They got to the bunker and stepped out of the car. They scanned their faces and the door opened for them. They got inside and Skylar pressed on the elevator button. The door opened and they saw a guy in a tuxedo standing there.
"I've never seen this guy before. He must be new," Skylar thought.
"West," Joey greeted the guy.
"Campbell," West, Oliver, greeted him. He turned to Skylar. "Ms....."
Skylar glared at him. "That's Mr. Kennedy to you."
Oliver furrowed his eyebrows. "Aren't you a girl?"
"No."
"But your hair is so long and you're so short."
"WHAT FOR EXCUSE IS THAT?! AND DON'T CALL ME SHORT YOU TALL PRICK!" Joey struggled to hold Skylar back and Oliver's back hit the wall as he was praying to God for Skylar not to attack him. The elevator door opened and the sight the others saw wasn't pretty.
"We're here," Joey announced to Skylar. Skylar broke loose and dusted off his dress. They all walked to Roy's office. Joey knocked three times.
"Come in." He opened the door and saw him sitting behind his desk. Roy stood up and walked to stand in front of them.
"Mr. Kennedy," they both said.
"West. Campbell." He paused and smiled when he saw Skylar. "Kennedy."
"Hi dad," he said and hugged Roy. Roy smiled and hugged him back. They broke the hug and Skylar took his heels off. He ran his fingers through his blond hair.
"What kind of assassination are we talking about? And why do I have to wear this shit?" He asked. "I want to take this off."
Roy sighed and showed them the PowerPoint. "Your target is this guy." A middle-aged man with black hair and brown eyes popped up on the screen. "Mark Williams. 35 years old, divorced, has 2 kids. He has a huge scar on his right hand. He's going to this ball and you two-" he pointed Oliver and Skylar. "-have to go and kill him." He turned to Oliver. "Now I know that this is your first assassination, West. But stick to Skylar and you're safe."
"I have a question, sir," Oliver said and glanced at Skylar. "Why am I save with he-, I mean, him?" Roy and Skylar smirked.
"Because I trained him since he was little and he's a natural-born killer. He joined us here when he was 12 and is the first and best minor that we've ever had. He's even better than most of the assassins here," Roy gloated. Skylar rolled his eyes with a smile.
"Okay then. When do we have to go?"
"The ball starts at seven, so you have an hour to prepare. I'll send you both the location. Dismissed." Skylar grabbed his heels and with Oliver, they went to the weapon room as Joey stayed to talk with Roy.
They took the elevator again and waited. When they heard the 'ding', they got out of the elevator. They grabbed some weapon holders and put their guns in them. Oliver put it under his jacket and Skylar strapped it on his thigh.
"Do you know why a woman isn't going with me?" Oliver asked Skylar.
Skylar loaded the magazine. "Most of them are already assigned to something. We don't have a lot of women either," Skylar answered. When they were done, they went to the car and drove off. Skylar spotted the cards and read what was written on one.
"Masquerade ball?'" He wondered. He saw the masks and sighed. "Miss me with that bullshit."
"Remember to put on the mask," Skylar said. Oliver hummed in return.
30 minutes later
"I want to fucking die," Skylar moaned. "But rather this than being at home."
Oliver watched him sympathetically as he saw more men check him out. He handed Skylar a glass of champagne. He drank from it a little as he glanced around with a bored expression on his face. They heard the music start. They looked at each other and nodded. They both stood up and Oliver grabbed his hand. They went to the dancefloor and Skylar followed the steps that Oliver made. They both scanned the crowd for a man with black hair and a scar. Oliver's eyes stopped at someone fitting that description.
"I found him." Skylar followed his eyes and saw a guy that fitted the description perfectly.
"I'll talk to him when the music's over." Skylar turned back to Oliver. "I have a question for you. How old are you?"
Oliver raised an eyebrow. "I just turned 20. Why?" The music stopped. They heard people clapping as the other's were looking for a new dance partner.
"Just curious. Hold my phone for me." Skylar walked off to their target. He 'accidentally' walked into him and fell down. Mark looked down and saw a beautiful girl on the floor. He held his hand out.
"Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?" Mark asked Skylar.
He blushed and smiled. "Oh, you're too much," Skylar giggled.
"Fucking cringe."
The music began playing again. "Do you want to dance?" Skylar asked with a shy, but hopeful smile.
Mark bowed a little with a smirk. "Gladly." Still holding hands, they got on the dancefloor. They were dancing until Mark started asking questions.
"What's your name, beautiful?"
"Why don't you tell me your name first?" He playfully asked back.
"Feisty. I like it," he smirked. "My name's Mark Williams." He dipped Skylar.
"It's him!"
"It's Julia," Skylar purred. "Did you come alone?"
Mark nodded. "It's a lonely life that I live."
"Well maybe," Skylar wrapped his leg around his waist and lowered his voice a little. "I could join you this night."
"Oh great. He has a boner."
As Oliver was watching Skylar seducing the man, he took a sip of his drink. "So that's how professionals are," he mumbled to himself. Mark and Skylar danced until someone bumped into them.
"Oh sorry," a familiar voice apologized. Skylar looked up and saw Ashton standing there without a mask. A girl was clinging on him. Skylar's brows knitted together.
"Wait a minute. Aren't you the son of the host?" Mark asked.
Ashton nodded. "Yes."
"Well tell him that this was a nice party, but I have to go early." He turned to Skylar. "Let's go."
"Of course," Skylar giggled. He glanced at Ashton who was staring at him.
"Do I know you from somewhere?" He asked Skylar.
He shook his head. "I've never seen you in my life. Sorry," he smiled apologetically. "I wouldn't forget a face like that."
Ashton smirked. "I wouldn't forget a cute face with a sexy body like that either." The girl clinging on Ashton gasped and glared at him.
Mark glared too. "Hey! Hey! Don't hit on my girl!" Mark growled. Ashton held his hands up in surrender. Mark grabbed Skylar's hand roughly and they went outside. Oliver followed them quietly with his gun in his hand.
"My car's this way." Mark guided Skylar in a dark alley. They walked and Skylar was acting like he was scared.
"Are you sure that this is the right wa-" Mark pushed him against and kissed him roughly. He rested his hand on Skylar's ass and squeezed it.
Skylar turned to Oliver to see him standing there, petrified with the gun in his hands.
"SHOOT!" Skylar yelled. Oliver kept frozen in his place and Mark noticed the gun in his hand. All the color drained out of Mark's face and he began to run.
Skylar grabbed his gun and cocked it. "What a moron." Skylar pointed the gun at his head and pulled the trigger. Mark's body dropped like a sack of potatoes on the ground. He put the gun back and walked to Oliver.
"We're done here," Skylar said and walked back to the car. Oliver followed him dumbfounded. They got inside the car and drove back. The car stopped at a red stoplight.
"How?"
Skylar turned to him confused. "How what?"
"How can you kill someone like that and act as nothing happened?" Oliver asked.
Skylar shrugged. "I have to do the job. On this job it's kill or be killed," he replied. "And I don't want to die."
30 minutes later
"How did it go?" Roy asked them. Oliver looked down.
"It was a success," Skylar spoke up. "But West couldn't shoot Mark. He was frozen when he had to shoot him."
Oliver bowed down. "I'm sorry sir."
Roy rested his hand on his shoulder. "You don't have to beat yourself down for this. A lot of people are scared when they have to kill someone for the first time," Roy assured him. "It happened to me too."
"Did it happen to Skylar?" Skylar scoffed.
"No. That boy is too cold-hearted," Roy shuddered and chuckled. "That's why he went with you." He paused. "This was all for today. Dismissed."
Oliver left Roy's office to go home, but Skylar stayed.
"I have a question," Skylar said.
"Shoot." Skylar grabbed his gun and pointed it at his father.
"Is this what you meant?" Skylar pulled the trigger. The bullet hit the wall next to him.
"Haha. So funny." Roy rolled his eyes. "Just ask the fucking question."
"Who was the host of the party?" Roy rubbed his chin.
"I think it was some man with the last name King," he replied. "He's one rich fucker. I think that he has a kid going to your school. Do you know him by any chance?"
Skylar turned his head to the wall next to him with a murderous look on his face. "Yeah, I know that son of a bitch," he whispered.
"What?"
"What?" Skylar shook his head. "Let's go home."
Walking out of the building, Roy spoke up again. "Do you want another mission?"
Skylar frowned. "Depends."
"There's this girl to assassinate. She's going to the movies with her friends tomorrow. I think it's the new Aquaman movie." Skylar's eyes widened.
"I'll do it. When and where?"
"It starts at 7 PM. Your mom and I are going out at 6 and we'll be back at 12. I'll send you the location," Roy said.
"Are you giving me money?" Skylar asked. Roy laughed hysterically.
"Money! He wants MONEY!" Roy wheezed. Skylar playfully glared. He wiped his tears away.
"So I'm not getting any?"
"You're getting a salary of 15K every month! Don't ask me for money." Roy paused. "I'll give you €100. Would that be enough?"
"I don't want your money anymore."
Roy sighed. "What a stubborn kid."
The next day
Ashton was talking to Nash and Tyler about the ball from last night.
"So there was this hot girl at the ball. I bumped into her and this man when Sandra and I were dancing. When I saw here, I was so close to grab her and take her to a hotel or something to fuck her," Ashton said. Nash and Tyler kept quiet for a while.
"Holy shit dude," Nash said after a while. "What did she look like?"
"She has this long, golden blond hair that almost reaches her waist. She has big, round eyes that are beautiful blue eyes with little specks of gray and emerald in it and-" Ashton stopped himself from rambling. He coughed.
"Dude, you sound like you're falling in love or some shit like that," Tyler smirked and wiggled his eyebrows. Ashton scoffed. The bell rang and they went to the cafeteria. He spotted Skylar walking to the bathroom.
"I have to go somewhere. I'll catch up to you guys." Ashton walked the direction Skylar was walking and waited for him to come out. Skylar came out and saw Ashton.
"What do you want?" He asked coldly.
"I wanted to ask if you want to go and watch a movie with me today."
Skylar narrowed his eyes. "I have to go watch Aquaman today. But if he goes with me..."
"Which movie?"
"I really want to go watch Aquaman."
"How late?"
"It starts around seven."
"I'll go. But on one condition." Skylar paused. "After that, I want to watch the new Dragon Ball movie."
"Why?"
"Take it or leave it," Skylar replied.
"Only if you wear a skirt or dress."
"Not again!" They held a staring match. Both of them wouldn't back down. It was like fighting over which is better. Marvel or DC? Or Ezra Miller or Noah Centineo? Trick question. Neither.
Ashton sighed. "You win. Give me your phone." Skylar handed him his phone and Ashton put his number in it. "Text me your address later." Glancing one last time at Skylar, he left to go to the cafeteria.
