CHAPTER 22

"Ouch! What the hell was that for?" Ivy just smacked my arm, and boy did it hurt.

"You zoned out. Again." Janice explains.

"I know you are worried, but please focus." Ivy says.

"I'm sorry guys. Let's continue."

Earlier today, the five of us met at the Smoothie Parlour to discuss on the latest developments as we said we would the night before. After going round and round and round suggestions, thoughts, and ideas we came back to square one. Vivian is involved somehow, but who is helping her? Obviously her idiot boyfriend is also backing her but it seems that they aren't the ring leaders. There is a big boss we don't know of.

Now Ivy, Janice, and I were trying to fix a puzzle with 1001 pieces. Who brought this puzzle you ask. Candace did. She said that we are on our phones and devices too much so she made us put them away and work on the 1001 pieced puzzle that I want to toss out the window right at this moment. I have never been a fan of puzzle. Back at the headquarters, when we had game night I always skedaddled from puzzle time.

"Give me that piece! It doesn't go there." Ivy yells at Janice.

"Nooo! You give me your piece because it doesn't go where you want to fix it." Janice retaliates glaring at Ivy.

"To prevent a fight, why don't you both give me your pieces?" I butt in.

"Stay outta this!!" They both screech. They screamed so loudly that I'm sure extra juice just spilled from my cochlea.

    "Okay okay! Sheesh!"

So much for being the peace maker.

Their argument continues for a long while before Candace intervened.

"What in blazes is going on here?"

   "It's Janice! She started it!"

"You liar! Mom would you listen to a stranger over you darling baby?" She gives a sweet smile and bats her eyelashes at her Mom sweetly.

"Okay enough puzzles. Take your phones and get out of my living room before you break anything next. Children of nowadays!"

"Yes!!!" Everybody turns to look at me.

"Ehe! You don't know how much I hate puzzle." I smile shyly at them.

"Whatever, just take your phones from the kitchen drawer and scram."

"Yeesh Mom, you don't have to tell us twice. Let's go guys."

We grab our phones from the kitchen drawer and go back to texting our lives away. At the moment, we are all texting our boyfriends.

"Look at this!" Janice exclaims.

"Awwww that's so cute!" Ivy coos.

"He can be so cute at times." I add.

"Dave is so romantic when he is not being an idiot." We all laugh at her statement.

After a while—that's some good hours—doing nothing but pressing our phones, I got an idea.

"Hey guys!" I yelled.

"What?!" Ivy yells, startled.

"Are you okay?!" Janice is also startled.

"I just got a great idea. How well can you cook?" I ask.

"Fairly well." Janice answers.

"I'm okay as long as I don't go near the oven. I almost burned down my house while baking a cake." Ivy cringes at the memory.

"That's great then. I was thinking, why don't we invite our boyfriends for a home cooked dinner. We are the chefs."

"That's a superb idea!"

"Let's do it!"

"Call up the boys and tell them to be here by six. So that means we have three hours to make a meal."

I grab my phone and dial Josh's number.

"Hey Beau."

"Hey Babe. What's up?"

"Dinner."

"Huh?"

"Ivy, Janice and I are gonna prepare dinner for you and the twins tonight. Be here by six."

"Are you sure you won't burn down the house? I'd hate for anything to happen to Candace's kitchen." He tease.

"Har har! Very funny. I'll have you know that I make some mean chicken wings. They are die for."

"Okay I'll take your word for it. See you in a few hours then."

"See you." I hang up and meet the girls in Janice's room. We all change into some short and tees. Ivy wears a pair of mine because our waist is kinda the same. Candace, Aaron, and Tyler decide to eat out so that we can have the house to ourselves. As I said earlier to Josh, I do make some mean chicken wings and since I want the flavor to seep into the chicken, I start with that one first. We are making Fried rice and chicken wings for the entrèes and a blueberry chocolate parfait for dessert. Not without the help of YouTube, of course. After a sever two hours and thirty five minutes, the food is finally done.

"Wow! I can't believe we did this." I'm very proud of what I'm seeing. We set up the table but leave the food in the kitchen. We don't want to serve cold food.

"We did great and cooking was fun except of the time when Ivy almost chopped my finger off." Janice glared at Ivy who just shrugs.

"It's not my fault that you are a slow cutter. Besides how should I have know that your finger was under all those vegetables?" Janice scoffs dramatically at Ivy when she said this.

"Let's go get ready now."

¥*¥*¥*¥*¥*¥

"Welcome to Casa La Girlfriends." Ivy greet the twins.

"Casa La Girlfriends? Do you even know what you are saying?" I face palm.

"Whatever. At least I know Italian. What do you know?" She folds her arm, looking at me for an answer.

"Uhh... let's see. I know French, Italian, Latin, Spanish, and Mandarin also a little bit of Portuguese and Swahili." Ivy and Janice are looking at me with wide eyes.

"Ouu let me pick up your jaws for you." I smirk at them.

"Wait you guys aren't surprised?" Janice asks the twins.

"Nope. We can speak all those and we are fluent in Swahili and Portuguese."

"Whoa!" They both exclaim.

"Yeah I know. Agents are amazing." I say.

"Agents?" A new voice asks.

We all whip our heads towards the direction of the voice so quickly that I'm surprised that our heads didn't fall off.

Oh come on!!! Not again!

Hii Unicorns❤️ How y'all doing? I'm sad because of George Floyd's death. I'd like to use this opportunity to say that the injustice happening is too much. #BLACKLIVESMATTER✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿 but at the same time black people should also do the right things. #PLEASESTOPRACISM.
