room perked up, face full of shock, "Wait...wasn't it-?" A face of utter shock and realization.

"Don't," his voice resounded in the air, harsh and biting, "-say her name. Ever." The ice in his warning was clear. It was a dagger in his heart to hear such a name.

**Flashback to a childhood**

"자기..." Jagi. Sweetie.

A young Park Jisung looked up at the girl who stood over him as he sat in the chair, reading a book. She smiled at him in her white dress, her eyes bright and clear. He smiled back as her arms wrapped around him in a hug as warm as the sunlight that filtered through the large open windows.

"One day, I want to get married." Jisung giggled, thinking about that day. Maybe they would when they grew up, he could see it. This girl was his dream.

"I love you," he said, giving her a peck on the cheek.

"Hmm. We should stay like this, forever."

"Yah...."

"I'll remember you forever and ever and ever..."

"YAH!" Jisung pouted. The girl giggled at his annoyance. Then she bent over and kissed him on the cheek.

"There. I love you, too."

Kang Mina.

She had promised.

It was a promise.

It was a promise that he couldn't keep alive for her.

Even after she was gone.

-Unknown POV-

The little boy ran. He ran over the snow in his bare feet, crying all the way.

Why? Because his hyung wouldn't run away with him.

We can all feel alone, sometimes.

But when will this loneliness end?
