Northwest of the Zhen kingdom, sunset.
The Li manor:
By the time Qi Sun and the two servants finished cleaning up, Li Jiao Lei was in the garden drinking her tea. Qi Sun and the two servants were sitting opposite Li Jiao Lei as she sipped on her tea. Qi Sun was filled with anger, confusion and amazement while the two servants were shaking from fear. They had watched Li Jiao Lei grow up, but how could they miss the fact that she was so powerful. Since when did she start cultivating? What level was she at?
"Young Miss Li, what are we going to do about the Hau family." Qi Sun was extremely worried about his young miss. He had seen her grow up but never had he ever seen such rage radiating out of her like today.
"There is nothing to do… for now. We just have to mind our own business and forget my blood relations with them… for now."
"But miss Li, Hau Lou is your uncle! How can we forget that important point? Furthermore, if we do nothing regarding this matter, won't it develop?"
"Qi Sun, Hau Lou isn't stupid enough to send assassins to the Li family twice. He knows my grandfather's nature, and he knows what's good for him."
The two servants joined into the conversation. "Shouldn't we at least tell General Li Cheng or Miss Li Wenling?"
"My grandfather is old and weak, he won't be able to handle the situation. As for my aunt, she's too softhearted in such situations, her skin is too thin to handle this matter. If one is vicious to you, you must become more vicious. If they call you shameless, then you should be shameless. Their time will come. One day I'll step on all of them as they did to my family."
"Young miss Li, revenge isn't the answer to most things." Xuan Rong, the youngest servant out of the two said.
"I won't be taking revenge, but instead I'll be honouring my family name." Li Jiao Lei removed a scroll from her sleeve and continued… "Qi Sun, I will be leaving the capital for some years and I need you to take this to my grandfather."
"Young Miss Li! You can't go! What about your grandfather won't his illness reach its peak if he reads this." Xuan Ling, the eldest servant out of the two said.
"It is all explained in the scroll. Give it to him."
…
That very night Li Jiao Lei travelled out of the Zhen kingdom. She sat quietly in a small wooden and dull carriage. There were no guards to look after her. An old man directed the carriage, he had a whip in his right hand and a lamp on the other. There were only two horses dragging the carriage. The ride was uncomfortable, but Li Jiao Lei didn't protest.
It had wasted her a lot of time to convince Qi Sun and the two servants. They thought she was too young to travel. Indeed, she was young. At only twelve years old she was living her home country unprotected, but of course, the scroll meant for her grandfather said something different.
Li Jiao Lei was lazily looking out the window.
She didn't want to waste any more time on what she needed to do.
The carriage paused and permitted a much heftier and distinguished carriage through. As the carriage passed Li Jiao Lei looked at it with interest in her eyes. Suddenly her bright green eyes met with powerful blue eyes. The owner of the majestic eyes was in the distinguished carriage.
She felt like she knew the person. But where had she seen those blue eyes before?
He wore a white mask and a white robe with golden designs on it. Li Jiao Lei knew that the person was influential, so she bowed to him then closed the curtains.
The moon emperor was even more bewildered than before. He personally came to the Zhen kingdom as the moon emperor because of this young lady, but in the end, who knew she would depart in such a carriage. His lips couldn't help but curve upwards.
Amusing.
But he couldn't leave now. He was a great emperor, if he came to a country then left once he stepped into the country, would he be taken seriously?
…
Two days later.
Li Jiao Lei had successfully entered the Shu kingdom.
Li Jiao Lei only carried a black mask with turquoise-green patterns on it just like the colour of her eyes. She planned to use it wisely.
